Maybe this should be in news and rumours but...

At the end of feburary we went on the Studio Back Lot Tour our tour guide said the Muppet 3D Movie is getting re-done. When you go through the costume department "tunnel thing" There are two giant Kermit The Frogs 3 to 4 metres tall, I guess 10-15 feet tall. They are wearing tuxedoes And are holding a cane. When we were there the canes wernt done yet they were still rough wood. Has anybody else seen this????? :hammer:

I could see Disney buy the Muppets real soon and make a bid on MGM it would add kids stuff with hensone and MGM would give it lots of adult and old movies. Also it problaly be around 6 billion.

it's not natural for a guy to get his voice that high

what exactly is "natural"? guess men are only "natural" if they have deep voices. and i guess you don't listen to music much? ever hear justin from 'n sync sing, his voice gets as high as prince.

I know that this is getting off of the muppets thing but I don't think that you can honestly compare justin from Nsync to Prince...or the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as prince.

I love the Muppets so much. They're my second favortie past time, behind Disney of course. i would love to see more of them in the park. I also would love to see them on TV again. Where did you hear about this show? When is it airing and on what station? As much as I love the Muppets though, I respect the fact that the puppeters don't want Disney to own it. Disney is very greedy and I'm ever so slightly afraid that without Henson around to keep an eye on things and give his imput that the Muppets would become just another venue for Disney to try and make money and they wouldn't be as great as they could be and have been in the past.

be sure to visit Muppetcentral.com for all your latest Muppet News. You can go there to read more about the next generation muppet show (non-sketch format) airing on FOX. You can also read about a Muppets Christmas Special coming to NBC. Not good news for ABC, but the muppets are the muppets.

I love the Muppets and watched show when it was on tv.Disney should own the rights to them ,but with regulations by the Henson family on how to showcase them in attractions and merchandise.

PBS does not own Sesame Street ,they promote the show on it's station . The Children's Television Network owns the show, thats why you see the show is sponsered by "Grants" (replace this word with "Commercials" .) While PBS does Telethones to keep the station running for educational veiwing .

By the way ,does anyone here watch "FarScape" on Sci-fi.This is a Henson production that would look cool as an attraction at the D-MGM Studios.

I think in away it would be poroblems for Disney all the movies and show that they did for other companies. SONY, WB, TNT, FOX, NBC, DISNEY, and a few others.

can we stop talking about music preferences please? None of us have any right to criticize each other's music preferences and it's totally unapplicable to disney anyway...all I said was I lost respect for the show when he was on there...nuff said. (and do not get me started on boybands)

Re Do Of Muppet Vision

:sohappy: That would be great in my opinion for a re do of the show. Don't get me wrong I love the show they have now, but after seeing it several times it gets boring. So I hope that rumor abou it getting a re do is true.

thing is...they just built MuppetVision at DCA (well...a year ago, but it's still pretty new), and if they changed the show, I would think it would change everywhere. Would they change Cali Adventure's version after only one year? (granted our version is what...9 years old?)

Nice paradox, Dogboy.
Anyway, I think the Muppets could used not for another ride, since it will be too redundant. Maybe they could be used in other places of the park, like some statues, fake ads like the ones in the que and things of the sort. If they get Sesame Street, that's another story: I foresee a Live Show coming.

With Fox and NBC the selected networks to air the upcoming Muppet programs, I would think Disney must be moving even further out of the picture. The Laughingplace.com series mentioned in a previous post is a good history lesson on the Muppets/Disney relationship, and shows why there's a lot of bitterness on the part of the Henson family toward Disney.
It's too bad, because that would have been a great marriage...once upon a time.

Well - I would love to see it happen , but I just don'y hold out much faith in any rumors these days - too many things have been hinted at - even from official sources - that never came to be.

Does really nobody know anything about the Muppet High School videos that were filmed at Disney-MGM Studios a short while ago? I mean, did they lie to me when they told me this on the backlot tour?

I'll head over to Muppetcentral to check it out

I just read the entire article a laughingplace.com (very good read) and have come to believe that something is in the works. The most obvious of this is the opening of the MV3d at DCA. If they were on rough terms, this proabably would not have happened. As for the other two networks getting the up and coming specials, do we have any idea when that deal was signed. Maybe it was awhile ago before things were "worked" out. I'm sure it takes years to put this stuff together. I'll just keep hoping:)

I read somewhere that a newspin off of the muppet show was not planned to be made by disney any time soon, but a country bears show would be. It said something like disney was planning on making a spin off tv show from the county bear movie. Since all of those other companys have rights to muppets too, I guess disney want's to make a show not using the muppets, but still using Jim Henson puppets.

Also, whatever happened to all of those other muppet shows that mgm had when they opened? I remember two. I think one was replaced by the little mermaid, but I can't remember on the other.
