The movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire hits theater's November 18th.

"Goblet" is the pivotal 4th novel in the Harry Potter series. In "Goblet", the entire wizarding world will be changed for the forseeable future. Join Harry as he faces the "difficult times" that lie ahead.

Please enjoy the film and try to restrain yourself from shouting at movie screen about how butchered the novel is.

Come here to discuss after you've seen it.

I would go tomorrow, but we're going on a field trip to see it Monday. Then Tuesday we have a project where we get out to shadow someone's job. Then Thanksgiving Break. Yay!

I thought I wanted to go see it; but I'm not sure now. After HBP, I'm not too pleased with JK to say the least...although I am sure "everything" happened for a reason.

JK has dosen't have that much to do with the movies. But I do agree with you somewhat, I wasn't very impress with the sixth book, but I know she's just setting up the backround for the end.

I think what she did in the 6th book she did for a reason. I'm not mad displeased with her I have faith that she did it for a reason & we will find out in the 7th book.

I can't wait to see the movie!!

I saw this movie last night at midnight....Here's my take on it:

Ok, I saw the movie as well...and it was definitely good.

The first thing to know is that this movie does follow the major plot line of the book...the only thing left out or changed a bit were a few minor details that may be important to other movies, but were not pertinant for this movie.

The beginning threw me a little because that is where they cut a lot of what is in the book that wasn't important to the movie, however, once the first 30 minutes are over and the plot really starts, nothing REALLY glaring is missing.

I thought that Ralph Finnes (who plays Voldemort) did an amazing job. He definitely can pull off evil. The no nose thing was kind of gross looking...but overall, Voldemort was exactly what I thought he'd be. And I did think that the duel scene was pretty much how I expected it to be.

There was some humor mixed in this one (probably because if there wasn't the movie would just be really dark and depressing). The funniest part of the movie revolves around the dance.

Overall, I give this movie 4 and a half out of five stars.

As a side note: My friend who hadn't read the book had no trouble following the plot and thought it was a great movie.

I wish human beings had longer attention spans because I would have loved for the movie to have been longer. I did manage to contain myself during the movie, but when it ended I went outside and shouted "I LOVE BOOKS."

The movie was well put together for the time in which they had to tell the story. It is hard to tell such a great tale in such a short amount of time. I wish that Mike Newell would direct the rest. In my opinion, he is the best director the series has had so far. There wasn't anything out of place and no useless filler. I shed a tear at the end when Harry and Cedric were transported back to Hogwarts. Very sad moment, and it shows Daniel Radcliffe's growth as an actor. I am pleasantly surprised with his progress.

In summary, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the best movie of the franchise. The others pale in comparison. Mike Newell understands the Harry Potter universe and interprets it well onto the screen. I loved the movie, but nothing compares to the first time you read the book.

***Spoilers***

SOOOO much better than the 3rd movie!
The Weasley tint was EXACTLY how I had pictured it, as well as several other scenes.
The scene with Harry and Cedric right after the graveyard nearly had me in tears. And I know I'll be bawling at the end of the 5th and 6th ones!
There were a few things that I noticed that they left out or changed, but overall, I was ok with the changes. I knew from the beginning that they were going to have to cut out quite a bit. I think they put in enough of the important details to give those who haven't read the books enough information to keep up with what's going on, whereas the 3rd movie failed miserably in that aspect (as in the explination of the Maurader's Map, and the big fight between Ron and Hermione). The only thing they left out that I thought should've been included was where Harry wins the tournament and the money, tries to give it to the Diggorys, and then gives it to Fred and George (who were WONDERFUL in this one...they always are, but they really showcased the twins in this one). And I was a bit disappointed in the lack of Sirius, but I figured they'd end up cutting most of his parts out as they weren't incredibly important to the plot. Although, the scene with his head in the fireplace annoys me...what happened to the green flames of the floo powder? And how did his head go from being engulfed in flames to being imprinted in ashes? Artisic license, I suppose. I missed the part where he comes in after the third task, though...it's one of my favorite Sirius scenes in the books. Oh well.
Overall, I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I had rather low expectations after the 3rd movie, and especially since John Williams didn't do the soundtrack to this one - which I was happy to hear the "Harry Potter theme" (which I think is actually "Hedwig's Theme", but I'm not sure) thrown in there a few times. I noticed a bit of a difference in the style of music, but it wasn't a bothersome difference, which was a relief. Definitely one of the best of the series, but I'm not sure how many more times I could watch it. Just doesn't seem like a movie I could watch over and over again. But wonderful, nonetheless. I agree that this director really got the HP world and what was important to the plot, etc. Good for him! :D

I totally agree with this statement! I don't know if it's because it's so heartwrenching or dark or what it is...but I don't think I could watch it over and over like I have some of the others. Although it really is a good movie.

I'm going to wait a week or two, I don't like to deal with the crowds.

Actually in this case, the crowds make it more fun...because you can feel the energy and the excitement of all the HP fans and it just makes the movie that much better. That's why I go at Midnight everytime something like this happens.
