I found Wreck it Ralph thoroughly average with a couple great gags. Really, it just made me want a movie about the Princesses going on shenanigans and reminded me how much I want Gal Gadot to punch me in the face.

EDIT: I will also say there's some decent commentary on the good and bad of the internet. And Taraji P. Henson pulls a fun performance.

Did anyone else feel like this movie kind of was the opposite in terms of theme to the first one. Like a lot of the characters and messages did a 180? Not saying the movie was bad - it was a blast and I loved all of the Easter Eggs. The entire aesthetic of the internet was great.

I think the first one was Ralph embracing himself and then we follow up with Ralph taking embracing himself too far to the point that he pushes Vanellope away over his own selfishness. It actually kind of makes sense

So did Vanellope really LEAVE Sugar Rush, or does she play Slaughter Race at night.
I see where you are coming from - it does seem like natural progression for Ralph. However, my understanding is that Vanellope left her game for good, which goes against the themes of the first movie right? Like not going turbo - putting the game/community above yourself, being selfless to be a hero, etc.
