A little song to set the mood...
For the second immunity challenge, we were asked to come up with a property owned by Warner Brothers to bring to Disney Parks to compete with Universal's mega-hit "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" additions to their theme parks. It was a fun brainstorming process that involved everything from a "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" ride to a Lego Movie E-Ticket. At the end of the day, we wanted to create an attraction based on a franchise that had both staying power and a generation's worth of nostalgia attached to it. Along with that, we wanted to choose a franchise that would offer us nearly unlimited creative potential.
With that in mind, we decided to base our land off of the "Pokemon" franchise...something that is still a popular hit around the world and is even more popular with children of the 90s who grew up with the franchise and are now having kids of their own that they want to share it with. Pokemon is truly a cross-generational IP that contains all the excitement, adventure, and whimsy that would make an excellent addition to any Disney park. Our project is specifically going into Tokyo Disneyland, a park known for groundbreaking technology, concepts, and innovations.
Our Pokemon land is based around the well-known "Viridian City" location from the game and anime. This is the jumping off point of the Pokemon universe's Kanto region. It's a town that started out small and humble hidden within the woods of Viridian Forest, but soon grew due to the presence of the Pokemon league. It's a place where trainers, breeders, and everyone in between meets up in one big melting pot. It's worth noting that this land is NOT meant to be a brick-by-brick recreation of the city like Cars Land or "Wizarding World" are. Instead we picked Viridian City as a "hub" to the Pokemon universe and added our own creative liberties to make it a truly exciting, bustling experience with new surprises around every turn.
One last note...to make things simple and to appeal to the nostalgic 90s child in us all...we made a quick decision to only include the original 150 Pokemon from generation one with a few exceptions like MewTwo and Togapie here and there to keep things accurate to the anime. While younger fans can use their new generation Pokemon to do battle in interactive experiences, the core of this project is set within generation one of the Pokemon universe. The Picture of all the Pokémon some of them haven't been confirmed to live in Kanto and for a stretch Johto, the Sevii, or the Orange Islands. Even then plenty of those Pokémon there are from later generations. Did Professor Palm break the forth wall? By bringing in Harry Potter and Disneyland?

Anime-tronics funny a pun. Why not a nod to Oak's grandson Blue/Gary? I So this sounds like Pokémon Snap. The Beach being the first location you visit in both. The River being another. Slowpoke is supposed to evolve when a Shellder bites its tail not Cloyster. I thought it was said in Pokémon X and Y a pokemon could only mega evolve by a trainer, and it sounds like this mega gyradous is a mega. Lugia lives in the center of the Orange Islands why would he be in Kanto? Other than all of this, all of it is good.

Prey good concept so far, but the gifs have Pokémon from up to Gen 3/4 depending if you use the games as canon or anime as canon. Giovanni was the gym leader of Viridian City, why would he need to a radio tower to expand his rule on the same city he has his own gym in. James owns a wheezing by the end of Season 1 I think. Jessie has an Arbok at the end of season 1. Their theme song is in this right?
So ekans and arbok in one of the same according to the gif for Battle Royale? Mewtwo is actually #150 Mew is #151. Overall everything here is good, but you must know this battle never happened here. It happened on New Island were Mewtwo planned to clone all the Pokémon the best trainers have brought, and wipe the planet clean. Moweth's Automat sounds like an interesting concept. This is most likely my favorite part of your proposal.

Original '150' Pokémon? What's the point of using a DS if it's all about the 3DS. Nintendo even cut the DS Wi-Fi support as well as the Wii's. So I can't equip items to my Pokémon darn Mega Kagnkashan is a real threat too.
Will abilities, type matches, and a pokemon's nature be factored any of this? There's no definition of popular moves as every single person has a different strategy for a Pokémon. Good concept however.

Bug Pokémon get a whole store, well that's very different. Mrs.Ketchum a native of Palet opens a restaurant at Viridian....I really like all of this however I could see my self wandering around these stores/restaurants.

Overall some inconstancies throughout the land biggest stating there's 150 original Pokémon. Honestly this is a very good and strong presentation well done!

One note, though...the season 1 Pokerap specifically states there are 150, not 151. That didn't become canon until after Season 2 (or later) and the Movie release.
You are right about James and Jessie's pokemon evolving, and I thought about that when going through that section, but it was already written with Ekans and Koffig, so I left it alone.

Correct and if I'm not mistaken mew was only in the code for the United States release of Blue and Red considering it came out 2 years after the Japanese release.
Its actually how they handled the pokemon storage in the Original games, alot of clever computer science and blank hash mapping explains the glitch pokemon because there was originally going be at least 10 more pokemon.

More specifically it was a programming glitch that no one tested for. Thing were done in a multiple of two so 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256. They only needed ~151 so there was a 105 slots open and that is what is occurring with glitch pokemon its trying to pull data that does "exist" but does. Full article here

But Mewtwo was in Pokémon Stadium for N64 with only 1st Gen Pokémon. And I got my closest 3DS game to check which is Pokémon X and it puts Mewtwo in the national dex in the 150 spot. I'm basing this off my knowledge from the newer games gen 3-gen 6. I thought Mew was in both wasn't Mew only obtainable in Japan or something

Mewtwo was introduced in the first movie, which came out after series 2 of the show and 2 years after the TV show release (3 in the US). The N64 game you referred to came out a year after the movie in both Japan and the US.But Mewtwo was in Pokémon Stadium for N64 with only 1st Gen Pokémon. X & Y were the best selling 3DS games. I originally had the video say that specifically, but it was pointed out by IDI that it was hard to read some of the slides, and so I pared it down.

The radio station guise was a nod to the fact that Team Rocket often sets up "businesses" to further their gains and goals.

My understanding was Mewtwo was always cannon and always 150 on the pokemon list, mew was the oddity coming in a 151.
