The return of a Disneyland in Brazil - in a new location (open brainstorming)

Chili's
Well, it was just extremely difficult to come up with names that were all-encompassing, since they all seemed to err on one side of the area's theme or the other.

I didn't even come up with Discovery Island until I remembered that its original name was Treasure Island.
I think people have given you some good suggestions at names that fit both themes, but ultimately the decision is up to you!

Those are all good suggestions, but they all seemed to be limited in terms of theme, one way or the other. I wanted a name that was all-encompassing. It should be noted that this kind of area in Shanghai is known as Camp Discovery.

Before I move on in the park, I would like to do something that will actually help to lead into the next segment: I want to provide my idea for what Goofy in this park will look like. Now, I know I had posted something like it before, but it was not my own. The following image, however, is my own (again, it's crude, but all I had available was MS Paint):
new goofy design.jpg

It's not the best picture in existence, but it's one of the only ones I could find with the Fab Five together, with Mickey and Minnie in their new 2016 looks.

I also had another idea: reverting to an old-style costume, Goofy's eyelids can also bounce up and down, as they used to in 1969, apparently. Watch this film (around 2:10) to see what I mean:

It's tough to say. I keep going back and forth about the eyes.

BUT

I like the idea of Goofy getting a redesign. I think that if Goofys eyes are changed, Pluto's should too.

I don't know, I think Pluto is fine.

But this does help to segue into the next part of the park: namely, Fantasyland! The castle (whose name and theme are as yet undecided) will be based on the one at Hong Kong after its overhaul:

As you can see, by virtue of this being a replica of the new Hong Kong castle, the castle in Brazil will have some elements of the original Disneyland castle as well. There will also be a special stage show with fountains, too, as you can also see.

Also, it should be noted that as the carousel and Small World are in an all-new land, in front of the castle rather than behind it, they will not be in Fantasyland.

Thoughts, comments, concerns?

So next up is the happiest kingdom of them all: Fantasyland! But first, what did you think of my idea for the castle design, which, by virtue of it being a replica of the soon-to-be-overhauled Hong Kong castle, also resembles the Disneyland castle in Anaheim?

As at Shanghai, the castle is themed not to any one of the Disney princesses, but all of them. As such, it will have a relatively modest name, "O Castelo Encantado" (or "Enchanted Castle"). It will feature a gallery that is a cross between Shanghai's Once Upon a Time Adventure and the Princess Pavilion in other parks. This is a gallery of sorts, leading to meet-n-greets with various Disney princesses.

There is also a sit-down restaurant called the "Salão de Banquete Real" (or "Royal Banquet Hall"), where Disney princesses and their friends can be seen roving from table to table. You never know who will show up. Also here is the Brazilian park's own version of the now-ubiquitous Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where young guests can become princesses themselves.

Yes, this castle is home to plenty. But now it's time to move on, for there is plenty more where that came from beyond O Castelo Encantado. Just remember, though, It's a Small World and Fantasia Carrousel are not found in this park's Fantasyland.

Beyond O Castelo Encantado lies Fantasyland. To start with, like all parks, there will be dark rides based on classic Disney films here. In this case, there are three of such, and like most parks, one of them is the Peter Pan ride. However, it will not be called simply "Peter Pan's Flight", but rather "Peter Pan's Flight To Neverland" (which I'm also planning to rename for the Peter Pan ride in Florida). Here, as in all versions, you climb aboard a pirate ship for a wonderful flight with Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and the Darlings over London town and past the second star to the right, as you head for Neverland for encounters with mermaids, the Lost Boys and a band of pirates led by Peter's arch enemy Captain Hook.

The second movie-themed dark ride is "Alice no País das Maravilhas", or "Alice In Wonderland". This is similar to the Alice ride in Disneyland, making this Brazilian park the only other Disney park besides Disneyland to have it. However, there are two differences. One of them is that instead of caterpillars as ride vehicles, you will ride in giant teacups instead that can spin. As such, there is a bit of the Roger Rabbit ride in this, since, as in that ride, you can spin your cup through the ride. The second difference is the sequence of events, which are based more on this very early concept for an Alice walkthrough dating back to the early days of Disneyland:

The third attraction is a copy of the Beauty and the Beast ride coming to Tokyo Disneyland in 2020. Details are sketchy on that ride right now, so I can't really comment on anything right now. I don't even know what the name of the ride will be yet. However, from what little I do know right now, you board "enchanted dishes" that dance in rhythm to the film's music. Guests will journey into the Beast's Castle just in time to break the spell that will help Belle make the Beast human again. Here is a piece of concept art for a scene in the ride to come:

Once I figure out the name of the ride, I can try to translate it in Portuguese for this park.

While these attractions are the main dark rides of Fantasyland, there is one more movie-based dark ride, one that is water-based, which I will get to shortly. There is also no Winnie the Pooh dark ride here, but that doesn't mean there are no Pooh rides here at all.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on these attractions?

The Alice ride has spinning teacups for ride vehicles. As such, that means the Mad Tea Party is not in this park. Instead, this park will feature a copy of the Hunny Pot Spin, here known as Winnie the Pooh's Honey Pots. It is primarily the same ride as in Shanghai...

...but instead of a beehive in the middle, the bees will be swarming around a honey tree, with Pooh nearby clinging to a balloon and reaching out to the very conspicuous tree hole full of honey, like so:

In the same area, there is a second Pooh-based ride. This is actually a small coaster, along the lines of Gadget's Go Coaster or The Great Goofini, and it's themed around Tigger, who loves to bounce. As such, there are a few up and down movements to simulate your bouncing with him. You see him at the top of the lift hill, inviting you to bounce along, and at the end, you see Tigger landing on Pooh's stomach in a classic position:

And for good measure, "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers" plays during your ride.

I think the roller coaster might be called "Tigger's Bouncy Place" or something. What do you think?

And also, similar to the Alice maze in Paris and in Shanghai, there will be an exploration area of the Hundred Acre Wood. The best way to describe it is like the interactive queue in Florida's Pooh ride, but enlarged as its own attraction (watch this video until 10:05):

It would be a good way for the kids to have fun. And there will also be a meet-n-greet for Winnie the Pooh and friends here.

So just to recap, there are three rides based on Winnie the Pooh in this park (but not one is the Pooh dark ride):
  • Winnie the Pooh's Honey Pots (teacup ride)
  • Tigger's Bouncy Place (roller coaster)
  • Hundred Acre Wood (exploration area/maze)
I'm not entirely sure about the name "Tigger's Bouncy Place", though. Any ideas on other names for the ride?

I love the idea of 100 Acre Wood exploration area. For the coaster, what about "Bounce Along With Tigger" or something similar?

Actually, I thought about it and I had another idea for the coaster, it will be called "Piglet's Blustery Day", where you are lifted into the air by "wind" as Pooh tries to save Piglet from being blown away.
