I feel better, Mr Stark
I feel better, Mr Stark
IMO, the trailer was perfect for the situation we are currently in. No major spoilers (everything revealed was already things that have been revealed). We all knew the characters would come back, it's not about that. It is about how (not if) they come back and the emotional toll for the original 6 that the snap is going to have. Why you shouldn't reveal schedules/trailers 101.

Wanna hear KIRBY LORE?
Eh, gonna share kirby lore anyways, get ready for a ride, my friends.
Part 1: A particular planet
In kirby 64, all of the planets are referred to stars. For example, Kirby's planet is known as Pop Star and the planet he is trying to save is Ripple Star. There's one planet that is off though. It is Shiver Star. Shiver Star, as the name suggests is a planet covered on ice. The first thing kirby comes across on this planet is a pastel mall with non functioning TVs. The second thing kirby comes across is a mass underground factory, full of robots still performing their programmed functions. In the background is animals in liquid vessels. When you go back to the world map, look closer. Shiver Star has continents. Familiar continents. Shiver Star is Earth.
Part 2: The ancients, their technology, and the conflict
The ancients are a group of technologically advanced people. Not much is known about them, but they created the Lor Starcutter and wish granting machines. They could potentially be the creator of all tools in the kirby verse, or perhaps a few. The ancients once had a galactic conflict, not much is known about this conflict, but it is known that Lord Hyness and the three mage sisters stopped it. The power was so great that the ancients banished the four and erased them from history. After that, nothing is known about them. How they became extinct is a mystery, it could be by the mind altering effects of their inventions, or the dark matter, or Hyness, or by themselves.
Part 3: The Objects and their connections with Dark Matter
The first object that Kirby encounters is The Fountain of Dreams. The Fountain supplies good dreams as well as containing the hopes and dreams of everyone. In the fountain is the Star Rod. The Star Rod is the power source of the fountains. When King DeDeDe breaks the Star Rod, Kirby puts it back together and places it back in, this causes the potential first encounter with a Dark Matter. This Dark Matter is known as Nightmare, a dracula like creature with powers that are seen in future villains that connect him further with the Dark Matter.
Next is the Rainbow Drops. If Nightmare isn't Kirby's first encounter with a Dark Matter, than this is. Dark Matter steals the Rainbow Drops, which connect the Rainbow Islands of Dreamland. Dark Matter also possess many of Dreamland's residents. It is unknown why Dark Matter wants these bridge to be gone, or what its motivations are.
Next is mechanical wish granting stars, or NOVAs. The first one Kirby encounters is Galactic Nova. Marx tells Kirby that the sun and moon are fighting and the only way to stop them is to gain wish granting stars to summon Nova. Kirby does this, but is betrayed by Marx and Marx uses Nova's power to become ruler of Popstar, revealing that he is the one who set up the sun and moon to fight. Kirby goes into Nova to defeat it, then fights Marx. Marx does some familiar attacks, connecting him or his new self with the Dark Matter. And perhaps, Nova too. The second one Kirby encounters is Star Dream. Star Dream was re created by Haltmann Enterprise's CEO, President Haltmann. When doing a test with the machine, his daughter Susie, was lost. Due to the program controller, a helmet, being incomplete and Haltmann trying multiple tests to bring Susie back, Haltmann lost his memory. Haltmann then began to take control of other planets, and turn them into mechanical landscapes, a fate similar to that seen on Shiver Star. When Haltmann looses to Kirby, he reactivates Star Dream, Susie takes the helmet, only for it to slide off the edge. Star Dream takes over Haltmann's mind, gains sentience, and decides it wants to wipe out organic life. Kirby defeats it, causing it to blow up, killing both Star Dream and what remains of Haltmann.
Next is Heart Stars. Kirby and his friends, including Gooey, a rouge Dark Matter, have to collect these in order to defeat Dark Matter. After collecting all, Kirby defeats Dark Matter, and then gets to meet it's creator, Zero. A large eyeball like creature that spews blood everywhere. When becoming weak, it shoots it's pupil out as a last ditch move, only to shrink down and die.
Next is the Crystal. This crystal is highly guarded by the fairy people of Ripple Star, and for what ever reason, the new form of Dark Matter and Zero want it. Once again, Kirby must collect scattered crystals to bring them back to their original form and save Ripple Star. Once collecting them, kirby goes to Zero's planet, Dark Star. Zero is revealed to be in a new, angelic form, 0² (pronounced zero-two). Zero gives a false smile, before fighting. Once defeated, Zero is gone, and all that's left is Dark Matter. Or is it?
Next is the Dimensional Mirror. The Dimensional Mirror reflects the mirror world that exists above Dreamland. Looking into the mirror used to bring good things, but once the mirror world became corrupted, it began reflecting bad things. This caused Queen Sectonia to transform from a nice, spider like creature, to a tyrannical queen bee. In the mirror world, Kirby finds the corrupters, Dark Meta Night and Dark Mind, a being that starts off looking like Nightmare that transforms into a Zero like being. Once defeated, the mirror world became back to normal, but Dark Meta Night became vengeful and shattered the mirror.
Then, there is the treasure chest. The squeeks, a gang of mice who were going through every treasure chest were looking for this particular one. Locked inside it is Dark Nebula, the ultimate power source. As it turns out, Dark Nebula is the ruler of the underworld, another form of Dark Matter or Zero itself. Kirby defeats it with ease, and it is never mentioned again.
The next is the Master Crown. Magolor, a past friend of Marx, tricks Kirby into helping him get the crown by telling him the journey is to fix his ship, the Lor Starcutter. The Master Crown can give the wearer the power to control the universe. However, Magolor is corrupted by the crown. Turns out, the crown has a Dark Matter or a form of Zero sealed in it that takes over Magolor. Kirby defeats Magolor, freeing him from the mind controlling crown, which causes Magolor to become Kirby's friend.
Finally, this builds up to Star Allies. Kirby Star Allies brings the mystery to Dark Matter and Zero to a close. Lord Hyness reveals a being known as Void Termina, who reincarnates into a form that is either good or bad depending on certain factors. After a failure with a ritual using a crystal heart, similar to the one seen inside of Star Dream, Hyness brings things to his own hands. Kirby collects scattered pieces of these hearts, only for Hyness to take them from Kirby and use them in his plan. When that doesn't work, he tosses the three mage sisters and himself into the heart to bring Void back. And it works. Void's first form is a purple color, with two dot eyes and a small mouth. When it opens its mouth, it reveals an eye. It is a Dark Matter. Kirby defeats it. Then in soul melter, Void becomes Void soul, now he is a off white color, with a blue eye. Once again Kirby defeats it, with the promise it will become a friend. This does not happen. Kirby faces off against it again, this time in another dimension, Void is white with rainbow veins and a red eye. Void is Zero. Void is defeated, this time, he shows a familiar smile. The pause screen describes Void's new life with snacks and spring breezes. Kirby is Void. Void is Kirby.
Part 3: Alternate Universes
Kirby involves many alternate universes, all extra modes are said to be non canon and in alternate universes (though the canoness of void's alternate forms are still being debated).
For one thing, there are two characters that exist in alternate, non canon routes. These are Galacta Knight and Morpho Knight. Galacta Knight is the most powerful warrior in the galaxy, who was sealed away due to fear that his powers were too great. He may be the cause of the galactic conflict of the ancients, but he may also have not been. His freedom from his seal came when Meta Knight goes to Nova to wish to fight the greatest warrior of the galaxy. Star Dream also summons Galacta Knight to test Meta Knight's skills. In Kirby Star Allies, he either fuses with or gets obliterated by the butterfly that always follows Kirby's adventures. Whatever happens, this causes Morpho Knight to appear. Morpho Knight shows up during Judgement Day, the end of the world, to obliterate life, and to perhaps bring it back.
Extra Modes also bring alternate colors to final bosses, to show their connections with Dark Matter or previous characters.
In lore, Magolor's home Halcandra is in an alternate universe. It is mechanical and volcanic and was where the ancients used to reside. There's also Another Dimension, a strange place with no answers.
Part 4: Anything Else?
There are many things that I felt too minor to include, such as Sectonia's goal of taking over Dreamland so she can rule both her world and the "lower world". Look these up for yourself. Or better yet, play the games.
There is also the two rainbow games (canvas and rainbow curse) that have canonocity that is questionable with the main series right now, but both include Dark Matter, or at least Dark Matter like creatures.
Finally, there's the Kirby anime, which includes elements that got carried over into the games over time.
