I love Disneyland, but man, their restroom situation (apart from GE) leaves a lot to be desired. Often too small, often in weird locations, they're the one thing that is always better outside of DL park rather than in it.

Ironically (or not?), Tomorrowland is my number two land for DL restrooms. Both the Autopia and Space restrooms are better than the others within the traditional core of Disneyland.
I really hate the restroom situation here. Women's rooms always have a line and none of them are big enough, with the exception of the ones in Adventureland.

Still... Galaxy's Edge at WDW and DL are the exact same size...and yet the restrooms are still bigger at WDW. 🤦‍♀️ I mean, the rest of the park I get because what can you do with the space allotted, but come on. Us women just want some larger restrooms. 🤣

Honestly, it’s wild that y’all have to sit down to pee. Something I don’t appreciate enough.

I'm not wild about the Space restrooms because the ladies rooms are ALWAYS crowded.

I like the Adventureland ones because they are significantly larger. I also like the ones to the right as you enter the park because no one seems to know they exist.

At MK...yeah, they could have done something better with Tangled, but those restrooms are huge and I love it. 🤣 Go to the back and no one's used the stalls, and they're clean... it's great! 😂😂😂

I saw Fantasmic last night. It has been YEARS since I saw this version, and it was before Murphy got fired (too soon? 🤣) Anyway.

I really liked all of the changes. Nice updates from the WDW version. I liked that they brought back the classic Peter Pan scene, though. Really liked the updates to the princesses.

Then we got to the former Murphy scene...that was just... disappointing. I feel like they put zero effort into that and could have come up with something better. It's like the rest of the show was so perfect...and then there was that. Especially for as much time as they had. It was Maleficent dancing around and some projections with thorns.

The only other thing I wasn't wild about was the Mickey crossing over thing. It just wasn't well executed and a bit confusing. I think the villains invading worked better.

I do prefer the amphitheater. Personal preference. I have ADHD, so having it showed on TSI, I am hyper aware of everything going on around me, so people walking behind me while I'm watching is super distracting. I like the immersive experience of the amphitheater; I'm less distracted. I bought the dining package (which wasn't bad, $33 at Rancho del Zocalo with DVC discount), which was worth it for me with my ADHD and height (I'm 5ft tall). Oh, and I loved that the projections for fireworks are shown on the river. I love HEA, but a major issue is that you have to be in front of the castle to get the experience. It's nice that there's an additional option here.

I also realized after seeing it that they got rid of the pyro. Understandable for CA, honestly, but it does give it something extra.

Also at the beginning right before you go into the room where they're battling at the fortress, to the left, there is a skeleton of a pirate. If you watch it, right as you enter, he turns back to flesh. It's a cool effect.

I have definitely been on this too many times.

Like, every day, at least one a day when I'm here.

I just love all the details.

Such a fantastic effect. I love the octopus playing with the treasure. You probably know this, but it was added in 2018 -- yet seamlessly blends in with the old-school practical effects elsewhere in the ride.

Opened alongside the hen auction scene, an example of a less tasteful, less thoughtfully-integrated update, IMO.

I figured it was added sometime in that period. I came in 2017 and didn't make it back until last year. Thanks COVID.

I'm with you on the Autopia restroom, which is one of the larger ones and typically not too crowded.

But the Space Mountain restroom????? Oh man, I try to avoid at all costs. It gets SO CROWDED over there; getting in and out is always chaos, in my experience.

Also, very glad DL guests can follow directions about standing on a color inside Rise, and then getting in the row matching their color.

This is apparently too much of an ask for WDW guests...🙄😂 Oh Lord...
Elaborating on this...every single time in WDW...

"You have been assigned a color. Remember that color."

Guests in WDW:

"What color were we?" "Were we silver?" "No, you were blue, we were silver." "Is that red?" "No, that's orange." "Are you sure? That looks red." "What color did they tell us again?" "I don't remember."

Maybe I've gotten lucky, but I've never once used the Space restrooms and felt like it was overcrowded (maybe the area outside of it, but never the actual restrooms themselves). I've always found a surplus of stalls and urinals to use and everything in good, clean condition.

Fantasyland Theater is nice because it's often overlooked, and I like the thematic details of the Alice bathrooms. The Rancho del Zocalo RR is tiny and therefore not a favorite. I don't love the Adventureland RR, but would probably take them over the NOS restrooms. I agree that the ones next to Red Rose Tavern are the worst in FL. I have no idea what Toydarian Toymaker is.

Too Many Hats' favorite restrooms at Disneyland:
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Rancho del Zocalo
  • Toydarian Toymaker
  • Fantasyland Theatre
Avoid at all costs:
  • Adventureland
  • Space Mountain
  • Red Rose Taverne
Best restroom in all of DLR in my opinion is the one right next to Disneyana, and I'll fight anyone that says different. ;)

But the Alice ones are up there as well.

I like Adventureland (women's) because everyone goes to the right, not realizing there is a second row of stalls. So they're clean and less crowded. And bigger. And don't usually have a line. Except for those who don't realize that there's two rows and are trying to stand in line at the right...

We have had very different experiences then, haha. I feel like I always end up waiting in line for a urinal at the Space restroom.

Rancho del Zocalo is indeed small but (in my experience) during the mornings and late evenings it's typically pretty empty. Not a lot of traffic in that beautiful walkway connecting Frontierland and Fantasy Faire.

The restroom in Galaxy's Edge next to Toydarian Toymaker (near Ronto Roasters... IDK what that shopping area is officially called) is maybe the largest in the park, and has hand dryers built into each sink.

I love the totally bizarre single urinal to your left after you walk in. I've seen it cause lots of bewilderment haha.

I have real nostalgia (as funny as that sounds) for the Main Street restrooms; I tend to hit the City Hall one virtually every single visit right after entering the park. I just wouldn't say they're the most accessible or reliably unoccupied.

The Disneyana ones are empty whenever I visit them, any time of the day. Its why they are on the top of my list, I know that if I need to go they will be empty and clean because most don't know they are there just as you walk by as most are just in a hurry to get inside the Park.

On the topic of restrooms (on which I apparently have a lot of thoughts...)

Took a photo of this ad for the Emporium within the Plaza Inn restroom. Very interesting Imagineering choice. BTW I'm not a creep, I swear; there was no one else in the restroom when I took the photo.

Also noticed the Buena Vista Street restroom still features DCA 1.0 tiling. Neat! Again, not typically a dude who goes around snapping photos in restrooms.

This is a real phenomenon. Disneyland has guests who know what’s up, on account of it being such a locals park. Orlando tourists sometimes need more hand-holding.
