The Spirited Back Nine ...

I think that's a weak reason. Why does it matter whether a plane flies over mountains, plains, cities or oceans? I do get why some people think they are safer over land ... but it's just as dumb as thinking you are safer on the ground than in the air.

Americans need to travel more. They might then understand what is truly wrong here and what is right.
Question:

Does the Dis Co have a drainage problem? The reason I ask is because we seem to know that there is so much in the pipeline (the HS redo, the Soaring project, the VotLM upgrade, the BTMRR upgrade, the so-called EC "Mystery Project", and so on and so forth), but nothing has been officially announced yet! What's the deal? What's the hold-up with the announcements? Do they need some liquid Draino or something to get these announcements to begin to trickle out? Usually, announcements follow leaks relatively quickly, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

I don't take holidays too seriously... except for Thanksgiving. I spend months experimenting on new recipes, weeks planning, and a solid week cooking. I usually take the whole week off work to devote to my culinary endeavors. I love Thanksgiving, and that fat man in red needs to back the hell off. I'll get to my Christmas baking soon enough, but first let me enjoy Thanksgiving!

I love Halloween. And I love Christmas. But I also love Thanksgiving.

And this almost year round holiday seasons (all in the name of bastardized capitalism) is just way too much. On November 3rd, I am thinking many things ... Christmas isn't one.

See: Avatar. Two/three year gap between announcement and anything remotely resembling concept art being shown. There was a blueprint leak in there somewhere in between but... c'mon. Blueprints are kind of like political polls, they can show you whatever you want to see. Especially without dimension or HVAC or anything else drawn in there (or having access to the subsequent pages).

I try and not be sneaky about any editing, beyond changing a typo like spelling something wrong or the like. Much better than when stuff just disappears and I'm wondering if I even said something or not.

When I go back and add an edit, I make it clear why it's being edited.

Beauty and the Beast absolutely will be represented in the expanded Fantasyland in Tokyo.

I shouldn't say sneaky (you denoted it as edited), just that it was a gap of several hours, which might as well be gone forever in terms of the fast moving nature of these threads.

Thanks again, I'm sure it'll entail some sort of superior attraction and we'll never hear the end of it for the next decade. If nothing else, size envy about the castle. :D

All drainage problems at WDW can be traced to developing Celebration (really!) ... But that wasn't what you were asking about (for a minute, I thought you were my buddy Michael 'Card Walker' Crawford) was it?

Disney likes to get maximum bang for minimum info released. Realize they still haven't talked about RoL or Pandora and those are in active production.

So, everytime they stage a blogger whores/Mommy whores/Lifestyle whores event, they'll announce a few things when they have many other things upcoming.

Check with Dr. Blondie, but I think Disney is having a preview event for the new Disney Springs parking garage the week after next!

I'm pretty sure they were mechanical drawings and there are plenty of common sizes (like doors and stairs) to give a sense of scale.

I dunno ... I'm still on page 26 of this thread (albeit answering posts live now because Gotham just isn't that compelling!)

True, but nothing of the exterior of the building. Just mechanical renderings. It was a small piece of what normally is in a blueprint/schematic package.

Getting back to Epcot and specifically Food and Wine, how long is it until F&W kiosks just become permanent? Its getting to the point where stuffed shirts can make a valid argument that they could be year round money makers, with the exception of the vegan booth. F&W was done well enough for me to go back for the final weekend instead of a return visit for HHN at Universal. And is there any good reason the Odyssey can't become a permanent home to craft beer?

They are moving closer and closer to this.

Booths remain for Holidays Around the World (some) and now they've added them to Flower and Garden.

I was shocked during my July visit because EPCOT was so empty, then I realized all the clutter was gone and the walkways are huge.

The ONLY reason EPCOT is printing money is food and beverage sales. That is it ... getting rubes drunk or convincing others to book mediocre steakhouses six months out to have $42 chicken entrees a la carte for lunch is why EPCOT isn't bleeding like the park closest to it is.

Then don't go.

Epcot will never be what you want it to be.

It was for me ... from say 1982-1997 ... nowadays? It's a pleasant enough place to walk around with an adult beverage or two. But there's way too many dead spaces ... FW is an absolute mess with no cohesive vision whatsoever and now Disney is trying the same thing with WS. Oh and the ancient RoE needs replacing (sorta did back in 2002).

It's just plain sad ... I recall almost a decade ago walking into a Macy's on Labor Day Weekend and they were setting up their Christmas section. I'm sorry, but I'm thinking about Thanksgiving and what it will bring.

I'm just thrilled beyond words for all the lifestylers and bloggers and folks closing out the EPCOT International Drinking Fest will be able to 'celebrate Christmas' over Veteran's Day Weekend. Shouldn't the Spirit of Christmas be in our hearts every day of the year?
I agree. I remembered years ago seeing a Christmas in July sale advertisement on television for a store that doesn't specialize in Christmas decorations.

It is one thing having stores that only sell Christmas decorations only all year round, but there is no excuse for rest the stores selling Christmas stuff so early.

The parks are still near-pristine and spotless every morning. Sure, queues here and there are a little dusty but most people don't notice that. The parks get dirtier throughout the day for several reasons: higher volume of people moving through the parks - its very hard to clean a queue when its packed with people all day. Also, guests/society becoming more self-centered, lazy, careless, and disrespectful.

No excuse.

That's like saying ''My house was cleaner when we had no kids and one puppy ... now, we have six kids, two dogs and three cats and the house is dirtier' ... sorry, that means you need to work harder or direct more resources into it.

People are pigs now. But they were in the 70s and 80s too ... some would argue (I would) that in many ways they were worse (it was common place as a child for me to see people fling garbage out of moving autos).

Tiny WDP kept the MK and EPCOT near pristine, but the huge -- and never more profitable -- WDC of the 21st century is allowed lame excuses?

Nope. Not on my watch. Not in my thread.
