Deciding whether to go to the parks tomorrow or cancel on threat of rain. I wonder if fear of getting dinged causes key holders to go in bad weather when they otherwise would stay home. Are rainy days busier than they used to be?

Just reserved for opening weekend! Haven't actually ever done a parade dining package so I'm curious how the view is.

This review from November indicates this area as the viewing section:

This is the section they sat me in with the MSEP parade dining package. @waltography The view is ok. You want to sit at the furthest point East or West in that section depending on which showing you’re watching as you only have just a short time view as it comes around the bend in Town Square. We saw the parade when it was coming from IASW so we sat at the furthest East point (Disneyana side) and could at least watch for a little as it turned the corner by City Hall. Although now that I think about it the East side may be better for both parades if you consider where the parade gates are in Town Square.

Get there at least 45 min early though if you want to get a good spot or a spot on the curb. Kind of defeats the purpose of the dining package, right?

Anyway the package is reasonably priced considering the food and drink alone are valued at about $25. I just don’t know why they can’t give you the option of the regular food for the dining package. I think all the regular sides and potato’s are better l. At least they were for the MSEP dining package.

Overall for my money if I have to show up 30-45 minutes early for a good spot anyway I may as well just wait the 1.5 hours for my favorite parade spots and get a good seat or bench. I think the view you get with their package kind of reflects the “cheaper” price. It’s definitely not the best and you’re lucky to get the curb unless you get there early.

Thanks for the heads up! Good to set my expectations; I don't mind getting there 45 minutes early knowing that opening weekend for this parade will probably be mildly crazy with folks camping out right at park open, so it's a small price to pay.

I'm also confused that the food's prix fixe, but I'm curious about the short rib so this'll probably be a one and done.

Yeah it’s a one and done thing. It’s always weird kind of telling people to do otherwise when you have already gotten your “one” in. That’s right, if opening weekend is important to you it’s an especially good deal.

I almost did the MSEP package; even had it booked. But ultimately I decided that I just wanted the regular menu (and at least for MSEP the dining times *started* later than I would normally want to eat lunch) and that I would just find a regular spot and tough it out.

Ultimately it all worked out, I got the meal I wanted, and it was cheaper to boot.

I might do BB Fantasmic again, just because BB has such a cool atmosphere and it made watching F! so much easier and more comfortable. But otherwise I'm not sold on the value on any of the dining packages.

I think the value is there if you just care about not having to camping out (kind of). At $45 you re paying $20 for a spot basically. And if you aren’t too concerned about where you end up in that section than it’s a good deal as you don’t have to show up 30-45 early. Personally I don’t see the value anymore as I’d rather eat exactly what I want and wait longer for that bench near the Matterhorn than pay for the mediocre spot they give you. These things are basically a one and done for pass holders.

I found it shockingly easy to find a parade spot on Christmas Eve. For both showings. And the Fireworks. Didn't wait more than 10 minutes, just ducked under the rope where we could squeeze in.

Obviously it's different when there are small children where you need to be close in order for them to actually see it. I have no issue standing in the very back.

I wonder if you were helped by the fact that there were no pass holders? Was it for the second parade? Typically it’s not too hard to get a decent spot for those especially when they are really late. Like my kids won’t make it to the second late night parade in the summer.

Both parades! Viewing on Main Street both times. I watched A Christmas Fantasy twice... It's that good lol

Looks like a new Winnie The Pooh TV Series was planned back in 2014. The series was called "The World According To Winnie The Pooh" which was a collaboration between Disney Television Animation and Cartoon Saloon (Wolfwalkers, The Secret of Kells) with a pilot being created around the same period.

It was passed by new Disney ABC leadership alongside Disney XD's "Welcome To Simpleton" & "Very Important House" on 2016.

Does anyone know if the free parking included with an Inspire key can be used on days that I don't have a park reservation, to visit Downtown Disney?

Yes; keyholders can't use their parking perk when their pass is blocked out (so Inspire Keys can't park for free the last two weeks of the year, for example).
