One Little Spark...
Sorcerers Apprentice Season 2
International Edition

Challenge 1
Ye Come Seekin' Adventure and Salty Ol' Pirates, eh? Or the Lost Ark?

For this, our first week, our three new teams must Imagineer a brand new E-ticket for Disneyland Paris's Adventureland area. As you can see in the image below, the land is designed in a "U" shape, resulting in two extremely close dead ends. In the middle you have the Bazaar and Adventure Isle. On the left you have Indiana Jones et le Tempe du Peril and it's surrounding archaeological theming. On the right, there is the Pirates of the Caribbean area. At the top of the "U" you will recognize a large expansion plot from the picture posted earlier. Your job this week is to design a new mini-area on that plot, once deemed for the Indiana Jones Adventure. You have three options; build an Indiana Jones expansion, a Pirates expansion, or something completely original. Either way you go, though, you are required to have 1 large-scale E-ticket, 1 food option, and 1 merchandise location. Remember the intricate design that went into separating the areas of Adventureland, and pay attention to your aesthetics.

Sanctuaire de L'exotisme
(Sanctuary of the Exotic)

The mid-1800s saw a boom of scientific and engineering advancements. From steam power to world exploration, humanity was jumping into a industrial, and later technological, revolution.

The leaders of this were the visionary minds who appreciated not only the scientific and mechanical, but the mystical and exotic.

Son of an Indian Noble, a young Prince Dakkar (later known as Captain Nemo) was sent by his father to experience this European Renaissance for himself. While attending studies in France, he befriended like minded and adventurous souls, such as Lord James Mystic (father of Henry Mystic) and Harrison Hightower, II (father of Harrison Hightower, III).

(Disneyphiles will realize, these are the fathers of characters key to Mystic Pointe, founders of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, or S.E.A.)

Together, they formed a close relationship, and decided to found la Société de l'Aventurier (The Adventure Society). This club, made up of like minded individuals, had the aspiration to bring the exotic wonders of the world back to a central location where they could be cataloged and studied.

The question was, where to do so?

And so, the Sanctuary was born. A massive 5 story greenhouse containing multiple biomes, and the objects, animals, and sometimes people, that occupy them in the outside world.

2544.jpg

Pleased with this workspace, the Society grew in membership quickly, with items being constantly sent from around the world by contemporary explorers in the mid-1800s to round out the collection of species and environments.

Famous explorers, including a retired Nicholas Baudin (Tasmania), Edward Eyre (Australia), a retired Alexander Von Humboldt (S. America), Sir James Clark Ross (Antarctica), and the renowned Dr. David Livingstone (Africa) all contributed to the collection.

For a decade, the Sanctuary served as a central research center and archive of the exotic and unknown.

Then, the unthinkable happened. After a brief return from a war ravaged India, Prince Dakkar removed himself from the Society to pursue his own personal motives, and his financial support of the Sanctuary likewise dissipated.

At the same time, Lord James Mystic was lost on an expedition to Antarctica, and was assumed dead, as he was never seen again.

The Sanctuary remained in operation through the Society Trust for many decades after these events, but was eventually abandoned due to operating costs. Further, the greedy obsession of Harrison Hightower, III (son of Harrison Hightower, II) and his focus on using immoral and illegal methods to collect artifacts and increase his personal wealth, was the end of la Société de l'Aventurier.

As a young man, Lord Henry Mystic witnessed the collapse of la Société, and vowed to never see that happen again. As a reasult, he later fell into personal seclusion for many years, until approached, much later in life, by Hightower, III to begin adventuring again many decades later, and the founding of S.E.A.

The building sat, without care, for many years, with the exotic animals, artifacts, and people trapped inside to do as they saw fit.

Fast forward to the roaring 20s. The S.E.A. society has grown under the leadership of Lord Mystic and the influence of Hightower, III.

It absorbed another society of like minded individuals, the Adventurers Club. This was largely due to the younger ambitions of Hightower, III, and the fact he sought to unite all these disparate organizations under one banner in his youth (as evidenced by the picture in Aunty's Beach House in Aulani)

ThePillagersBrigade_zps506b98d0.jpg

The Club seeks to carry forward the mission of S.E.A., as founded by la Société de l'Aventurier and their forward thinking minds.

(all of the past few paragraphs, by the way, are Disney Park Canon, the Adventurers Club really did get absorbed by S.E.A.)

As general society and technology advance, the modern Adventurers Club, who carries the torch for S.E.A. and their grandfather organization, la Société de l'Aventurier, finds out about the rumored Sanctuary, and purchases the land.

After surveying the property, they find that the Sanctuary has developed it's own unique ecosystem, and decide that, to help fund the operation of the facility, they will offer tours and other activities.

Their development plan first required they assume control of the environment. After 100+ years, the Sanctuary had taken on a life of it's own. In addition, over the years, poachers had discovered that rare and unique animals live here, and have created camps to hunt them and further their own fortunes.

To begin their reclamation of the Sanctuary, they planned a park with winding paths and restaurant. As people entered the Sanctuary, they would be treated to an environment that was welcoming and under control (unlike the biomes deeper in the building)...

Guests enter and are greeted with winding downhill trails where they can experience real wildlife and interact as they see fit. Club certified guides are always on hand to share interesting information about the animals being observed.

As Guests move further in, they find an open clearing with a large working fountain dedicated to Société de l'Aventurier. This fountain is actually the work of Lord Henry Mystic, who saw this as his last nod to his father before abandoning the building. Contained within are nods to the previous members, including Prince Dakkar, and other features. Why it still remains to work is a matter of wonder for the modern Club, but it does, so they leave it operational.

Eateries

There are two new restaurants associated with this environment. One is a quick service eatery, the other is a full service Character Dine experience.

They share menus, kitchens and names (similar to Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom).

Le Verre Jungle (the Glass Jungle)
Le Verre Jungle is a restaurant that offers exotic foods from around the world. It's mission is to provide unique culinary experiences. It is also a character meal offering (expanding the offerings at DLP from 2 to 3).

The exterior and interior of the restaurant are newer construction than the neighboring Greenhouse, but done in a similar style. Plants and an airy atmosphere greet guests for a unique dining experience.

The restaurant has both a Full Service section and a Quick Service window based restaurant. This means that guests can either grab a light snack here, or a quick meal, or have a full dining experience.

All Full Service meals are character meals with an alternating roster of Disney Afternoon characters from Ducktales and Rescue Rangers.

Quick service meals, on the other hand, are also treated with a show. The Club found that there are talking birds, and talented birds, available in the location. As a result, they have trained them (using carefully placed access to food) to put on a show.

Guests who sit in the dining area for the quick service section are treated to the full Tiki Bird show every 30 minutes. This is not like the other Tiki Bird shows that exist at Disney. There is no wait, and it is not a separate attraction. Rather, it's a plus for diners.

Breakfast

Breakfast is not available at the Quick Service location.

Breakfast will not have a set menu. Items will vary based on season, and be largely locally sourced. Guests will be served the same breakfast items, served family style on platters, per table. This is a very european tradition, and should appeal to local guests there.

A platter of meats, consisting of an assortment of sage breakfast sausages, spiced turkey, sweet ham, and peppered chicken breast.

Another platter will have an assortment of thinly sliced cheeses, such as swiss, guyere, and fine sharp cheddar.

Another platter will have an assortment of fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, and sweet melon.

This will be served with soft boiled and hard boiled eggs and an assortment of freshly baked crusty breads, as well as an assortment of soft butter, honey butter, and various house made jellies.

Experience

Connecting Guests to the new attraction, a pathway from Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril to the Pirates of the Caribbean will be built, completing the original U-Shape design into a circular design. This new path will closely follow the water line and bridge over the currently existing waterfall, thereby rounding out this section of Disneyland Paris, and keeping guest flow in mind.

Untitled20.jpg

From this new pathway, two smaller paths break off to enter the Sanctuary, one from the direction of Pirates leads directly to the Sanctuary, while a second smaller path will break from the waterfall bridge and pass through the smaller clubhouse of the Society, this pathway will provide clues to the history of the Sanctuary for guest to find, as well as interactive mysteries for them to discover utilizing technology similar to the Treasures of the Seven Seas attraction recently adopted at Walt Disney World.

Though not a treasure hunt, per se, this external part of the attraction, when combined with experiences and clues available within the attraction, will explain the history of the building, it's founders, and provide fodder for Disney Forums to debate for years...as well as being tons of mysterious fun!

2947743672_25b1ec39dd_z.jpg

Guests will enter le Sanctuaire at ground level some 40 feet above the actual base of the attraction. As they enter, they will slowly descend to a lower level through a series of walking paths through the greenhouse jungle.

This allows a much larger interior than the exterior facade visible to the Guests reveals, and is also key to the trills of the attractions as a whole.

ScreenShot2014-07-10at84044PM_zpsf3330036.png

This entrance is represented by the level plateau at the edge of the Sanctuary cut-through. Through these various entrances to the Sanctuary, many low incline pathways will snake their way down to the various experience to be found. These path ways will be designed so that no two ways down into the Sanctuary will be alike, whether its the sounds that they will hear or the sights they will encounter.

Lining the sides of these pathways while be exotic plants, both real and imagined, from around the world and our imaginations.

Rides

Le Sanctuaire offers not one, not two, but THREE new experiences for Guests. An E-Ticket ride which is a modern adaptation of the Jungle Cruise, and two C-Ticket attractions which offer thrills for all ages.

Untitled9.jpg

Jungle Cruise

This ride is a Disneyland staple, and one that must be a part of the Adventureland experience for Guests and fanatics alike. So, this is where it will live in Paris!

The ride, however, is reimagined for the 21st century, utilizing new technologies and new ideas, and changing up the script, however it does have nods to it's older brothers in Disneyland California, Magic Kingdom, and Disneyland Tokyo.

(picture to go here, I need 15 minutes to work on that...or I'll post an older version from our thread rushing...)

This attraction has actually been reimagineered by blending three existing Disney attractions.

1) The Jungle Cruise
2) Splash Mountain
3) The Great Movie Ride

Guests will board their boat and be greeted by one of two different character archetypes. The first is the novice Skipper, who has just passed out of training. His jokes during the cruise will relate strictly to his newness and unfamiliarity with the scenes and situations at hand.

The second is the grizzled disgruntled Captain. He insists on being called "Captain" as he's been "touring the waters for years". His jokes will be more sarcastic in nature, and he will not be happy to see others happy, and as a result may (or may not) choose to pick on Guests as well.

The two characters offer a variety to the ride that currently does not exist.

But it goes further....

Once aboard, Guests are taken through the normal scenes of the Jungle Cruise (as indicated on the map posted), but are also treated with a twist halfway through the ride after your grizzled "Captain" or your "Skipper" has gotten the boat stuck.

You see, Poachers have taken up residence within the Greenhouse since it's known to harbor rare animals, and one of them has taken over your boat.

The Poacher continues to steer the group into a cave, where he's heard that special animals and treasures abound.

So, here's where a certain aspect Guests may not notice comes into effect. Throughout their journey, a hydraulic system has been actually making them sail UPHILL!

Untitled8.jpg

After passing through the caves, which are littered with various environments the Greenhouse cannot support (arctic, plains, desert), the Poacher (and his unwilling "crew" of Guests) encounter a den of snakes, and the Poacher turns down the obviously wrong path, and down a 20 foot drop.

Halfway through, the boat settles, but it turns out they are sucked into a whirlpool! The boat turns around backwards (using ride mechanics), and slides another 20 feet downhill!

At this point, the Poacher is beyond panicked, and as soon as the boat runs aground again after it's second drop, runs into the forest...

And...

Unfortunately...

Into the mouth of a giant carnivorous plant who snaps him up.

At the same time, our "Skipper" or "Captain" comes riding in on an elephant animetronic, shooting his pistol in the air as the plant snaps down on it's lunch, to save our day.

The rest of the cruise is relaxing, as Guests return to their point of boarding.

Here is the outline of the ride.

1) Boarding
2) Jungle / Skipper Introductions
3) Short talk about the Rainforest, insects and birds
4) Inspiration Falls and Python
5) Poachers Camp and Gorillas
6) Jokes
7) Elephants
8) Sandstone, Giraffes, Zebras, Antelope, Lions, Cheetah
9) Poachers escaping Rhino gag
10) Talk about Poachers who snuck in, Crocodile Country, Hippos, Albert Falls and Lean Gag
11) Crashed Plane
12) Headhunter Camp and Boat Attack
13) Backside of Water
14 - 16) Cambodian Temples
17) Abandoned Poachers Camp
18) Crocodiles
19) Poacher Kidnapping
20) Enter Temple / Cave
21) Mysterious Cave
22) Mysterious Winter
23) Desert Summer
24) African Plains, Poacher shoots at Dodo
25) Turns a corner and enters a room covered with snakes ("Why did it have to be snakes?" joke) A giant python rears his head out of the water and threatens the boat, scaring the Poacher who turns the boat down the obviously marked "wrong path"
26) Boat goes down a small hill into a wailing storm (think...maelstrom, Lightning and Wave effects...what scary animal can we put here?)
27) Boat goes down a large hill to the whirlpool
28) Whirlpool turns the boat around backwards
29) Boat goes down another large hill to the basin, where it gets stuck and our skipper saves the day.
30) ???
31) Trader Sams Trading Camp
32) Passes by the outdoor eating area and fountains where you spy other guests eating and enjoying themselves in the open area outside of the shops / restaurant. Skipper makes a joke about the "most unpredictable of all animals" or something like that, referring to the guests.
33) Dock and depart. The departure area takes you back to the restaurants / gift shop.

Rider Restrictions: None

Rider Restrictions: Limited to those 50 inches or taller in height.

Tournée à travers le ciel
Skyline Tour Coaster

For the younger and less gutsy adventures, a single-rail flyer style roller coaster has been built inside the Sanctuary. Take a one of a kind aerial tour of the Sanctuary high about the wild-life and see the Sanctuary like the adventures above. Experience the thrills of zip-lining as you dart across the Green House. Guest start off in a small station hidden in the trees near the entrance where they board their flyers with two guest facing forwards and two facing backwards. As the flyer leaves the station the voice of Morgan Freeman comes over the cars speaker system.

BB_Vert_1MC_tcm13-14526.jpg

As the flyer climbs towards its traveling altitude, Freeman describes an abridged history of the Sanctuary (to appeal to kids).

The the flyer levels out and begins it’s first drop Morgan Freeman describes the areas below them as they pass. Then a quick dive for thrills, into the thick of the jungle darkening the area around them as bioluminescent plant life come to life around them.

May%20Universal%202007%20029.jpg

Coming out of the jungle, the flyer swings past a tour groups before flying below zip-lining adventures.

The flyer once again flies through a section of forest, where it faces its last encounter where a flock of bird fly down from the sky past the rider. Escaping out of the last jungle section the flyers arrive back in the station where Morgan Freeman finishes with “Thank you for joining us today and please join me as a member of the Adventures club”.

IMG_5304.JPG

The rescue system will be completely innovative, in the case of an accident or incident.

untitled11-jpg.58535

Due to the limited space for FireTrucks and the priority of guest safety, Disney worked closely to develop a brand new safety vessel for this style of coaster. This "tracker Crawler" sits parked at the loading platform and will follow a track slightly above the real track. When engaged the vessel crawls along the track (self powered) "sweeping" up any stuck/stationary car. In the case of emergency unloading the crawler can "dock" with the carriages, allowing for a guest to be unloaded. The crawler can then lower the platform to ground level for save evac.

Rider Restrictions: Unlike other versions of this ride system, there are no restrictions.

Innovations

Water Reclaimation

To go along with the new environmentally friendly drive being pursued by Disney Global, many new, innovating technologies and designed have been added to the Sanctuary building, many hidden to the guest.

The first of these designs is the "guttering" design that can be found in the bracing that holds the glass, these hidden gutters will fun the water towards the back of the facility so that guest will never see water running off the Sanctuary and the water will be collected.

This collected water is then treated and either pumped into the ride, ran to the kitchens for use, or for bathroom usage.

This massive water conservation system will be the first of it's scale in the world.

Enclosed Environment Management

The pylons supporting the roof, which will be hidden from immediate view disguised as tree trunks, will contain small heating units that will be used to heat small wires running along the tops of the glass they support.

This heating unit will serve two main practices:

1) Providing a heat barrier against the cold French winters to protect the vegetation and animal life within, and;

2) Preventing heat from escaping the Sanctuary and lowering heating cost for the building.

Lastly, this will also aid, preventing snow from building up on the glass and providing a clear view year round and blocking the natural sunlight required for this environment to thrive.

Another new technology will be environmental emulation, that will allow the environment around the guest to come to life as clouds and "Storms" form through out the day. This extra step will be bring to life the Sanctuary and will be accomplished through simple holograph techniques. By hiding fog machines and 4k projects in the trees and vegetation,we are capable of creating the illusion of environmental and weather changes such as a low floating fog to a haze summer day and everything in between. This extra touch will make each visit to the Sanctuary a unique experience.

Summary

In all, this is an amazing new experience for all Disney Guests, and one that is sure to attract international attention.

Port de Mystère, or Port of Mystery
Welcome to Port de Mystère, or Port of Mystery in English. Hidden deep in the heart of the jungle, the legend of Sinbad comes to life like nothing ever seen before. A mystical village of sorts emerges from the foliage, with a temple in the foreground featuring the groundbreaking main attraction, The Voyage of Sinbad: Sinbad's Legends. On the sides, you have a little hut selling some Wonders of the World, and an abandoned lighthouse called Sailor's Portside Inn. The idea of this challenge was to create something using either the Indiana Jones IP, the Pirates IP, or anything else we could think of to connect Adventureland into one big circle. From all of us here at Team Sea, we hope you enjoy our presentation.

Le Voyage du Sinbad: The Voyage of Sinbad
Queue: Guests walking through the new Port du Mystere will come upon a small cave opening in the center of a large rock structure. Next to the cave entrance flows a rather small waterfall that leads into a small pool. A series of rocks jut out from the rock face and through the waterfall. These rocks form the words "Le Voyage du Sindbad. The Legend of Sindbad."

After entering the dark and mysterious cave and traversing its twisted passages, guests will come upon a gigantic marble doorway with a column on each side imbedded in the rock face. Entering this strange ancient structure, guests will find themselves in the rotunda of an ancient library. Bookcases stuffed with books surround the wall and climb a good twenty feet up into the rotunda. Just above the never-ending bookshelves are a series of paintings, painted right onto the dome of the rotunda. Looking at the pairings, guests can see an image representing each of Sindbad's voyages: the Roc birds, the giants, and the others all represented on this beautiful and ancient dome. At the highest point of the rotunda, right in the center of the dome is another painting - a painting of a small wooden ship in the center of a raging storm. Could it be Sindbad's lost eighth voyage and the demise of the legendary pirate?

After a set of switchbacks, guests pass into a room on the far side of the rotunda. The ceiling is considerably lower, supported by a series of small columns connected by arches built into the ceiling, much like the crypt in the U.S. Capitol. On the far side of the room is the load area, through which an endless fleet of boats and guests pass through to begin their adventure.

Load Unload: Extension of library
Vehicle: A boat similar to the Phoenicians boat in Spaceship Earth, with 5 rows of 2.
Actual Ride Experience: A tiny lift hill transfers you from the library to a room where you see Sinbad talking to his grandson. Then another tiny lift where you see Sinbads shadow, and he starts to narrate the story of his voyages, and then you pass through an extended tunnel full of colorful lights, transferring you from the present time back to a storybook like world where these events actually happened. Then you enter your first scene, the Roc Attack. Based on the Fifth Tale, you pass by an eggshell with a baby roc coming out being opened by the sailors then you hear a deafening screech and in come flying 2 rocs one from the left and one from the right "dropping rocks" with splashes in the water. Sinbad is riding on a back of a third Roc like the Second Tale commanding the other two rocs to protect the baby rocs from the sailors.
6955f560a550ccd10047ebaaa72f51f3_zps31153a57.jpg

Then you have your first tiny drop, and enter The Giants Cave- Based on the Third Tale - Sinbad starts narrating Odessy's Cyclops story. The boat stops, as Sinbad realizes he mixed up the story. Sheep evaporate and a second giant is brought into the mix. - Scene start again - Pass by a smart giant fighting Sinbad, (a roaring fire going on across the giant will be a raft with the Sailors with the treasures of the giant ) while a dumb giant tries to reach for guests - guests narrowly escape down a small drop.
5b0b4e3f092994cda4059f10b223f4d1_zpscea57ff3.jpg

You the. Have another tiny drop, and transition to Ape Town-Fifth Tale. Pass by some man eating apes and some human skeletons with Sinbad being carried by the mokeys as their "King" holding a golden goblet with rubys on it.
4b76035a0d5244f9a5402eee120c1cd1_zpsf6156016.jpg

You then enter the next scene, Bird Demons - Seventh Tale. You see Sinbad being flown to the sky and Sinbad's struggling to get off. The "Sun" facing the boat, guests and Sinbad Narrowly escape by falling into the Sea.

This is where the major drop is in the ride. After that, you see the whale sending Sinbad back home, and his town rejoicing.

Here is the script for the ride:
NOTE: Voyage du Sindbad features two narrators; an old man (Sindbad) and his unnamed grandson. In this narration, Sindbad will speak French while his grandson will speak English, allowing both English and French speakers to understand the ride. The actual ride scenes will be dialogue-free with Sindbad/ grandson’s purpose being to expound on the action, giving guests more of the story than can be portrayed in the ride.

Load:
WOMAN SPEAKING BOTH ENGLISH AND FRENCH(Alternating): As you follow Sindbad, you will encounter sudden drops, rough seas, and legendary monsters. For your safety, please keep your arms and legs inside the boat at all times.

First Lift - The Grandfather and Grandson:

Both the GRANDFATHER and GRANDSON are shown only in shadow.

GRANDFATHER: Come, child. Let me tell you a story.

GRANDSON: (excitedly) Yeah! What story, grandpa? Is it the one about the Fisherman and the djinn? Or the story about the great Trojan War? Or maybe --

GRANDFATHER: It is none of these stories, child. This is a story dating back to when the world was young. When monsters roamed, and pirates roamed the seas searching for riches. This is the story of Sindbad.

GRANDSON: (Mystified) Woah! Sindbad? Who’s Sindbad?

GRANDFATHER: I will tell you…

-Music Swells as boats reach the top of the lift-

Second Lift and hallway - Meeting Sindbad

Animated shadows line the walls showing Sindbad in the midst of a sword fight, and other various adventurous shenaniganst.

GRANDFATHER: Sindbad was a heroic sailor who roamed the seas, searching for fortune and adventure.

GRANDSON: (Excited) Wow! So, Sindbad was a swashbuckling pirate and master sailor who fought monsters and took their treasures?

GRANDFATHER: Not exactly….

Roc Attack:

Passing scenes of broken Roc eggs.

GRANDFATHER (CONT.): He and his crew tried to break the eggs of the mighty Rocs. They certainly were not happy about it.

Rocs “drop” rocks, causing splashes around the boat.

GRANDSON: So, he and his crew were attacked and beaten by the Rocs?

GRANDFATHER: Not exactly.

Sindbad swoops by riding a Roc.

GRANDFATHER (CONT.): (chuckling) Sindbad always ended up on top.

GRANDSON: Wow! Are there any more stories, Grandpa?

GRANDFATHER: Of course, child. I’m reminded of another one….

GRANDFATHER’s voice echos as guests are sent down a relatively small drop.

Giants Cave

GRANDFATHER: Here’s another one. Sindbad and his crew were imprisoned by a gigantic cyclops.

GRANDSON: What was the cylops’ name?

GRANDFATHER: (Quickly shoving it off) Polyphemus. Anyway...Wait…

The boats stop, as does the scene.

GRANDSON: What’s wrong grandpa? This is the right story? Right?

GRANDFATHER: No. It’s not.

Scene starts up again. A second giant pops up.

GRANDFATHER (CONT.) No. There were two giants. One smart, the other stupid. Sindbad and his crew took their treasure. They were not happy.

GRANDSON: (Won back.) So, Sindbad and his crew stole the giant’s treasure? What happened?

The boat dips under the hand of the stupid giant and down a drop.

GRANDFATHER: They escaped.

Ape Town:

GRANDFATHER: Sindbad had a knack of getting himself out of particularly dangerous situations. Like the City of Apes.

GRANDSON: (frightened) C-city of...Apes?

GRANDFATHER: Yes, child. Frightening. Man-eating. Apes.

GRANDSON: I don’t like this story, Grandpa. Is there another one?

GRANDFATHER: Why are you frightened, child? You’ll miss the ending!

GRANDSON: Wh-what...happens?

GRANDFATHER: Sindbad is heralded as their king! Free to have their riches and respect!

GRANDSON: S-so (lightening up) the apes were friends to Sindbad?

GRANDFATHER: Yes! He saved the island, and gained their fortune.

GRANDSON: Wow! Sindbad surely does have luck on his side.

GRANDFATHER: Oh, but there is also the story of the Bird Demon.

Lift Hill: The Bird Demon:

GRANDSON: Bird Demon?

GRANDFATHER: Yes, the Bird Demon. These gigantic creatures flew Sindbad up an incredible height. Almost to the sun.

GRANDSON: The sun? Did he survive?

GRANDFATHER: Of course he did, child:

GRANDSON: How?

Music stops

GRANDFATHER: He fell into the sea

Big drop

The Journey Home - Hey Look. A Whale:

GRANDSON: So, Sindbad was left stranded in the middle of the ocean? How ever did he make it home.

GRANDFATHER: Oh, luck was on his side that day. He was picked up by a whale.

Whale comes into view

GRANDSON: A whale?!?!

GRANDFATHER: Yes, child. A whale. That whale helped him make it home.

GRANDSON: And what happened when he made it home:

Welcome Home Sindbad:

GRANDFATHER: He was welcomed back with a hero’s welcome.

GRANDSON: A hero’s welcome? What’s that like?

GRANDFATHER: Oh, everyone was there. There was music, there were women, even the sultan came.

GRANDSON: Wow! That’s incredible!

Guests take everything in. Compass of Your Heart is playing as they wind through the huge festival setting.

Epilogue - Just before unload:

GRANDSON: Hey, grandpa. How do you know so much about Sindbad?

GRANDFATHER: Why, child. I am Sindbad.

GRANDSON: So, you went on all of these adventures?

GRANDFATHER: Yes, child. It was I who travelled the seas all those years ago.

GRANDSON: Grandpa? Tell me another story?

The adventure starts at a stall near J and B. There would be a mirror on top of a crate and next to it will be a genie’s lamp when you use the compass the lights in the stall start flickering like show lights and the genie’s lamp lights up blue and smoke covers the mirror and lamp. Through video the genie appears on the mirror and Friend like Me (Instrumental) starts to play which is a conch shell phone ringing Genie picks it up and says it’s for you. You hear Sindbad saying you have to help and that he’s trapped underground and you must help him escape. The mirror shows your next location which is near L and D. Between L and D there will be a window when you use the compass a curtain opens up to reveal Iago(animatronic) he starts to complain about Jafar. Use the compass again and Iago “falls down”, but in reality the window gets foggy and feathers appear Iago trys to get up but slips and a curtain covers it up and shows the next location. The next location is near the Fantasyland entrance. There will be a window still and on top of the window still will be a black genie’s lamp use the magic compass and it lights up red and Genie Jafar comes onto the window and starts laughing and mocks you. Use the compass again and Genie (Wreck It-Ralph outfit) comes says he’s going to wreck it and hits Jafar with insanely large hands and defeats him. Friend like Me (Instrumental) starts to play, and the conch shell phone rings again Genie picks it up sighs and says it’s for you again (with a look of disappointment on his face). Sindbad says he’s still trapped and says to use the magic compass. Use the magic compass and a door opens up to reveal a cave Sindbad lying down with a conch shell next to him and plenty of treasure. Voyage Complete! The window areas/ bazaar area will be fenced off from guests.

Lost at Sea – Takes place throughout Caribbean Plaza: For this mission you will start off in a new location the Fountain of Youth it will be located behide Le Comptoir du Capitaine but not visible to Fantasyland. It would be a normal 2 tier fountain matching the rest of Caribbean Plaza. When you use the Magic Compass the first tier part of the fountain stops flowing and down comes a small waterfall and a message in a bottle is projected. You see Captain Jack Sparrow’s hand he opens it and reads out loud and he says “Urgent! Need Help Trapped in Sea Cave No Way Out! Help Soon Sindbad. Jack notices you and tells you to help and he must be on his way. The next location appears. The next location is between Le Coffre du Capitaine and POTC. A Major Mitchell's cockatoo (animatronic) is awaiting you use the magic compass and it moves forward and starts talking nonsense and flapping it’s wings use the compass again to make a glass bottle shattering noise be heard. The Major Mitchell's cockatoo leers at you and proceeds to bend down pick up a sail brings up and it shows your next location. The Major Mitchell's cockatoo goes back to its previous location squawks laugh and you hear the running of footsteps. The next area will be to the left of Sailor’s Portside Inn it is going to be an underground cave tunnel. Use the Compass and Davy Jones appears saying you’ll never see Sindbad again. Jack comes afterwards and start a sword fight with Davy Jones. Jack tells you to use your compass on a cannon pointed at Davy Jones. Use the Compass and the cannon lights up (inside) a firing noise occurs creating mist to cover the wall Davy Jones and Jack were projected on and the wall slides open were you see a raft floating on a pool of water and on top of the raft is Sindbad with new treasures on board Sindbad thanks you while Jack looks at the treasure and tries to reach it. I would come but I’m looking for Indy.” The next location is next Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril queue. In the one remaining tent there would be four stone tablets lower central one will be a Thuggee, the upper left one will be a big bird, the upper middle one a phoenix, and upper right will be a monkey. Use the compass and the Thuggee tablet comes to life you must then decide which of the upper tablets to use. The big bird you will have to activate twice. Phoenix once, and the monkey 3 times. We here at Team Sea believe we have a real winner on our hands. Not only is this a mini land in and of itself, but it also fits perfectly with the theme of Adventureland. Due to Indiana Jones taking place in the Middle East and Pirates taking place in the Caribbean, it is a perfect geographical fit because Sinbad is in the Mediterranean.
