The official Future Corps Main Street U.S.A. Work Thread

Here's the problem with the restaurant. We can only have two sit down meals in the park. Do you want to waste one on Main Street, or do you want to create a brand new concept for a different land (I have an idea for Adventureland, myself). We can still use the family theme for a restaurant, but instead have it be quick service, since we need one of those per land anyway.

Just to say it's 4...

But I think it could work as a quick service, we don't want an exact copy of what already exists.

Since our Main Street is progressing from the turn of the centuries to the 50's, we can also have on one side of the street an exhibit, or a show, talking about Walt's history, just like One Man's Dream. Starts with Walt being born, and it ends with Disneyland. The doors then open and you are taken to the Carousel of Progress, the last step on your "Life of Walt" tour. Then, exit to a new pre-show and ta-da! You are now in a 50's Main Street.

This is what I was getting at, but I really like the Walt Disney influence. But we do need to think about how futuristic we go? Do we only go as far as the 60s or go on to Walt's "dream" future, with a script and look based on the original EPCOT plans...

Simply extend the Walt's dream future theme to Tomorrowland. We already had the "World on the Move" Tomorrowland, the "Jules Verne" Tomorrowland, lets have a Walt Disney's Dream Future Tomorrowland!

Bad idea. If we did that the entire park would pretty much have to be a tribute to Walt, which is very weird to me.

I agree, One tribute to Walt is nice, litter the park with them and they get a bit, samey.

Regarding Tommorowland, I think a busy city feel, with Inventors Plaza in the suburbs and the actual centre being the busy city.

Just to re-cap the news from the main thread.
- The criteria that is the same for every land (1 QS, 2 Shops, 2, MaGs) is a minimum, while the criteria for the whole park (35 attractions, 8 shows, 4 TS) is a maximum.
- The lands are: Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland.
- In addition to the aforementioned lands - there are two surprise rounds in the game, so there may be other bit and lands added on.

I agree. So sorry for my idea, didn't think about it right.

As for Tomorrowland, how about we finish planning Main Street first? I mean, we just gotta expand into the details. We have some of the basics- we know that our Main Street is progressing through decades, having a big multi-facade shop and a tribute to Walt that possibly ends in the Carousel of Progress. Talking 'bout it, do we have any theme changes, scene changes, anything?

(( Also thinking if there was a faster way to brainstorm. First answer was using Google Docs and Google Wave. ))

I like the tribute to Walt, I think it's a good way to fit in the Carousel, as it was one of his major projects, and there still isn't really a theatre experience like it today?

CoP - Theme-wise, I think we should stick with progress, and keep parts of the attraction the same. But a new song should defiantly be considered. I definatly like "May way for tomorrow" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfDyV-UFUDo) and a new re-arrangement of that could really fit. And... Would we think about a real pre-show, not just a TV screen, it would effectively be another scene?

But where do we go with it? Do we simply move to the 50s? or do we go to EPCOT? or do we go to present day?

Once again, our MS is progressing through decades, so the exhibits change conforming the decade you're on. You watch a small movie at the 50's and a voice informs you "that you are invited to join the (name) family as you board Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress- with every turn, you'll be making progress!" The post show would probably be everything that Walt planned for the future.

(On a hurry, more details later.)

Has anyone thought about theming the entire MS to the 30's and doing the D i c k Tracey's Crimestoppers Ride? I think that'd be great!

I prefer a journey through the decades street.

How about a multi facade Quick Service restaurant, called 20th Century Diner which has three rooms themed to the 50s, 40s and 30s with TV screens showing different Mickey Mouse cartoons from that decade.

And old commercials?

Boy, you got my vote.

( On a different note, I suggest we all get on Google Wave, so we can make brainstorming easier. )

OK, so a street through the decades?

I'm assuming we'd start with the 1920's, then to the 30's, 40's, 50's... than present day where there will be Carousel of Progress? Is that what is being envisioned.

Yeah, maybe we should get on Google Wave.

So, as of now we have a multi-decade Main Street, going in order from earliest to latest. We have a restaurant--- the 20th Century Diner. We have 1 attraction- Carousel of Progress. Does the railroad count as an attraction? Are we going to have any other attractions? Should I create a backstory for the entire area?

So many questions to ask.

Yeah, maybe we should get on Google Wave.

I have an account, does everyone else?

EDIT: But I'm not sure what to do yet...

Yeah, maybe we should get on Google Wave.

Idea is: there is an exhibit on each decade showing what Walt did on each decade. At the end of the 50's decade, we are taken to the Carousel of Progress. The post-show is Walt's dream future.

20's- Early Cartoon like Steamboat Willie and Plane Crazy

Here we could obviously have a theater showing such cartoons.

30's- Early Animated Films, mainly Snow White; more cartoons

Maybe another theatre, or add in a Snow White ride?

40's- More cartoons; more animated films like Fantasia and Pinocchio

??? Maybe a indoor light show for Fantasia? That doesn't sound like MS though.

50's- Disneyland and Carousel of Progress

Carousel of Progress here and maybe a Disneyland/EPCOT exhibit.

Now I'm thinking we don't really have to do an attraction for each, maybe a Fantasia restaurant would be good for the 40's area. And definitely something honoring Snow White. That movie was a milestone of Walt's career.
