Hate to say it, but I think we will get an announcement that there will be a Tomorrowland overhaul with one piece of concept art and not a lot of information. And that concept art will definitely include the Tron coaster. There is room, however it does take up a huge amount of space. I do believe the MiceChat article is false on putting the Tron coaster right smack in the entrance of the land. There is indeed enough room for the show building to fit where the Autopia and Tomorrowland Expo Center attractions currently stand. And with the Fantasyland expansion about to take place in the near future, I am afraid to say the lagoon and the Autopia forest days are probably limited.

I’d be ok with Tron if they could make it fit into TL in a way that doesn’t make it stick out like a sore thumb. The lagoon would be a huge a loss and I think they find a way to keep it in some capacity. I agree the Forrest days are probably numbered but I struggle to imagine anything but trees behind Autopia but that’s just because it’s all I’ve ever known. I think or hope that they consider the surrounding area when the finally do whatever they re going to do with Autopias space. I’m sure it will be a huge net loss in trees but they ll plant new ones. Hopefully, they keep a nice berm back there and it blends well with the Matterhorn. I imagine it won’t be unlike the new ROA. Where we lost all those trees and that sense of being in the wilderness for some new bells and whistles that look nice but more just affirm you re at a theme park rather than being somewhere else or at least just offers a contrast from all the other highly developed areas.

I struggle to see a scenario where the new build (most likely Tron) will blend in with the Matterhorn, Subs/ lagoon, DLRR and Monorail better than Autopia and it’s trees do. Also even if they can fit the show building where Innoventions and the Autopia Q are doesn’t that mean that Tron canopy thing is pretty much butted up against Space Mountajn? The future doesn’t sound visually inspiring. It sounds crowded.

What I think WDI is hoping for in the Fantasyland expansion is to put some of Frozen Land where the Autopia forest is so the Matterhorn can create a nice background landscape for the land. It could also be possible that the canopy and takeoff area for the Tron coaster is where the Innovations building and Autopia queue is now. (If that were to take place, I wouldn't worry about it being butted up against Space Mountain. Remember that we still have Pizza Planet and the Tomorrowland theatre in between the two buildings.) But I also heard a rumor that the Tron coaster may sort of travel through Tomorrowland and provide unique views of the land (kind of what the PeopleMover provided).

The Frozen area would prob work well even if not as good as what is there today.

That canopy thing is huge I think so it does worry me. Pizza Planet and TL theatre aren’t huge wavy rectangles screaming “look at me!”

Miscellaneous on a lazy Sunday afternoon...
My first visit to Disneyland was in 1968 at the age of 6 (we lived in No Cal back then).
I vividly remember 2 now-extinct attractions from that first visit...”Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland” and “Adventure Thru Inner Space”.
I remember lovin’ ‘em both...!!! :)
Does anyone else here remember ridin’ those attractions before they were replaced in ‘77 and ‘85, respectively...?

Yeah but at least the canopy blends in well with the new Tomorrowland theme we have been asking for. I'm sure it won't be in the way of Space Mountain's view. That view is too iconic. I mean they care about preserving the view at WDW's Tomorrowland. I think it is pretty hidden behind the attraction show building. I would think they would try to preserve that iconic view in California. We won't know until (IF) we get the concept art in about 3 weeks.

Replace the subs and Autopia with a junior Matterhorn and Alpine village. That way the lagoon can be kept as well as some of the forest atmosphere. Expand Fantasyland, too.

No and those are probably the Top two that if I could back in time I’d want to experience. After that it would be the original iteration of the all the Fantasyland dark rides. But overall, I would love to experience TL 67 in all its glory

Yep, the whole place was amazing to me, but, Tomorrowland also really stuck out in a good way...I am an earthly and spaceflight junkie...!!! :)
PotC was, of course, another standout attraction back then, and, thankfully, not totally extinct...!!! ;)
Also, experienced HM in a 1970 visit, and will never forget that, in a great way...!!! :)
Didn’t get back to DLR (we moved back to Texas in ‘76) ‘til we took a summer road trip back to No Cal to visit friends. It was in ‘87, the year Star Tours opened, and it was all the rage...good stuff...!!!!!
Last visit to DLR was in June of ‘10, and we had a BLAST...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
That’s almost a decade though, need to fix that...!!!!! :eek:o_O;):)

I think if Tron ends up coming It will be heavily altered as far as the footprint. This s wishful thinking but I would really like if it was a completely different ride system & experience. Doesn't need to have a story and could just simply be visuals similar to the coaster but....not a coaster. I doubt it though.
