The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Finally got around to calling the AP office to get a partial refund for me and my family's passes (we don't imagine going to the parks until at least next year). Bit sad since I'd been looking forward to going often this summer/traveling to other Disney park before starting grad school, but I suppose that'll wait until next year. 😅

Edit: Unrelated, but I randomly thought about Villain's Grove again and how that was such a gorgeous overlay of RCCT. Would love to see this again.

There is an aerial photo in this week's photo update over at that other site, you know, the one where the mice do a lot of talking. Anyhoo.... It's a picture of the paving work on the hub (matterhorn side, right next to the big compass). There is a garden with blue flowers for water around two big shrub swans.

Has this always been there or is this new???

They've always been there. The blue flowers are a new planting but the swans have been there for a long time.

Not my picture, but a good shot of them.

In the Parks
No
I (occasional tourist here) was just thinking that I haven't been to Disneyland since California Screamin' got tot popped.

Disney should have been selling cake pops decorated as Jack Jack's head along with those cookies.

Chase a baby and Pixar Pier as a whole is the WORST attempt I've ever seen by modern imagineering. It alone should've devalued Disney stock by a big percentage. What a joke DCA has become.. again.

What I think it proves is two things:

1. Most Park goers aren't rabid Disney fans that post on forums like this, and ultimately don't care.
2. Most rabid Disney fans that post on a forum only care on a forum, but ultimately don't care when its comes to the all important thing, their wallet. They still end up going to the Parks and may shake their heads but still end up spending money on Disney.

The rabid Disney fan that votes with their wallet and doesn't end up buying Disney stuff or going to a Disney Park is very minuscule. Even if they brought back Ticket Books where you had to pay for each attraction; I'd venture to guess the recent offerings you hate the most are still high up on list of visited attractions.

Anyways I would guess just over 75% of Park goers fall into category one. The other 25% is varying shades of rabid Disney fans, with less then 1% willing to vote with their wallet and not itch that Disney scratch.

Just my opinion.

It's good to be in the 1%. The rest of you are hypocrites.

Thank you! I guess the blue flowers really made them stand out. :)

Also, I realized that we rarely walk that little pathway (we either go through the castle or through the Tomorroland entrance). I'm going to have to make a point to check these out whenever we get there again.

I’ve been voting with my wallet for past several years. Present day Disney is not the Disney I enjoyed spending money on.

It’s funny how Disney Infinity—the last Disney merchandise line I spent money on—was a microcosm representation of the whole company under Iger:

Year One: This ever-expanding game system will bring all your Disney favorites to life: We’re starting with 100% Pixar and Johnny Depp!

Year Two: Marvel! And More Pixar!

Year Three: Star Wars!

Year Four: Oh— Infinity? It wasn’t making money fast enough, so we killed it.

Margot Robbie to star in a new Pirates of the Caribbean film. I'm here for it.

Oh heck yah. She was one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in About Time. She’s getting too skinny now though.
