Trip Report THE ONE WITH A FEW MAGICIANS IN AUGUST šŸ¤”COMPLETEšŸ¤”

Hello again.
I have another trip booked in less than three weeks so I need to power through this. So letā€™s go.....

In my last TR you all convinced me to take a side trip to WDW after dropping my son off at school. I was on the fence until one poster (I am too lazy to look it up) said they would never pass up an opportunity to visit WDW. I agree.

Not too long after that we had a big family get together and I asked if anyone wanted to drive down to Florida with X and I then go to WDW with me for a couple days. My 16YO nephew said yes but he is kind of a nervous type so I did not take him seriously. A few days later his mother, my SIL said, ā€œyou know J was serious right?ā€

I went on DVC and booked a room immediately. I could not believe my luck when I got a 1BR at Boardwalk. I have been trying for 12 years to stay there. Yay!!!

THEN my SIL, also being the nervous type, said she would go too. WHAT???
She was just there at Christmas and she is going with me in September for food and wine. This is way out of character for her.

THEN my youngest, Dre, decides he wants to go. Wait. We are not all going to fit in Xā€™s
truck.

SIL suggests she fly down with the boys and meet me at Disney. That is what we did. Let me tell you about it......

But the straws aplenty were paper straws. :depressed:
Tuvalu, do you think my drink lasts long enough for a paper straw to get soggy???

Wait, what??!! :jawdrop: They got rid off the big palm trees??!!!
So sad, I know.

Being a DVC owner, I love talking DVC with other Disney guests! We can only dream of having 650 points to use for a cruise!šŸ˜ I actually miss the old Soarin although we always get a FP for it every trip even with the bent new one.šŸ¤£ LWTL is another must do.
The other security guard had 500! Also a pretty large amount.
And being from California, you know I miss the original Soarinā€™!

The boys headed off to do Mission Space, a hard pass for SIL and I. The girls went to do Frozen...standby. We got an Aass pilsner, along with a leson on how to pronounce it, and got on the 45 minute line.

Yep it was 45 minutes.
Yep it was worth it to us. SIL had never ridden and I rarely get to because of the whole boy situation. Plus we had beeršŸ˜€

I like this ride. I never rode on the one that was there before it, but I think they did a great job turning it into a Frozen ride. I particularly like how the movement of the boats sync up with the songs.

When we came out the Chinese acrobats were acrobatting.
Some of the performers look like pre teens! But they are so talented. I especially like the Diablos. The school my kids went to put on a fifth grade circus every year and 2 of my 3 boys chose the Diablos so I know first hand how difficult they are.

Then we meandered into Germany. We are both of German descent, married into a big Italian family. (I am also Italian but my German mother did the cooking.)

The smell, returned us to our Grandmotherā€™s kitchens.
And the Germans don't mess around when it comes to straws. šŸ˜‰

We relaxed and took in the view for a few minutes. The boys were eating chicken nuggets (mmmmm chicken nuggets) and riding some rides. That meant peace and tranquility for us...

Then Italy

Then America. My middle child is a huge America fan so I snapped picture after picture and sent them to him. These are just a few.

Japan looked hopping. We walked into the store, looked at each other and said ā€œno wayā€. We got out of there, fast!!!

The boys texted us. They had a good spot in Canada to watch Illuminations. We started to head over. I knew some Magicians were in Epcot because of our group chat we had going @bee had sent a picture of her view from Rose n Crown. I told SIL to go to Canada to meet the boys and I would catch up.

I showed Beeā€™s picture to the hostess and asked where this could be. She pointed me to a location and I looked but did not find her. I took a selfie to post in our chat to prove I was there and that I had tried.

When I went to post it I saw @Tony the Tigger had posted a picture of his location as well. I went back to the hostess stand and a guy working there said he knew where it was and led me right to @bee !!

I talked to her for a few then she pointed out @Tony the Tigger sitting two tables away so I went to say hi to him.

He was (is) so nice! And his husband? One word, Hubba Hubba. Ok, so that is two words.

Bee and her wife were lovely as well. I did not stay too long because they were eating and Illuminations was only minutes away. I did get the selfie with Bee but as she prefers her anonymity I cropped it to Wilson status.

It was so much fun meeting you! We wore the glow sticks you gave us to the Star Wars opening later in the trip. And of course we enjoyed all the stuff you gave us the next day...which I won't spoil because you're almost there in your TR!

PS Thanks for Wilson-ing me! :hilarious:

Those Chinese acrobats are so talented and I agree with you that some seem quite young! The food that you got in Germany looks delish and is that beer you got a Schofferhofer beer? I'm such a fan of the shop in the American Pavilion too. It's one shop that we always have to stop in after seeing VOL! Glad you were able to locate your "magician" friends and get some pics to share.

Bee your "Wilson-ing" is going to become as famous as @Tuvalu 's Shirley Status!! It makes me laugh at the different ways you cover your face.
