Coco’s Amazing Journey

Coming soon to DCA, Coco’s Amazing Journey will replace Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley To The Rescue!
The current exterior will be replaced with an exterior inspired by 1930s theatres. The outdoor queue has many posters advertising old shows at the Riverside theatre, named after Disney’s old studio, from the 1930s to modern day with the older ones looking more worn out. The start of the indoor queue has the old ticket booth revamped as a box office while the white plain walls are now covered in a white & grey diamond patterned wallpaper. The screens previously showing the welcome video and adverts now hold clips of old shows with hidden references to other Pixar films while at the end showing a preview of the concert Coco is putting on. The station now looks like the lobby at the theatre as the ride vehicles are rethemed as cars. The small highway/motorway section at the start become the auditorium as the show ends with a empty stage except for Miguel’s guitar as we leave the first scene. The street is kept but with new shopfronts, a new set of human animatronics, the car with Mike & his date being replaced by a tunnel and Sully & Boo’s hiding spot becoming a place where Miguel is signing autographs. The Japanese restaurant where the octopus and the girl from Mikes date are becomes a luxury club where Miguel is bombarded by press and congratulated by celebs. The back of Monsters Inc. premises becomes Miguel relaxing and playing guitar outside a warehouse. The inside of Monsters Inc. premises where the officers in protective outfits are becomes the talent agency offices where Miguel gets signed by his new agent and meets more celebs represented by the new agent. The small office where some random monsters are becomes a small area with a Miguel animatronic pointing to the Hollywood sign. The back area where Mike & Sully are becomes the glitzy offices of a Hollywood studio with people on phones. The room with the door portal is the office of the CEO of the studio with Miguel signing a contact for his first film. The scene with Mike & Sully in the door factory becomes Miguel on set filming a scene for his film, Robot Squad. The area where Boo beats up the villain becomes the post production area where Miguel plays his guitar while the director plays his rock guitar. The area where Mike stands in the doors entertaining Boo becomes a small street near to the premiere of Robot Squad. The area with officers and news crew becomes the crowd outside the cinema as the slug monster is replaced with Miguel on the red carpet. Your vehicle exits the street and stops in the station, ending the ride,

One refurb I think could work for the long term is Mission: SPACE. Akin to Star Tours - for re-rideability sake, reprogram the software and set the storyline date further into the future. With Mars within reach during this decade, this attraction could see the same fate as Flight to the Moon; simply a retread of modern day accomplisments.

So you could have a potpourri of places. Saturn's moon of Titan, Neptune, Mars, different galaxies even, in order to mix up the storylines.

Day 1

Welcome to the first day of The Proposals! For the first day, we are going to keep it very simple and blue sky. Has there ever been a ride where you felt like it needed major improvement? Well here is your chance to share your ideas!

Your task is to…

Propose a refurbishment to any ride in any theme park of your choice

Some reminders:
  • You can keep it simple! You don’t have to make a full blown 10 page document on the ride. You can do a couple sentences and/or a few pictures. Whatever you feel comfortable with
  • Don’t be scared to share your ideas! Every idea is a good idea
  • Have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.

Now get to thinkin!
I would love to see a big refresh of Peter Pan in WDW. It's still great and I wouldn't change too much. But it is easily the most date feeling ride. Just some paint and new lighting nd replace a few dated props/figures and add some starlight... Just little things but it could use a LOT of TLC

The Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem ride systems in the states are not the best. Hence forth, they ( and future MM clones) shall become OMNIMAX motion simulators, same as in Japan (and will be expanded and redesigned to have holding rooms, as well as the new simulators and screen). For re-rideability, the film itself will also be improved upon featuring more varied training courses and mishaps that lead the Gorls' and riders into near disaster for them; and Gru's anniversary present) but will still retain the same ending.

*Minion Rush is used as it was the only decent reference that I could find.

I tell you this was harder than I thought. I'll go into further when you review our submissions but I tell you between indecisions on attractions and trying to keep it simple, it was tough.

Haunted Mansion But Now It’s Based Off Of The Movie.
This is a fun one! Plus, it would work really well as the movie is slowly becoming a cult classic. I personally like the movie so I would totally ride this.

What a fun idea! I have always complained how none of the Monsters Inc rides never fit well in the lands, so this was a good replacement. Plus it works well with the overall theme of Hollywoodland. I also love continuation stories so this was a really fun one to read.

This totally needs to be done right now. Mission: SPACE is definitely a ride that has needed a good refurbishment for a long time now. Also those places mentioned at the end really work because the missions and places they have now have been bland for years and years.

Also there is a Mission Space prompt coming soon so that's a fun coincidence.

I would love to see a big refresh of Peter Pan in WDW. It's still great and I wouldn't change too much. But it is easily the most date feeling ride. Just some paint and new lighting nd replace a few dated props/figures and add some starlight... Just little things but it could use a LOT of TLC
Definitely! Especially with New FL having a lot more thematic and aesthetic substance than the other areas of FL. It makes Peter Pan and IASW look cheap.

This is great! I totally agree that DM:MM's ride system lacks a lot comparing it to other simulation rides. There is almost no movement! The whole idea of using OMNIMAX is genius!

At first, I thought about plussing the Peoplemover, then I decided to try E.T. and move the entrance to Hollywood, while also adding next generation AAs and SFX, then I decided to go with Jurassic World: The Ride; even writing the queue and first scene but I decided to go with something simpler, hence Minion Mayhem.

So, let's talk about Tomorrowland Speedway. Personally, I think that attraction could easily be removed and that valuable real estate could be put to some much better use. However, this prompt is for a refurbishment, and I think it's more than just a simple refurbishment that Tomorrowland Speedway needs. I propose...

Sugar Rush

f2ec17ec2cf0bf77cbfe1386f2d00b19.jpg

Rethemed to the racing video game featured in Wreck-It Ralph, guests are greeted by Vanellope (on TV monitors) as she invites them to try out as a potential Sugar Rush racer. They'll climb into a candy-themed racing cart and drive along the track, passing some astounding sweet-themed landscapes. Frosted hills and candy cane trees give guests something eye-catching to look at, instead of the barren and utilitarian track that Tomorrowland Speedway currently is.

Also, instead of gas-powered carts, the carts are electric. It's a more green and environmentally-friendly approach, and I'm tired of smelling those nauseating fumes whenever I pass between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom.

Yes they do not fit for example.
Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully To The rescue doesn’t fit in Hollywood DCA and was only created to replace a failed attraction.
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor doesn’t fit in Tommorowland Magic Kingdom And feels outdated cheap.
Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek is good and interactive but doesn’t really fit in Tommorowland Tokyo espically after the Tomorrowland & Fantasyland Revamp.

So, I'm cheating here. It dawned on me that with Stitch's Great Escape gone, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor likely on the way out, WDW Tomorrowland has no headline attractions at the entrance. What to do with this? Refurbish both attractions!

Stitch's Great Escape returns, but as a dark ride! We play the role of new security recruits to a Galactic Federation prison facility, containing Experiment 626 (Stitch) before he is sent to a distant asteroid for imprisonment. Captain Gantu is in charge, confident Stitch will not be able to escape his cell which is guarded by move-sensor laser guns. Too bad Stitch uses them against their programming to escape, Gantu prompting us to search the base for the renegade trog in armoured security pods. A wild adventure awaits us as we pursue Stitch through the base, in and out of ventilation shafts, through absurdly secured corridors, before Stitch wrecks Gantu's command centre and escapes in a space cruisher. Though Gantu tries to blame us, the Grand Councilwoman holds him responsible. Upon exiting the ride, guests can find Stitch in a M&G. Due to being a slighter larger dark ride, the building either gets a second floor, or certain other establishments are sacrificed for the new refurbishment.

The second attraction replace the Laugh Floor would Baymax's Happy Ride, a copy of Tokyo Disneyland's new whip ride (like Alien Swirling Saucers), where guests hop into Joypods, which are driven around by Baymax's fellow healthcare companions to increase the levels of their happiness. Adjacent to the ride would be the Big Hero Labs, an interactive area like ImageWorks where guests can have a go playing around the technology created by the Big Hero 6, and learn a little about the latest technological developments in the world.

That’s not a refurb, that’s a set of new attractions!

Fun not serious reno here- but replace the hall of presidents with a shortened clean animatronic version of Hamilton
Love this! This would be amazing to witness and a really go replacement for HOP

This is so fun! I'm surprised Disney had done nothing with Sugar Rush in any of its parks. It's such a fan favorite with almost everyone that has watched WIR. It would definitely be an fun addition.

These attractions are awesome! It's nice that you gave Stitch some love in an actual good way unlike Disney did lol. The BH6 ride and interactive areas were great as well. I miss when Disney used to have interactive areas since those were so fun to do when I was a kid.
