I don't think we'll get a Blue Sky Cellar because we have so few (I.E. NONE) things that they seem to be willing to build.
True.:(

Unless they thrill us into insanity with FL, and DHS stuff.

Not in this case... Just wishful thinking.

Well... About that. :zipit: :animwink::zipit:
Well...for now.:D;)

And for those of you wondering why in the world management would approve this large an expansion in the Magic Kingdom when other parks seem to be in greater need... well, there are a few reasons:

- Magic Kingdom is the number one park in attendance in the world. However, it also hits capacity quite often... that means the turnstiles aren't turning at times. That's the number one reason that such an expansion of land (rather than just a large ride) was approved.

- Magic Kingdom was still a bit heavy on masculine-oriented attractions. Practically all of Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and Adventureland are centered on rides which relate more to boys than girls (obviously we're not talking absolutes here). This expansion helps alleviate that issue.

There are two reasons. I could list out a few more, but I think most people can figure them out on their own. And more new stuff is coming to the other parks too. As I said before, internally this recession is looked at in a more positive manner now - WDW weathered and continues to weather the storm quite well in contrast to other theme parks. If that is the case (and it is), then now is the time to sieze upon that advantage while other parks are more bereft of income.

Makes perfect sense with Fantasyland.:wave:

Glad to hear they are finally looking at MK's Capacity issues.

Well, I'll just tell you - and this is not official - but Indy Speedway's days are numbered. Other than a new thrill ride, that's the next big thing being looked at.

That really needs to go. Nothing Tomorrowland-ish and it's really small (length) compared to Autopia in DL. I'll be glad to see something else there, but I can't picture anything.

:sohappy::sohappy:

I PRAY you are right about that. That thing should have been axed a long time ago. Thrilled that something else would be going there.

Sorry if this is off topic, but I was just thinking about the logistics of accomplishing a project of this magnitude with the MK still operating.

At some point, Toontown will have to close permanently for demolition which will reduce park capacity and make the other lands more crowded.

Other areas of the existing FL will have to be walled off and some attractions closed- I'm sure Dumbo can't be relocated in one night. It may even effect the railroad for a period.

On top of this, there will need to be underground infrastructure work that could disrupt guest flow.

Given all of the above, I think that Disney is really going to have to hype this expansion as a "light at the end of the tunnel" and something wonderful for guests. With prior warning, guests might be able to deal with the inconveniences that come with the construction. Otherwise there's likely to be long lines at guest relations with the familiar chant of "My vacation has been ruined because you closed/moved/demolished my favorite ride/restaurant/restroom!!!"

Perhaps it wouldn't be so tough to deal with if there were still "slow" seasons, but as we've seen there really isn't any slow season anymore, just a not-insanely-crowded season. I'm guessing that we may see some work starting sooner (September 1st) rather than later (January 1st, after the Christmas rush). The sooner time frame would give them nearly four full months of reduced crowds, while a January start would only give them about 2 1/2 months before the spring break/Easter crowds start.

Anyway, I'm just glad I'm not the one that has to plan it.

The thing about the construction expansion is that they could do it in phases. It will still cause some problems for a little while. But feasibly TLM could be up and running before ToonTown gets evicted. In as busy of a park as MK is you can't ask for any better than that.

Ohh man I hope this is true... Question: would it still be part of Tomorrowland??? And would is involve Stitch in some way??? :lookaroun
