The Shanghai Disneyland spoiler rich attraction preview thread!

Leave the Disneyland and DLP Pirates alone but Disney should be fast tracking a tear down of the WDW Pirates to build a new version duplicating Shanghai.

I'm not sure about a total tear-down, but I've often thought that the battle-at-sea scene in WDW's Pirates needs a major upgrade. Shanghai's scene would be an awesome plus. It sure makes the popgun fight in WDW's version look pretty lame by comparison.

The wdw was never up to snuff to the other pirate rides. Let disneyland keep the classic and make a treasure cove expansion here.

 That can't be right. 270 minutes is crazy, and during trial operations?!

Also, I too have no idea what happy circle is, but assume it's a meet and greet area.

Soaring is a huge hit in Shanghai, but they've only been able to run one theater at a time so far. Hence the stupid wait times.

Oh gee. Do you know why? And I forget, how many total theaters are there?

Makes total sense though. That is likely the attraction that Spirit says isn't running at full capacity, and Roaring Rapids is the one not working. Adventure Isle looks like it's having a rough start.

EDIT: Someone on themeparkx says Roaring Rapids is opening Friday. I hope they're right. Although he said Friday is June 2nd, which is not true, so I'm doubting it.

This Tron video has superb quliaty, although the camera is a bit shaky, you could see the indoor special effects more clearly. By the way, the exterior shell of Tron could change to many different colors, the moving hexagon effect is on too! It looks gorgeous !

One final reason Roaring Rapids may not have opened before is that maybe they wanted to test out the park without worrying about soaked people walking around and dripping everywhere? Anyhow...

There are pics from twitter shows the line of Roaring Rapids, therefore it is indeed operating.

Thank you. Well on one hand, I can't contain my excitement about the fact, not only is it operating, but moreso that we'll probably see a full video in the next 24 hours!

On the other hand... wow, that queue looks like a miserable place to wait. Classic Six Flags outdoor queue style... an overhang with lights and then fans in the middle, and not much else. It looks like there's something relatively interesting in the center-right of the photo.

While there are semi-nice queues like Soarin's, Tron's, Pirates's, and likely others I haven't seen, I've seen none that I find to be particularly outstanding. And there are others that look miserable, like this one and Pooh's, and again, likely others I haven't seen. Overall, I'm generally less than thrilled with SDL's queues.

It's not neccessarily that the queue situation here is worse than that of WDW, it's just that, 45 years later, Disney had an opportunity to greatly improve on the situation in this brand new park, and they could've done better.

Maybe seeing more will sway me on that. I've yet to see or hear of SDMT's queue. Is it the same as WDW's, or did they drop the interactiveness?

Lets hope the ride far outdoes the queue. And you can bet I'll be on the constant lookout for a video!

EDIT: false alarm, it was the queue for the Tarzan show. I feel so dopey.

^Almost certain the queue referred to in the pics above is for Tarzan (Storyhouse Stage), not Rapids. Though I wouldn't expect Indiana Jones Adventure queue for the Rapids, as it is also a series of covered outdoor pathways similar to Tarzan above. Hopefully, with some interesting visual and aural elements.

That's cool that there's an alternate ending of the ride. And he half-heartedly sings a line of Yo Ho. Nice that he remembers the reason he exists. :) But do think the fact that there's an alternate ending is neat.

Hmmm. Yeah... well. Long queue for the show! Though I understand something less than spectacular for a show queue because it moves in big "jumps."

It isn't easy to really see the details of the show from the video, but the subtitles are certainly helpful. I'll admit I only skimmed through it but I get the idea. And I think it looks good.

On the SDL app, Roaring Rapids was scheduled to open today.

It did not open, and now it has - coming soon! next to the words Roaring Rapids. Looks like it won't be ready for the 16th. Bummer.

Apparently the ride runs fine but there is an issue with the animatronic. Which is not surprising or hard to believe because the ride has been testing and was even seen with riders on it. And Disney always has problems with large and complex animatronics. I'm sensing another yeti situation. In fact, this ride is kind of set up like Everest, with one large animatronic as the lone creature of the ride. And how ironic that they're having problems with this one too.

I love that they go big, but it hasn't worked out so well for them. I hope that the ride opens soon and that this issue doesn't discourage them from creating more large and complex animatronics.

Of course this is just the rumored issue, it may not be true at all. Either way, whatever is going on, I'm bummed that the ride won't be open for opening day.
