The New Space Mountain. What do you think?

Hey I have i bit of an idea here. (might be starting something with this) They have been rumored to be looking into an upgrade to space mountain. This robocoaster technology might be an awfully good fit for Space mountain. Think about it. There would definitely be enough room. Just think of the possibilities. With that ride system and enhanced space props and effects in Space Mountain, That could be an awfully exciting and totally immersive tomorrowland experience.
What are the chances that this technology might be the future new Space Mountain. I am thinking about it and i think that would be absolutely awesome. Think of how realistic the space flight could be. And think how scary it would be when you combine the darkness of space with the increased ranges of movement.
Oh Man. I may be onto something here. I doubt there is enough room for that attraction in the space left by Timekeeper. But Space Mountain, now, there is tons and tons of Space.......What do you guys think?

I think any changes they are going to make as they refurbish will either: a) just clean and repair the tracks and coaster vehicles and fix the lighting, or b) a complete re-do along the lines of the Space Mountain at DRP (which they won't do because it is just plain old too expensive). I don't think they are planning any extensive changes to Space Mountain at any time soon.

Please, Please, PLEASE no robocoaster in Space Mountain.

That would be suicide for the ride. Almost everyone can/is willing to go on it now. If it was a robocoaster, that wouldn't be the case.

I love Space Mountain as it is. I don't like the concept of robocoasters. Anywhere in WDW.

IF Space Mountain receives this refurb, I'm sure it will be simillar to the refurb DLs' Space Mountain received. That would mean new, quieter track, a major cleaning, painting, updating of theming and all sources of external light sealed off for a truely pitch black ride experience. As well as the addition of music in the ride vehicles.

That's the refurb I'm excited for. Switching out the actual ride would be like re-theming the original Haunted Mansion. :lookaroun

I feel this would be a waste of technology. SM just needs a solid refurb or maybe new track laying (same design, smoother ride). The robo coaster could be a blockbuster itself, so it doesn't need SM's fame.

They will probably just refurb as in california although thats a different track and car.. I didnt manage to film that for the blog, but I quite liked the quirky retro feel and music... It was nice and smooth too.. FLis so rough now it needs a refurb..

I agree with Pongo. Why change the ride that much? It's fine how it is...just clean it up, paint, refurb, quieter tracks, etc.

The robocoaster ...would alienate a lot of fans of the original space mountain. Which, in my opinion is a pretty tame ride.

Just looking at the robo makes me  and I've been on a lot of rides and don't get sick easily (if at all).

my idea for SPace Mountain

I think they should leave one of the tracks exactly how it is, maybe just refurbish it and make it smoother, rip out the other track, and create an all new exciting ride that intertwines with the original........That way there would be 2 rides inside the same building..And you will still have the classic version there as well. oh and work on making it a little bit darker

Matter of opinion. I think it's an embarassment to WDW in it's current state.:fork:

Anyhow....it is getting refurbed (either a little or a whole lot) and it won't have anything to do with the robocoaster.

I enjoyed the new SM it was very well themed and the main lift is awesome. As for new SM for FL no idea so many rumors have gone around. I can tell you one thing though don't except major changes on track chances are very unlikely. The only reason Cali got a new track is due to the nature of the refurb.

Floridas' SM is even older. I don't see why it wouldn't recieve the same treatment with the track. I know I wouldn't mind it.

The reason is they are two completely different tracks and you know the saying things were built better in the past its true.
