Youre a participant in Indy in only the most superficial sense.

It's way different than, say, guardians "you're recruits!"
You’re the greedy stupid globetrotter here to get riches, youth, or enlightenment but you just have to do the one thing you’re not allowed to do. The ride doesn’t exist without you.

Indiana jones framed the ride experience perfectly. Just the right amount of 'involvement' by the rider.

Note Indy doesn't embrace narcissism like a lot of modern rides by applauding and congratulating you for 'you did it!'

After all these months of hearing about Netflix House… I just watched a few video overviews posted on YouTube…and… I don’t think I’ve ever been so underwhelmed by anything else in all my life. Is that really all it is? Who is this FOR?!?! Some of the setpieces look well-designed, but I wouldn’t travel more than twenty feet (or pay ANYTHING) to experience anything shown on offer there so far.

Eeeeeeesh!

Going to Disneyland tomorrow for the first time in a couple months. Those Enchant end of year black outs are brutal Disney. Id imagine I'm not the type of guest they want to be pushing out of the parks for 5 months a year between the holidays and Summer but oh well I'm guessing the typical Enchant key holder must be.

Anyway I pretty much only go to Disneyland in ideal weather. I plan my trips around the weather. Tomorrow looks to be cold, rainy and gloomy. We can't change our reservation as our family/ guests itinerary cant be adjusted. Should be interesting. We did Leogland on a cold, misty February day earlier this year and something about it was kind of nice and invigorating. Of course the park being empty helped. Something tells me Disneyland wont be empty.

I'll try to cheer you up, and you might consider this as you deal with a cold, drippy day tomorrow...

I've gotten interested in landscape architecture in my retirement, and with my new house in a new climate. So I've learned some stuff about previously unknown (to me) concepts like root development and stress levels of plants and root systems. SoCal had a very mild summer overall (low stress for vegetation) and that quickly morphed into an unusually cool and wet autumn. This is fabulous for both newly planted trees and shrubs (that are not cheap), and even better for very well established trees and landscaping like Disneyland has.

The temps have been much cooler than normal the past two months, and the rain levels all across SoCal are OFF THE CHARTS! The government's climate system only goes to 200% of normal (purple) and all of OC and most of the entire state of California is already pegged way over 200%. OFF THE CHARTS rain and wet and damp soil seeping way down to the deepest root systems.

So tomorrow as you walk the parks, look at those big established trees, especially around Adventureland, Grizzly Peak, and along the Railroad and River routes. Those trees are drinking all this early water into their root systems like the drunk at the end of the bar. The roots will grow and strengthen all winter with this early water, and next spring and summer they will have unprecedented branch and leaf growth and overall health!

You can only do so much with sprinklers and drip irrigation (just get plants to simply survive, but not actually thrive), but a long unusually wet winter does incredible things that a gardening team and mechanical irrigation never could!

Now thats how you look at that bright side of things TP! Is there anything you can say to make me feel better about the fact that as of 3pm the day before my rainy day at Disneyland I have not one pair of shoes that will protect my feet/ socks from the rain. Unless it's just a light sprinkle here n there. Might have to go full crocs. I don't own those either but I know I can buy them at Disneyland for $80. 😒

Have you tried this? You could get it at Target tonight and the whole family's shoes will be ready by morning...

Please don't. At least not past the end of your driveway. Please.

I read it about this for the first time during a quick google search for DL rainy day shoes yesterday. Didn't pull the trigger as it looked like the rain was going to stop before we got to the park but alas. Also was wondering if the spray has negative effects on the shoes look or feel. But I've grown more desperate and I will probably be doing this tonight. Thank you.

For kids tennis shoes, it's no problem. For adult casual shoes, it's also no problem.

I wouldn't use it on your best Allen Edmonds, or anything leather really. But for everyday casual shoes, natural or synthetic fibers, it's great and when it dries it's entirely unnoticeable.

I just looked, and at 3:30pm Pacific Time right now, it is currently 54 degrees and raining in downtown Los Angeles. 🌧️

At the same time, 1,150 miles due north, it is currently 56 degrees and partly cloudy in downtown Seattle. ⛅

In mid November?!? That's not supposed to be happening. 🤣

Tell me about it. Especially on the heels of last weekends storm. Very unpleased. Between the rain, having to buy ponchos/ water repellant shoe spray and my 3 day cervicogenic headache I’m about over it.
