I didn't realize that when they moved Dumbo they added the fountains but otherwise it still basically looked the same way it always had. I guess I figured they did something beyond that to gussy it up a little for New Fantasyland. Evidently not.

Great find!
They did replace the disco ball with the rainbow balloon. lol

It is interesting that seemingly sometime before the mid-80's (both pictures from Daveland are said to be from '86) that they redecorated it making it look a lot closer to the version in Fantasyland today (though not as detailed)

I went to DTD this past weekend, and I can’t help but wonder...

Was Welcome to Tomorrowland pulled from the current esplanade loop? I can’t seem to remember hearing it at all during my visit, which sucks because it’s one of my favorite tracks. It’s also criminally underrated IMO.

I've never heard this track before. It reminds me a lot of the music in Buzz Lightyear.

Umm... that’s one way of spinning this junk.

Does this mean... the Disneyland version is racist and misogynistic?

The article isn't alluding to racism and misogyny but diversity specifically amongst the Disney princesses. Unlike the other castles, Hong Kong's new castle is inspired by pretty much all of the princesses and not just one. That's what the article is about. The author includes feminist rhetoric that doesn't work, which is why I find it far-fetched, but that's all.

Fair enough. I just ran with that take from the line “ Unlike the Cinderella Castles in Florida and Tokyo or the Sleeping Beauty Castles in California and Paris...”

I was going to point out the hypocrisy of censoring POC from movie posters, reportedly excluding gay relationships to appease certain populations, and using questionable filming sites.

But now that I think of it, maybe it is pretty progressive of them to make that kind of statement in China, in light of that story of them editing Finn out of Star Wars posters.

That thing's a hot mess. Minus the hot.

Naw....this one's much more phallic......but not quite Little Mermaid VHS clamshell phallic.
