The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History'

But liberty square is not the time period of Lincoln.

Then the Hall of Presidents must be wrong with its focus on Lincoln and HM's 1900's New York gothic style. Wrong time period. The show is Great Moments in American History, not Great Moments around 1776. Besides I can't think of a better example of Liberty than the Emancipation Proclamation.

You know what's funny?

Ehh. It's the wrong. They just made it work within liberty square. The time period is of around the revolutionary war. Sons of liberty, liberty tree, founding of the country, etc. colonial America.

As a lifelong Muppet fan, I will say these videos were awesome. Disney has finally done something right. They are using the Muppets as they should be used to entertain folks in the way only the Muppets can. Great Job WDW!(See I can say WDW does great things... when they actually do)

Do anyone know exactly how many show versions there will be? The more the better in my view.

The Civil War was not a great time in American history. It was a rather dark and deadly time in which Americans killed Americans. Nothing good about it.

Emancipation would have happened regardless of the winner because it was always the right thing to do and the progress toward it was already in motion for the South.

The point being THE MUPPETS are doing a riff on American History in Liberty Square. Are we really going to get worked up over the time period of a Muppets skit? I just figured do something on Lincoln. Sam begins reading The Gettysburg Address. Put a beard on Fozzie. Tie skit to Lincoln is inside HOP. Something like that.

I think that this show did a great job of discussing American History for little kids. As a teacher, I love that this is somewhat educational. It is a great way to get kids interested in history. Also, it is entertaining for adults and kids. it might be premature. However, this little addition makes me excited for what might come in the future.

Am I the only one who finds having Sam in the Declaration show so far away from the rest of the cast a bit hard to follow? One of the vids I watched kept panning from JJ to window trio to Sam, and by the time they got to Sam, half his line was over. I imagine people watching are doing the same thing. Just seems a little awkward for positioning/timing.

I think that it'd probably be smarter to stick to the Revolutionary War for skits. There's so much material that they can use. When it comes to the Civil War, that's still a hot button issue, 150+ years later (example- whether or not the Confederate flag should be flown). I'm not so sure Sam or Kermit reading the Emancipation Proclamation or Gettysburg Address would be appropriate? I think the Hall of Presidents and the American Adventure do a pretty good job covering the darker parts of American history.

Maybe from watching a video. I like the fact that Sam was up in the HOP building. He's a bald eagle after all. Makes the show more immersive. But on this same thread is the complaint that in the other show all the Muppets were inside the three windows and "Sam wasn't in his perch". So there you go.

The Motley Fool just posted a good article about The Muppets. One thing that stuck out to me, though: this is the first new attraction in MK since Mine Train in 2014. Thank God that it's a good one.

It's a good show alright. But you could quibble with "first new attraction" since 7DMT. It's a show. Other shows have debuted after Mine Train and before the Muppets (e.g. Friendship Faire). Then you also have Festival of Fantasy parade.

I know that this is totally subjective, but I would be hesitant to call either of those attractions. Both are also long overdue replacements for their predecessors, whereas Muppets is truly a new experience.

Eh, it's not so much the fact he is up high, but the back and forth one must do to follow the show unless you are back a ways. If the rest of the cast was on the awning of the HoP, or if Sam was in the same building complex at the gang (albeit on a higher level), it flows better for me. Maybe I'm just biased cause of the crick in my neck right now.
