Do you search the user and key word at the same time?
I do, and at times it does work flawlessly. On the other hand, today I looked up instances where I have used the term Tron. According to the search engine I never have. Sometimes I wonder if the period in my moniker confuses it, though it does recognize my screen name in the "user" box.

Sad how they ve already eliminated Splash Mountain from Merch representing the entire park. Case in point this new Starbucks tumbler. I’ve noticed the Splash Mountain icon has been eliminated on the last few similar merch items in general. I’m guessing it’ll start showing up again when the silhouette of the mountain isn’t racist anymore in a couple years because it will have the boat on top of chikapin hill. 😕

Stop a sec and look at the big picture. Artwork aside, we’re talking about STARBUCKS merch in DISNEYLAND. And nearby you can buy Marvel snd Star Wars merch...soon to be joined by other IPs Disney didn’t create.

The identity, history and legacy of the studio and the park mean NOTHING to the people in charge. Nothing they do should surprise us at this point.

I agree with the sentiment but Starbucks and removing Splash Mountain are two very different things. Also, lets be honest. The Starbucks on Main Street is much more tastefully done then the Concept art of Frog Mountain with the boat on top.
If this was the same Main Street that had the smoke shop and the Wizard of Bras Id be more inclined to agree. To be honest I don’t feel any different walking into the Starbucks on Main Street than I do walking into the Emporium. They re both Big and corporate-y stores hiding behind turn of the 20th century Main Street facades.

Also tbh, there are still things that would surprise me. If they were ever to get rid of POTC, the HM or Matterhorn that would definitely surprise me. With that said, the list has gotten much shorter for me after the Splash announcement.

The modern corporate additions to Disneyland such as Starbucks and Star Wars feel wildly out of place to me, but Starbucks is at least concealed behind a Main Street building and has good black coffee, and Star Wars can be avoided entirely due to its design that separates it from the rest of the park and feels like you're park-hopping rather than going to another land at Disneyland.

My only problem with Starbucks in DL is just that Starbucks is everywhere. I half expect to soon see Blue Bayou become an Olive Garden.

And no matter what one thinks of Frog Mtn, at least it’ll be based on a hand-drawn film created by Disney Animation.

Yeah but that film sucks.

It’s a lot better than Song of the South. 😃PatF isn’t perfect (villain plot’s unnecessarily complicated and the main character’s a frog for far too much of the running time), but it’s fun, funny, a bit scary, beautifully animated, and has excellent songs and likeable characters.

I can’t think of any hand-drawn theatrical Disney animated film that sucks. Even Black Cauldron, Home on the Range, The Fox and the Hound and Robin Hood (my picks for the weakest) have enough good to make them worth seeing. 🙂

I've never been a fan of using the quality of a film as the basis for determining its merits as an attraction. Great care needs to be taken to ensure the environments, score, etc. lend themselves to an experiential story structure as opposed to a linear two dimensional film. I'm not sure WDI thinks like this anymore- a great many of their more recent attractions really don't take the time to flesh out environments and emotional arcs like they Imagineers of yesteryear.

Song of the South is as boring as they come, but the attraction loosely based on it is one of the most beloved rides ever.

I've never been... I figure that's a date type restaurant and I have yet to attend the park with a girl that's worth spending those prices on...

But I've heard the food pales in comparison to Carthay Circle. That said, I could use a good filet and lobster.

I’ve also only had Cathay once in the last few years (actually once total) and I enjoyed my meal at Blue Bayou more. Could have something to do with what I ordered though. Got the pork chop. Filet n lobster > pork chop. I remember the cheese biscuits and a couple other appetizers being pretty good though. Carthay might be more consistent and just have more variety on their menu but the night I ate Blue Bayou the food was quite enjoyable. Blue Bayou gets bonus points for the atmosphere too.

Hahah, I took the wife. So what were they worth out of curiosity? Pizza Planet? Lol. I’m sure they were good enough for some Plaza Inn at least.

Well, the first test is whether I'm willing to go to Disneyland with them... or just DCA. I don't need to sully Disneyland's memory with the prospect of a less than delightful evening. I had a few DCA only girls last year. All lovely ladies, and riding Guardians or Incredicoaster or doing the Animation thingy or sharing a Boudin Sourdough Loaf all made for delightful evenings. I'm in touch with most of them still, though just as friends.

Of the 2 or 3 that made the cut for actual Disneyland one was an absolute trooper. I was actually able to talk Disneyland with her beyond "The new Halloween Dessert looks great". She rode Splash in December without complaining about getting wet. She didn't have the audacity to suggest going over to DCA. Of course, no one needs a whole Plaza Inn Fried Chicken meal, especially when trying to maintain composure, but she was elated at the opportunity to split one of those Fried Chicken dinners. If I recall correct, we also split a popcorn- which was going to be paid for but an acquaintance working the cart insisted on it being complimentary. A friend also walked us to the front of Indy. All in all a great evening, we hung out quite a bit before I moved, and I still make a point to see her whenever I'm in the area.

Of course, this was all made possible by The Walt Disney Company who graciously gives free theme park admission and generous food and beverage discounts to their staff so admission for both parties was always free.

Plaza Inn lady sounds great! I’ll officiate the wedding if need be.

You are the Don Juan of Disneyland. The Casanova of Critter Country.

Lol. Love the system you have going on.
