i dont like SGE at all, ill never go on it again. when i was at wdw last weekend i got a dream fastpass and thats the only one i didnt use.

as for MILF (hey, thats got a double meaning too!! :) ) all i have to say about that is meh.

When it is not a word I would use in front of my son or my mother it is pretty much a word I would not use on a public forum that somebody else owns.
Nothing to do with PC, more to do with respect.

Perfectly said! :sohappy:

I'd love to do a thread about the words that people use in their common (pun intended) speech that underscore their lack of class. Many of them are used on this site each day. Perhaps the users don't realize how it makes them look when the only time a dictionary is referenced is to justify the use of a vulgar slang.

When did sounding coarse and ignorant become acceptable among Americans?

Whatever they are referring to, MILF hasn't been around long enough to figure out if it sucks or not, and we already know that about SGE. But to say that about Space, Buzz and especially TTA is simply wrong and short-sighted.

I would definitely include Space Mt on the list of attractions that make Tomorrowland suck.

MILF *snigger* would fit into the land much better if they took down the gaudy sign that ruins the theme. A scrolling display, a la le Visionarium, along the dome where it said Metropolis Science Center would fit much better.

It is only acceptable to those that are not articulate enough to communicate their thoughts without decent into the lewd or vulgar.

I have never been able to attribute this quote to the originator but this sums it up.

"Vulgarity is the last resort of the small-minded in their futile attempt to give expression to an idea."

Heading for the great escape.
Perchance do you have a quote on the pretentious and pompous?

No doubt there are some who are offended buy the work of Renaissance artists and count the Venus Di Milo as vulgar. Personally I often use industrial language at work, not because of some academic failings, or limited vocabulary but because its what people understand and respond to. Besides is there a word in the English language as adaptable and can convey a whole range of emotion as the F word?

Hooray for the boobies.:sohappy:

I gotta disagree that vulgarity is (always) the refuge of the unintelligent.

George Carlin has a mind like a steel trap, and the guy can cuss with the best of 'em, just as one example.

The word is lewd, and believe it or not, way back when (when I was a teen) the word referred ONLY to a specific act performed by one person on another in order to achieve "satisfaction." We knew that it could be used to describe what a vacuum cleaner or baby did, but that was never the context when we used/heard it. ;)

So yes, for many of us, it IS inappropriate to use on a Disney board.

PC means a term that may be objectionable to a group because of sexual, ethnicity, religion, or race. So this has nothing to do with being PC, but everything to do with being polite.

To add to the discussion, I think the current generation uses this word in a different (and not lewd) context. I am of your generation and do know the original meaning, but I think that the meaning has evolved. Today it just means something that is not good.

To make my point, queen Cleopatra wore red lipstick for a very particular reason when first meeting Marc Antony. Nobody considers red lipstick offensive today (nor even knows that meaning).

But in the end, offensiveness is defined in the eyes of the beholder, and your point is well taken. :)

I disagree, but if TL does suck to you as much as you are saying, then dont go, its that simple. There are other lands in the MK that you can enjoy.

SM is the best ride in MK and all of WDW IMO, and I enjoy it to the utmost every trip.

If you go to WDW to find fault with it, that's easy enough to do. I'm sure you will not find one person that likes everything in Tommorwland, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Liberty Square, Mickey's Toontown Fair the Hub or Mainstreet. My opinion is if you only go for the attractions you are really missing out on what Walt Disney World is all about. If you don't like something just hang around, public opinion expressed by the number of people that enter an attraction will eventually win out. There are so many things to do at Walt Disney World Resort, I would never let a couple of rides that I felt were inferior spoil my good time. I am much more concerned about the cleanliness, and safety in the parks than a few rides I don't care for. If people really want to be critical of WDW why don't they write a constructive article about herding people on to a bus like cattle. Do you realize how dangerous it is to have women with small babies or small children standing. For that matter it's dangerous for anybody to be standing on a bus. You see, it's very easy to come up with anything negative about a place that everyone on this board loves.

Wow, didn't really think this thread would turn into a debate about whether or not "suck" was a bad word or not.

Good Lord have mercy! Suck is not a bad word. I see nothing wrong in what the OP said. I am about to turn 40 for the record. The word is nothing to get your drawers in bunch over. Maggie
