The Lunch with an Imagineer Program: A Review

On my last vacation, I had the privelige of doing the Lunch with an Imagineer Program, and it was an experience like no other.

For starters, you are given a tour of the Hollywood Brown Derby and some of the cool details. Then, you are led into a private room, called the Bamboo Room, where you are met by your Imagineer. There are 9-10 others with you. The menu has a good selection, and starts with a Cobb Salad. But while the food is good, the conversation is the meat (no pun intended) of the experience. You can talk, ask questions, and listen to stories.

Also, the people that are there also make your experience. They are all Disney fans and give you some sense of belonging, because there aren't alot of Disney geeks in the world like us.

Drawbacks:

The HSM Parade :fork: :fork: :fork: rolled by twice in our lunch, and it wasn't exactly the happiest thing to hear. You are trying to listen to your Imagineer when then "YOU GOTTA, GETCHA, GETCHA HEAD IN DA GAME
U GOTTA GETCHA GETCHA GETCHA GETCHA HEAD IN THE GAME.

Also, curious park visitors peek into your room, but besides these two minor issues, I would strongly recommend it to everyone.

Oy :hammer:

Sounds very interesting, though. I didn't know about this tour. May have to check it out next time :)

how do you sign up for that?
Call Disney and ask about Lunch with an Imagineer. You could also have Lunch with and Artist too I believe. They don't market on their Website (at least I don't think) so it's kind of an "in the know" type thing.

You can only sign up about 2 to 3 months before your lunch date. (We have to wait for October to make our reservation for Dec.)

Once you sign up, they tell you who you will be meeting, (so you can look online to see what that person did and get questions ready). You also get a few free goodies I guess at the lunch that he/she could sign.

At least that's what I've read...

Edit: If you scroll down, there are other threads about this Lunch. Haven't read them but there is probably some good info there too.

I don't think you get a "few" free things. At least from my experience, you get an autographed item (not telling so there are no spoilers).
