Random Weather Thought... Autumn is when SoCal weather can really shine compared to the rest of the nation.
Referencing another thread where a delivery robot is getting stuck in a snowstorm tonight in Indiana; It's currently a balmy 65 degrees as the first Fantasmic! now starts at Disneyland tonight. But in South Bend, Indiana at the same time it is currently 29 degrees with heavy snowfall. In downtown Chicago it is 26 degrees with light snowfall. In the middle of Nebraska it is currently 15 degrees and clear. In Columbus, Ohio it's currently 31 degrees with snow flurries.
Even down South, right now nearing Midnight in suburban Atlanta it's 39 degrees tonight. Winter's on its way fast!

Agree with the sentiment although today was a blistering 94 degrees where we celebrated my nephews birthday at a park in Calabasas.

I saw the temps spiked this weekend in SoCal! We were a mild 76 today, but the nights get crisp and cool fast here this time of year.
On the flip side, the forecast by Thursday this week at Disneyland is for an inch or so of rain and highs only in the 60's.

Fabulous!
I grew up in Seattle, and in the mid 20th century we'd only get snow there every two or three years. And it would melt by noon. Oddly, it snows and sticks more in Seattle now than it used to. But as an adult I spent a few winters in New England, and that first snowfall of the year after Thanksgiving or nearing Christmas was just magical. Such a fun way to change the seasons!
While there should be an inch or so of rain at Disneyland on Thursday, the mountains of the southern Sierras and the Mammoth Mountain resort popular with SoCal'ers are set to get a foot or two of snow late this week. This isn't far from where Walt originally wanted to build his Mineral King ski resort, where the Country Bear Jamboree would be the lobby entertainment in the evenings.
But an early first snowstorm now means they're planning an early opening day this year!

Snow is also possible for the San Bernardino Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains.

Just as the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area prepares for the 2025/2026 season opener, tentatively planned for Friday, Nov. 14, a significant weather change will bring a snowstorm to the Eastern Sierra.
The ski area on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains — which is 300-plus miles or about a five-to-six-hour drive north along Highway 395 from Los Angeles — with its summit at 11,053 feet, has more than 3,500 acres of skiable terrain.
A strong Pacific low-pressure system is expected to bring rain and snow to the area, with about one to two feet of snow predicted for elevations over 9,000 feet. The weather change is expected to hit California late this week. This system carries a healthy moisture plume and solid jet support, setting up a well-organized Sierra storm."....
