Here we go again @Hatbox Ghostbuster

On another note this is great and makes me feel like I don’t need the older hitchhiking ghost POPs that are going for insane amounts of $ on eBay.

I'm so glad I'm don't collect Disney crap.

They key is to focus one or two things...I collect Park based books and park soundtracks. Those are relatively easy and not too expensive to track down and quite honestly, I'm not a crazy completist. If I can get for a reasonable price, I'll buy it otherwise it stays out of my collection.

There are folks that are insane and feel they must collect everything. I can't imagine collecting every funko Pop or Vinylmation product but I've met/know folks that do exactly that...and let's not get started on some of the pin collectors.

Vinylmation...I have maybe 3 of those (1 was a gift). The problem with those is that they're small and so you figure getting more isn't a problem. But no. Stay away.

I keep to just star wars figures myself. Collecting everything else is near impossible. Video game collections per console is next to impossible to get a full set of too.

Ya that’s good advice. I dabble with books. Have about 7 nice hardback Disney books now. I dabbled with the Olszewski light boxes and have 5 of those. A few Jim shore pieces. Quite a few Park specific magnets. Those ‘you are here’ park specific Starbucks mugs. Don’t have the urge to have a full collection of any these as it’s not possible and/ or I have done interest. Except for the Starbucks mugs as they are relatively cheap and are only released 1-2 times a year. The POPs are a new thing for me but as long as they keep on releasing Parks exclusive ones I will most likely be showing up on release day.

Also love those diecast ride vehicles they were selling in the early 2000s and have bought a few of them on eBay

Lol. They re really cranking these out now. At this point I’m expecting a POP for every attraction or at least the signature attractions. Bring on the Alice in Wonderland Caterpillar vehicle POP.
I am a bit surprised there have been so many this year. That's the third already since June. I feel like they took a big chunk of time off between Figment (Oct '17) to Tiki Room (June '18). Maybe they're realizing the money they can make.

Let's imagine they sold out of the 20,000 Splash Mountains. At $40.00 retail price, that's $800,000. On just ONE piece of merch. Heck, even if they sold only half of their stock on release day, that's still close to half a million!

Ya there is a ton of money to be made and they ve caught on. I bought one of the splash POPs for my cousin and went i the post office to ship it to him. The lady that helped me at the post office immediately recognized it and basically told me she wanted it for her son and was 50/50 willing to risk her job and steal mine to give it to him. Lol

Lol I saw this.... you know, I have been buying doubles of all the POPs. I figured one would be to display and one to keep mint. Or one to keep mint and one to sell to cover my cost of the POP but so far I have them all in plastic cases sitting in a closet. Makes you wonder what the point is? Thrill of the hunt?
I keep most of them in box, but there are a few I've taken out. My 2 year old niece wanted to play with one and I sat there cringing inside...but finally let her. She was bored of it in 10 seconds. lol

Lol! Don’t these kids understand, they re not toys! They re collectibles!

I had those diecast ride vehicles displayed in my tv console behind glass but my son became too aware and started asking for me to take them out. As you can guess, they re back in the closet in their boxes now. Those damn things are heavy. If he drops one it’s over. Surprised they sold them at such a low price point at $5.99. They re very detailed. Today we’d get a Plastic, less detailed version for 3x the price.

Exactly! haha. It was one of those moments where I had to just watch her and as soon as I saw her start playing with Mickey's tail I had to swoop in and say "no no, we don't play with that part". Gotta put everything important out of reach.
