"The Nexus of suck" LOL!

If I'm still around in 20 years, I hope I get the chance to see many of you complaining about someone using the F-bomb in the title of a thread posted on a "family" board (if internet discussion forums still exist) and the responses you get from the younger generation.
:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

Of course there is a difference in the usage of "suck" and the F-Bomb. The first word has always had at least one innocent definition associated with it. The other? Not so much.

As to the original topic at hand, I think a more appropriate title would be "The Nexus of meh". Stitch is just okay for me. It doesn't stink but not much thrill left after visiting once or twice. I haven't been to MILF yet so I'l have to give it a try before coming up with a definitive opinion though I'm not expecting to be wowed. If it had come out before Turtle Talk I might have a more optimistic expectation. I'll give a proper evaluation in Sept. when I'm back down in WDW.

Um, hello. Did you read the update that you're taking our comment out of context on? We LOVE WDW. We had an AWESOME day. And like I explained in my last post it was a "tounge in cheek" comment.

You know, a JOKE.

Like "ha ha, look at that."

Did you find it funny?

I honestly don't care.

The point is...*IT WAS A FREAKING JOKE!!!"

Regardless if you found it funny or not.

Stop taking everything so seriously.

I'm afraid it's impossible for some people here to not take things so seriously Robb. I got your back though, and i love your site, it has helped me get through many boring days at work! And, I did watch the whole video, and totally understand where you're coming from. Only a true Disney fan would and should have the right to say what they want to about their beloved parks.

Robb has the absolute right to say whatever he wants about Disney as does Mickster and Josh. The fact that they do not like certain rides/lands/concepts and choose to make in fun of it as well as criticize should not ruffle anyone's feathers nor should they need to to stop going because they dislike some portions of the parks. Obviously they find some enjoyment r they have lots of money to waste on a place they hate (which I doubt).

As for the original topic; I happen to like SGE (not love, but like). I can't pass judgment on Monsters Inc Attraction until I experience it, but regardless not everyone will like the same things I do. For me a skip every time is the GMR. No desire to ever o on it again.

Actually, black holes do not suck. They pull, by means of gravity, i.e., gravitational pull. Black holes do not suck. They actually pull objects into them due to a gravitational force. Vacuum cleaners do suck, but I find it hard to comprehend SGE and Monsters Inc. LF, removing debris and dirt from their immediate areas.

But they try to remove peope :hammer:

Wow, I gotta say, Tomorrowland is my fave, and I got to go on Monsters Inc for the first time and it has become one of my favorites! SGE, though, yeah...it's pretty bad! So sad no one is coming through for MILF!

I do not find the word suck offensive in any way, shape or form in the context used in this thread.

I also cannot believe that people are saying "suck" offends them in a thread filled with numerous mentions of MILF....

I too must scratch my head in wonder about the offense taken from the use of the word 'suck' and the almost total ignorance of the phrase 'MILF'. I know, I know, we're using it to reference Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and I think the ignoring of the phrase 'MILF' has to do with the number of people who might have absolutely no idea what the term is more commonly used for today by tweens, teens, and young adults. And me :p

As far as this being a family board, I wasn't aware that children were allowed to join internet discussion boards or groups without parental consent. Not trying to get people in trouble, I only know the precautions I had to take with my site and the nasty and threatening emails I had to endure during it's tenure.

Having said that, I also think it's a bit much to say that people who use colorful (or off-color) language are classless or unintelligent. I am by no means classless nor unintelligent (not to toot my own horn lol) and I swear like a sailor on shore leave. I have intelligent, heated, occasionally loud debates with my friends and family where the 'firetruck' word (as my mum calls it) is out of my mouth evern 13 seconds. Do I cuss in public, to a boss, to a cashier, to fellow guests in WDW? No. Not unless they curse first, then I know I have met a kindred spirit!! :ROFLOL: Do I make it through entire posts on this board without uttering naughty words? Sure do, well over 600 times. But cursing during everday conversation, whether with friends or family, does not make me classless or stupid. Shame on you.

Now i know change is inevitable but why did they have to remove the timekeeper in the first place, it was one of my favorite rides. Going through time from Mozart to the 20th century, it had a special magic to it.

But at least they still have CoP probably my favorite ride at Disney World

I think the distinction here is that people are using the word 'suck' in this thread with the intention to express the concept, "to suck."

"MILF," on the other hand, in this thread, is referring to 'Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor' and not the lewd acronym that you are alluding to.

Even expressing the concept 'to suck' is not lewd. One can suck on a lollipop. Also, I was not the only one making the reference (veiled or otherwise) to 'MILF'. I also stated in my post that I was well aware it was being used to refer to Monster's Inc Laugh Floor. And, I have to be honest, the first time I saw the Laugh Floor being referred to as 'MILF', Monsters Inc Laugh Floor was NOT the first thing that popped into my mind. I guess it's a hazard of watching 'American Pie' too many times....

I totally agree. I don't see what all the fuss is about the use of the word "suck." The word can refer to dozens of concepts, like a straw sucks soda from your glass, or the riptide sucks you under the waves, or a leech sucks your blood. Or even more benign, the modern usage of the word which means something that is subpar or lame.

Those who get worked up over this word seem to only think of it only in reference to some sexual act. It would be my conclusion that these people are in posession of dirty minds and should be given warnings about the TOS here ;)

First off, suck, not a bad word. Second, Tomorrow land needs some big time help. Its the weakest land and the one we spend the least amount of time in. Buzz is the best ride in it, space, MILF, stitch the speedway... they all need help IMHO.

I think the whole point here is that people are tossing around childish insults when describing an attraction rather than simply stating their opinion and moving on.

There is a difference between saying "I don't like this attraction", and saying "That thing is teh suxxorz, lawlz".

Its a simple matter of maturity, moreso than the debate of whether "suck" is a bad word or not.

TK was a pretty decent attraction, apart from the standing. And it fit. But I guess they knew that Monsters would be more popular. Even though in my eyes it doesnt fit and is corny, boring and stupid.

The whole point here is that saying "I don't like this attraction" means it is a 3 or 4 on a 10 scale, saying the attraction sucks is a much more negative view of it, say a 1 or 2.

I will also be sure to let my wife, son, and the 50 plus people working for me right now that I am very immature and need to grow up due to my frequent use of the word "suck"...

I tend to do my best not to judge people based upon what they type in an internet forum...
