I was skimming through the various threads on the boards and have been noticing lately that a lot more threads are becoming "official." What exactly makes a thread "official?" Is it simply claiming that is it is official? Also why is making something official so important? There is more to life than officiality and I am the official word on that. :)

I think if officially started last year during the spate of hurricane threads that kept cropping up, several for each hurricane as it happened. I guess someone used the word for one of these threads and it stopped all the duplicates from happening.

If how many times you use the word "official" in a post has anything to do with making it official, I would say that you, disneymoc, are officially the king of official posting. *puts crown on disneymoc's head* :king: Congratulations!

Just a quick note to say that this was, I think, where it started, because I started one of the first ones at that time... It helped to find the ONE place where we could find the latest news about the hurricane, and keep up with "missing" people we were worried about. It made it easy to find their posts, and know that they were O.K.

And, well, since I started one of those threads, I can say that that's at least MY official answer.... :lookaroun :animwink:

This is the official "overuse the word official in as many ways as possible to emphasize the lunacy of the possibility of anything at all being official in any capacity" thread. :D
