Delaware is a smaller target!I find it very amusing three theaters in Delaware are playing "The Interview", but not one in PA.

I was hoping the Roxy would have picked it up. It would have been a boon for them and would have helped the Film Society.I was a little surprised at first. In Philly the best chance probably would have been the Ritz, but Landmark Theaters runs the Ritz and they passed. It sounds like after Sony was able to get it into or around a certain market that they began to focus their efforts elsewhere to ensure a broader distribution. It's playing in Wilmington, DE which isn't too far.
“Sony has had so many bookings coming in it is now focused on areas where a theater can guarantee a two-week run, or longer,” said one source involved with the situation this afternoon. “They’re so inundated with bookings they are being more careful about where they are booking [The Interview] in all the different markets.”
he's starting to look like DOC BROWN from Back to the Future.
If anybody would like the full story, the book... Disney Wars spells the whole thing out. Very shocking actually.
Oh, no! Are we doing something to upset the rich people again. What are we thinking trying to make it accessible for people that don't have yacht to sell to pay it.
I posted this earlier in the thread but it seemed to get lost.
I manage a movie theater. The reason theaters started pulling out was because of the threats online claiming theater locations playing the film would get bombed. No one in the industry wants another DarkKnight incident on their hands!
At this point, only independent theaters will be showing the film. You still will have a hard time finding it the bigmovie theater companies, not to mention they have a list of stipulations to have the film including security wanted and being on a list for the FBI so they know who is showing the movie...
Well. There's a lot a reasons the dark night incident happened. State sponsored terrorism wasn't one of them.
And it couldn't happen to a nicer company.Erm, No that's not the case they offered Gold Club 33 members a chance to move to platinum (more perks 4x the price from $4,000/year to $12,000 year) immediately after upgrading Disney did one of it's famous 'Policy Changes' which effectively took away the added benefits which they used to entice the gold members to upgrade.
This had absolutely NOTHING to do with making club more accessible it was a 'Bait and Switch' scheme like what we see in WDW all the time. The changes to the premium AP from a 20% discount to a 10% discount, TiW changes.
Trouble is Disney got caught and the people they tried this stunt on let's face it have MOJO so Disney has been refunding lots of membership money.
And it couldn't happen to a nicer company.
Again I apologize for jumping into a conversation that I wasn't even a little bit familiar with. I responded to what I thought was happening and it turns out that it was nothing of the sort. Who knew? Anyway, I understand now, so we can move on and know that Disney is getting what they deserve.
I just always have a reaction to the childish Wal-Mart reference that everyone gets when we say something that the super traditionalist don't agree with. I enjoy a good conversation even when I am proven wrong, but, I hate with a passion the constant need to label and attempt to insult people to try and prove a point. To me, that just screams that there isn't a strong factual argument, even if there is one. That is more what I reacted to, but, I shouldn't have done that, sorry!
A few pictures in an advert on social media is nowhere in the ballpark of the security concerns of MM+. Was Topps able to track the kids movement, know what they ate, what their home address is? Comparing the two is ridicEisner being accused of something that was one of the big privacy fears from MM+, while folks here are celebrating him and saying he would never allow MM+.
I can see Universal running a campaign showing a guest waking up one morning, deciding to go to Universal, leaving their phone at home, walking up to a restaurant... 'table for two' 'of course sir', then walking up to a ride, no reservation needed... then at the end they say 'Universal... now that's *my* kind of magic!'.
It's amazing that Universal has not done that already, Went to the Mannheim Steamroller concert at UNI, After that went on a few rides - had FOTL and then went to dinner at Hard Rock cafe they were busy and they had a private event - which closed off capacity yet we were seated 35 minutes later.
No 60 days pre-booking of rides which I have not been able to do since WDW IT screwed up my account 2 years ago during one of the MM+ "tests",
No 180 day booking of my dining plans. Amazing how that works...
This is true. The restaurant thing is largely due to not having the equivalent of DDP (and even worse free DDP) and having the vast majority of guests being either locals or staying off property. People aren't "captive" like at WDW so are a lot more likely to eat off property. Before the push to sell DDP or give it away for free I remember going to WDW and not booking reservations for anything. We stil ate at good restaurants but there was a much bigger walk up business. To be fair, Universal handles way, WAY less people...to the point of the two resorts being nearly incomparable.
And Disney has abandoned And highly underutilized dining capacity. To be fair, Universal handles way, WAY less people...to the point of the two resorts being nearly incomparable.
Yup. It's incredibly strange how the resort that handles so much more people has restaurants closed for most of the year at its most popular park and the one that handles much less keeps theirs open. Very strange indeed. And Disney has abandoned And highly underutilized dining capacity.
It's most likely due to more people becoming health conscience and turning to fresh fruit and vegetables for their sustenance. "Kitchen Kabaret" and "Food Rocks" at EPCOT played a big roll in helping to educate the guests. And Disney has abandoned And highly underutilized dining capacity.
What does that have to do with Disney keeping Diamond Horeshoe, Tortuga Tavern, and Tomorrowland Terrace closed for most of the year? Not to mention Adventureland Veranda always being closed. It's most likely due to more people becoming health conscience and turning to fresh fruit and vegetables for their sustenance.
