It won’t happen overnight but there are things that can be done. Quietly and slowly moving certain (news grabbing employees) to new jobs. They can amend the new guidelines. Guidelines change all the time. It won’t go back to 1955 but I can’t see why the couldn’t reel it back in a bit.
Disney has been softening the grooming guidelines for well over a decade. You can even find threads from back then about it on this site for WDW -

Its only been the recent things that some find extreme. So yeah I don't see them going back to guidelines even from 5 years ago.

My guess is that newer standards like beards and tattoos are likely here to stay. Maybe some things like nail polish for men get scaled back. But other than that I don't see much more being scaled back.

Well that’s the pretty much the rub isn’t it? The costume.
If that and nail polish were the only things that got hackles all up in a tizzy, that is an easy fix and I'm betting accepted by most CMs. My opinion, but given the pages upon pages of discussion in this forum alone lamenting the loss of the "Disney Look" before that event even happened I doubt it'd be over.

I think it would be pretty much over with the GP if they fixed those two things. Over here, yeah there will always be more conversation. Personally I think the Disney look was fine pre- Pandemic. Nothing ever really caught my attention.

Well, the other stuff wasn't making headlines for a reason. Because people didn’t care. It’s safe to assume A LOT more people care about what’s going on at BBB than a male CM with a beard in 2018 working at the Emporium. I mean it’s just common sense right? Ones a lot more jarring.
Other than that one time has that CM or any other male CM even been seen working BBB again in a similar costume? I'm honestly asking as I'm not sure. If no then this is all academic anyways.

I’ve seen photos of three different ones now in various articles and social media posts. The original and the most fabulous of the three from Disneyland. The one TP just posted a little while ago and in last place the the bald one that gave me creeper vibes from Disney World.

Ok, so since its not being posted about daily I'm going to guess this still isn't a regular occurrence. So change out the costume and let them continue to work there, I don't see that as being much of an issue.

I’d be ok with that. Would still be disappointed if that’s who my daughter got for our $300 experience though.

To each their own, I don't see this as any different than any male hairdresser/cosmetologist that you find in any salon across the Southland.
Make cosmetologists can be just as talented and helpful as female ones, if not more. All they’re doing is putting on makeup. I agree with you, why does it matter if it’s a man or a woman doing it? As long as they know what they’re doing, that’s all that should matter.

Disney wants to make money. If a CM makes guests uncomfortable and they complain I'll bet that CM would get moved. The fact that nontraditional CMs keep getting assigned there tells me there is not much, if any, of an issue.

Greetings from Vancouver BC. This is the first time I've been here without going straight to Whistler in many years. Who built all these giant glass condo towers downtown?

It was only 2 degrees cooler here when we landed than when we took off from Lindbergh Field, which seems statistically impossible for September, but Mother Nature doesn't joke around. Air Canada has two non-stop flights per day now from San Diego to Vancouver; really lovely and friendly service, and the stewardess even said "move aboout the cabin" with a heavy Canadian accent to put an exclamation point on the entire experience. I loved it. I was seated next to a charming Canadian lady who makes her own 100 layer puff pastry dough from scratch (and isn't afraid to tell you about it).

At least the sunny weather forecast for Banff this weekend has lows in the upper 30's this weekend, which should prove we aren't in SoCal. Or as they say in Canadian, low temps around 4. Funny people, but you couldn't ask for nicer neighbors. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

It’s definitely cooled down now, but still decent temperatures. Sounds like you just missed the rain from the other day (how badly we needed it, and need it).

So my dad gave me a copy of The Ride of a Lifetime almost a year ago and I never started it because I was reading other books, but I just went to start it tonight and it's a signed copy????? I actually freaked out when I opened the book and saw this, I know he's not the best Disney executive or anything lmao but what a cool thing to own and get to carry with me and read for the near future.

Seeing Disney acknowledge Fox IPs as their own is always so jarring. Lets bring him to Oogie Boogie Bash

The Walt Disney Co. has seriously lost its way.

I am just curious what study/comment/approval was had to get the pin made... being that The Fly is so obscure as it is, old as it is, and even then people have to be-
- A fan of the film
- Also a Disney fan
- A hardcore Disney fan (D23)
- Collect pins
- Like the cartoony design

I mean sure, it's a limited edition small production pin... but like, we're looking at what... maybe 1, 2 people on the planet who meet all the above criteria?
