just out of curiosity, seeing as this orlando hollywood studio park will recieve some TLC like calis version (yes, i know its california adventure, but its pretty much stuff from hollywood studios mulched in)

will the paris version get some kind of rebrand/facelift?

The Paris Studios is supposed to be getting stuff but is supposed to be happening over years and years. The new Ratatouille ride is one part of it.

LOL - no, DCA is not just DHS stuff mulched in. Paris is its own animal, and until Disney decides to just buy it out, they will struggle with capex in a huge way - I wouldn't expect any makeovers there any time soon. They don't have the money.

If anyone hasn't stated what the name is changing to, It's Disney's Hollywood Adventure.. Yep it actually sounds pretty nice.

A friend who use to work there told me that a few days ago. Also Equity is supposedly going out the door in a year or so. Backlot and all of the studios refs are going out the door too. So GMR is aswell.. :(

Ummm....I broke the news of the name (Disney's Islands of Fun Stuff to do in Hollywood) - http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...ns-thoughts-tres.865891/page-161#post-5553037 quite a while ago. The hope is that the word islands will make people think they are going to a theme park that is actually fun or a tropical paradise of some type, which is why they are purchasing beach chairs and cabanas.

i hate that disney is reaching out to other names... stars wars for HS, avatar for AK... i don't think they need it.

In the case of Star Wars Disney actually owns it.... so it IS now part of the Disney family... besides they would be Crazier than a Wide Eyed Goat attacking a Crocodile if they just SAT on the Star Wars theme!

I don't see why GMR would have to go. It's a ride celebrating the movies; it's not supposed to be part of a working studio.

I don't quite understand this rumor either. The attraction is very popular and loved by nearly anyone. The ride normally has decent wait times (they would be better if they updated it) and it is used quite a few times a year for private parties which are extremely lucrative as I understand it. The arguments against keeping it is the High labor cost which is BS because the staff is no larger really than TSMM and high maintenance cost, which I'll admit is a legitimate argument.

Wasn't a GMR makeover also on the table at some point? I'm sure they could add/switch some scenes and tweak things that jack up the costs to run it. And it TDO could build something that would consistently draw crowds and rake in the money, then I doubt that those costs would continue to be such a problem.

I thought I remember hearing a GMR "re-do" may be on the table after the Soarin' update and Maelstrom makeover.
