So, who is going to public fireworks displays this weekend? I've been hearing them for the last couple of weeks lately. Sometimes I hear them at 9:15pm but I don't think it is Disneyland.

We don't have any. They were all cancelled. :( And I live in an "unincorporated" part of my county, where home fireworks aren't allowed. If my daughter really wants to (I don't care either way), we'll drive to the next town and watch rando neighborhood fireworks. :)

I lost interest in the 4th fireworks displays years ago.

Maybe I just live in a boring area, but my general mindset is that if you've seen one Independence Day fireworks show, you've seen them all.

With the exception of that one show in Philadelphia a few years ago where they accidentally set them all off within the first two minutes.

Have you been to the MK show? You’re surrounded by them

My city has always banned fireworks because of brush fires. It's a $1000 fine if caught. However that doesn't stop people from doing it anyway since the neighboring city has fireworks for sale everywhere.

It’s been insane since March because of the quarantine. Almost every single night around 11pm

I'm listening to the Musical History of Disneyland box set. One of my favorite tracks is the incredibly hammy "Adventure Thru Inner Space" just because it gets a laugh out of me. It's completely hilarious.
If you were as old as me, that track would also bring back memories of a nine year old self staring about with a big smile of awe and joy at the line, “...I can see that NOTHING is soild, no matter how it might appear!” (Have loved science ever since).

Paul Frees was the greatest.

“MAAAAGNIFICAAAATIIIIONNNNN!!!!!!” 😊

"Now, in our Display Area, you will see modern miracles created by rearranging the molecules of not only water, but of air, coal, petroleum and many other Raw Materials. This is Monsanto."

Sounds like a blast.

It was, in reality, just a series of cute cartoony animated signs guests walked past while exiting the ride (as Miracles From Molecules played). Very, very upbeat and jaunty.

‘67 Tomorrowland filled me with optimism that big corporations like Monsanto, GE, Goodyear and Bell Telephone would lead us all into a bright and fun future full of prosperity for all. Hey, I was 9.
