We are on the same level of Anime love them. I am about the same level, I have one or two more series I enjoy like FCLC and The Last Exile, but no Anime and possibly film I have seen in recent years touch the story of the Wind rises, It touches on the topic of why we try to live while telling a story of love and drama, a great final film by Hayao
Yeah, it's Ghibli. I'll probably love it. I haven't seen a Ghibli movie yet I haven't at least enjoyed...though Howl's Moving Castle is overrated, I think. Then again, a lot of people say that about Mononoke...and it's one of my favorites...so...

I would take Mononoke over Howl's every day to be honest.

My Favorite of Ghibli is The Wind Rises followed by Castle in the Sky.

Spirited Away would take my #2 slot.

I can honestly say that another "overrated" one that I didn't really like (though still thoroughly enjoyed) was Ponyo. And, Disney REALLY marketed the heck out of that movie when it came out...and, well...all that hype just left me disappointed. I went in expecting another Spirited Away or Mononoke, and instead was presented with something that was a tale more like Kiki's or Totoro (The latter is probably my #3 pick for favorite Ghibli films).

I tend to lean towards the Steampunk/Fantasy/realism films. The Whimsical I enjoy but it's not my go to. Speaking which I need to get more of his files.

Steamboy was a great movie, along those lines, if you haven't seen it.

I think it's on Netflix.

Spirited Away and Totoro have grown on me. I didn't like them as much when I first saw them as when I saw Castle in the Sky, but the more I learn about the stories (and or catch things on rewatching) the better I find them to be. So, to me, they have better re-watchability than Castle in the Sky.

Spirited Away, in particular, catapulted itself into my #2 spot once I discovered what the "story" was really about, and I was just blown away with how well Miyazaki told it.

That being said, Mononoke has a rather one dimensional story. It's just that I adore the characters and the visuals so much, and it was the first Miyazaki movie that I ever saw (which, is pretty common).

Here's another anime I enjoy (and this is odd for a guy). Inuyasha. :p

It's bad, but it's so bad, that I think it's good! I can easily waste an hour or two watching a few episodes.

Hahaha, I use to be big into DeathNote and Inuyasha haha. That was a while ago. I found a list of great Anime I might try catching only downside Netflix and Prime have terrible anime catalogs.

I've never seen Deathnote. I got into Inuyasha because for a while there it was on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim (not sure why...but...ok) and it would be playing when I'd get home from work.

There were a few other shows in that block that I really liked as well... There was this great show with a kid and his friend who was really magic armor or a robot or something...it was a great show, but I can't remember the name. I wanna say Fullmetal Alchemist, but I'm not sure. And there was Cowboy Bebop... I forget the rest.

Yeah, Fullmetal Alchemist is what I was thinking of.

On a side note? Is that Elsa?
