The new park commercials

Not sure why everyone is up in arms about this ad, it's better than the "what is a walt disney world thrill feel like" ads that were everywhere for months.

If most people going to WDW only cared about the drop, they wouldn’t have spent the money to build a mountain around it with theming and animatronics

Don't forget the story in the ride. And the charm, whimsy, and fun.

I mean... uhhhh... I only like drop and thrill, me no like story... me big Disney Park fan, urgh!!!

and….the secret ingredient!

If the ride doesn’t evac before the end

Secret ingredient? I thought it was about salt mines. And band members. And Tiana being a successful co-op owner in the late 1920's. Wait... what's the storyline, again? I've gotten lost in the 3-4 different story threads the project lead threw into a blender when "creating" this.

Most don't care nearly as much as the super fans here. They do love theming and animatronics in general though. The problem with that particular ride is it's unreliable.

there are a lot of problems with that ride in addition to reliability, but that's discussed in the other thread so I'll just leave it there.
I'm just going off of what my kids told me. They loved the new Tiana theming, especially the music, and couldn't wait for me to ride it. But when it was my turn I ended up having to climb out of the boat pretty early on. I should point out that none of us had any sort of special love for the initial theming so the change was a good thing from our standpoint.

Agreed.
Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Pooh, Big Thunder, Space Mountain, Space Ship Earth and Carousel of Progress are due for a re theme as well.

They could always show both the drop AND the supposedly impressive show scenes they spent a lot of money on that feature a character that they clearly believe is a draw.

That’s an odd thing to say. I was talking about my particular family and a single attraction. People can and do have different preferences.

The commercial was concentrating on the thrill aspect of the ride, just as prior commercials and ads showed the drop part before the re-theming.

How would you retheme Pirates? Peter Pan, maybe add some real animatronics? Pooh, if retheme means something completely different, I agree. Big Thunder, isn't that what they are doing or do you mean something completely different? Space Ship earth, maybe a new verbal script and narrator plus put back something to see on the reverse trip, not those individual vehicle computer shows. Carousel of Progress, touch that and answer to me. It needs nothing other than a different purpose promotion. It needs to stay as it is and be just a historical presentation of the way things were in the 20th Century. Anyone younger than 35 years old has never really experienced the degree of progress that happened during the century. It is always good to see where we came from so we can gauge how we are doing today. But, chances are we are headed back that way so the youth of today should be able to see what they have in store.

I do so want to share an idea how to retheme it along the lines of the struggle of current ideology the confrontations it generates but I and anything I have posted for the last 19 years would vanish faster than pixie dust in a hurricane.
