Rant time:

Bought a $750 Laptop after Christmas. Not even a month old, no files on it yet, only installed team fortress 2, and it froze, and now won't come on at all.

Rant over.
Does the laptop have a removable battery? If so there is a usually a mobo reset under the battery that will allow a quick wipe of the CMOS and possibly allow a boot.

If not the case, let me know the brand and model number and I'll see if I can give you some quick debug techniques.

Well, unfortunately, I'm on the road for a business trip so I can't mess with it now.

Hmm interesting! any particular reason why?
For one, WoM may have been just another omnimover ride but it had its own identity and art style of what the future could look like. Test Track doesn’t have that and feels like a modern car factory turned into a thrill ride. And for another, Test Track may be a thrill ride and it’s 2.0 form is more glamorous than its predecessor(s) but it doesn’t work like other fast rides such as Radiator Springs because the main ride feels more like a simulator and then some.

I would have redone the ride, while WoM was an amazing people eater we ended up getting one of Disney best attempts of teaching STEM. It’s hard to tell initially but the design a car is scientifically accurate to an extent and you can learn basics of car design from it. To the point that my mom and I took some time to read about car design and found that using some of those design choices you can get a better car. With a kid that could go farther. Do you know the amount of kids I hear on that ride trying to prove their scores. It’s teaching science subtly and in a simple form.

So for me I think the one area that Test Track lacks is the aesthetics...World of Motion is a beautiful building.

I'm not sure why the tarp in front remains even with the second redo of Test Track, but it is what it is.

My main push for a World of Motion redo would be that they can get thrill rides from anywhere, preferably in World Showcase. I might have kept it until the early-mid 2000s when trackless technology came about, and World of Motion could have been an amazing trackless dark ride.

I guess we can title this segment 'Monday morning imagineering' - but here's another what if imagineering situation --

Would you have kept World of Motion and refurbed it or continued with history and redone it to Test Track?
Both. I'm not 100% on Epcot expansion plots and size but I'm sure there was plenty room to expand the World of Motion to add Test Track, while also keeping the history lesson of the omnimover.

I feel like this Ride is one of the few times you need to really understand what was going on to see why it was closed. GM was struggling and result to signing yearly contract renewal for the ride with Disney which is not good for either party. It also did help that the ride was starting to cost more to opperate than the amount of riders it was getting thus leaving Disney to not spend as much to maintain it. (There is a part where the ride cost more than the value it brings to the park this was starting to happen). In fact the ride actually broke down on its last day while Disney and GM officials were riding it forcing them to evacuate.
In order to refresh the brand and to bring more value to the park they sign a contract to build a new thrill ride. This Test Track was born.

Wasn't there also a delay in Test Track's opening. I might be remembering that wrong, but didn't it open months after it was supposed to?
