In the last six months I started getting the Ghiradelli hot chocolate. It's like $12 but it's great.

I've been eyeing the sundaes there for years... I just can't bring myself to spend $25 on a sundae. Especially when I can get the Firehouse Dalmatian sundae at the Gibson girl for like $8.

I hear you but I think for the extra $5 I’d go with vanilla scoop with hot fudge from Ghirardelli. The ice cream is premium quality. And it feels more like two scoops.

I wanted to try that on my last trip!

FWIW, I've never paid over $20 for a single item there, though that might depend on the specific item you order. To me it's worth the premium price when compared to the other ice cream they sell.

Ghiradelli's always been expensive, it's been close to $20 for one of the menu options on the sign out front for a long time.

It's our family's go to for ice cream because we could buy the Gibson Girl/Clarabelle's stuff at the grocery store and we've had nothing but bad luck with Salt & Straw. We've always been happy with the quality.

And I agree, the problem with Disneyland food isn't really the price. At this point it is more often portion size or quality that is the issue than price.

It's good stuff. I'm not a fan of those weird flavors at Salt n Straw and and Gibson Girl is Dreyer's right?

My go to Ghirardelli sundae is the chocolate covered Strawberry. Instead of a square it has its namesake on top, hot fudge, strawberry ice cream, strawberry topping, vanilla ice cream, and hot fudge on the bottom. Fantastic and seeing as I get an item that usually sells on its own for $5-10 as a garnish, seems like a pretty good bargain even at Disney prices.

There are some weird flavors I wouldn’t try at Salt n Straw. I have to say there was two flavors I do like. I always get the Honey Lavender. The Cinnamon Snickerdoodle is good too.

Interesting how they can figure out for Lunar New Years that the festival booths should be open from 11:30 to park close, but for Christmas they thought it was too hard to do anything beyond noon to six.

I saw the long lines for the Lunar year booths and was almost suckered but than I remembered the strong likelihood that nothing I ordered would be better than my neighborhood Panda Express.

See, I've only had Panda Express like three times in my entire life so I wouldn't have that issue lol.

Maybe it's the stress of standardized testing, maybe it's being stuck inside for four days due to freezing cold & snow, but I'm seriously tempted to drop some dollars to fly out for Lunar New Year over President's Day weekend.

Is it worth flying out just for that? Probably not, but January is always a stressful month and I would like to do Lunar New Year at some point.

Haha yeah Definitely not worth flying out for Lunar Year but if you just want to go to Disneyland and Lunar Year is the cherry on top than that’s different.

Legoland stepping up their game. That mini fig AA looks great!

That looks like a lot of fun. They replaced the self driving cars and fire town for this.

40mph at Legoland inside a space themed show building. Impressive. Yeah we’re planning on going sometime in April or May to check it out and get one of those incredible churros. Lol. Last time we were there on a rainy day and they gave us tickets to come back. Now THAT’s customer service.

Back to the Future is a near perfect screenplay. The only flaw is that it's set in 1955 California and not one person mentions Disneyland. What gives?
There is an indirect reference in 1985, Dave (Marty's brother) wears a Mickey shirt in the Polaroid, which points to a family trip to Disneyland.

But in 1955, given that Hill Valley is set supposedly in Northern California around Mendocino County its not hard to believe that people wouldn't be talking about it at that point since it had only opened 4 months prior to the events in the movie.

And then there is the real life answer that its done by Universal so they wouldn't directly reference a rival theme park operator.
