If they ever sell out to Universal...... Bawahahahahahaha

Seriously, I don't go looking for perfection becauswe I know I will never find it. I love Disney with all it's flaws. I honestly don't think there could ever be a last straw for me.

The Last Straw

The last straw isn't so much that WDW stops doing something as much as it will be the cost of going. We get disappointed about losing favorite attractions or parades or long lines etc. but the bottom line will most likely be if the cost to go gets beyond our means. In some ways it already is but we have managed to cut other expenses to enjoy an annual vacation at WDW. If costs get too much higher though we will have to go less frequently or perhaps not at all.

At least I've got my video tapes and YouTube clips of the parks though. I tried creating a virtual trip from our movie clips one year when we could not go for health reasons and enjoyed doing that but it isn't the same. It did bring back fond memories of things now long gone (like Horizons).

not entirely sure there is one for me... I am younger (27) and I can't draw on memories form the 70's when the MK was in that pristine condition everyone always talks about. I still enjoy it, and likely always will because I always find myself paying attention to the small nuances throughout the parks.

It is certainly expensive... but I mean, it's what we enjoy and I certainly skip over or skim and save in other less important areas of my life so I can make WDW happen.

I know what you mean... the cost is getting there. I always stayed off site as a kid, always... my parents would always give us the options (1 week inside the park, or 2 weeks off (home rental plus AP's)) and we always went with the latter. It wasn't until my last trip that my fiance (and her parents) stayed at the beach club. She was the complete opposite, always stayed on and never off... I have definitely been converted to on site resorts.

But if I had to.. I would sacrifice that magic to be able to still enjoy each park and stay offsite. The hotels that are within a mile of the parks are so damn cheap... we stayed at a Baymont Suites for 69 dollars a night and the room was simple, clean and close.

I was thinking the same thing! we went to universal for 1 day on our trip a week ago, and we were not impressed AT ALL with Universal. Not sure as most of my group are roller coaster junkies....we did like the Harry Potter area themes but the shops were HORRENDOUS! too small and way too crowded!

We just had our "last straw" moment at the Magic Kingdom.

In a word....STROLLERS.

Even now in the off season the Magic Kingdom is just unbearable. The situation is completely out of hand and until they do something to limit the size or number of strollers we won't be back to that park.

Animal Kingdom and EPCOT were fine, but MK was a total mess.

We're done.

Come on.. If i had a "last straw" moment it wouldnt be something disney cant control. can you imagine what people would say if they werent aloud to bring a stroller into the park:hammer:. no one wants to carry a kid around the park in 100 degree weather.

If you want one, you can rent one that WDW provides.

Umbrella type only, nothing over a certain size and no outside food or drink allowed in the park.

That alone would cut down on the monster SUV sized "strollers" that ruin the park.

Unless Mickey Mouse himself comes up to me and kicks me square in the junk, I'm still going to go regardless. And I'm going to continue to be the guest who walks in, makes the most of his time there, enjoys time with the family, doesn't look for things to complain about or find things that are wrong, need updating, etc. But I guess I'm one of the few that thinks that way.

For me, the last straw is when the price is way higher for a product that is not worth it. For example I only go to AK when i have a park hopper with me.

I don't know if I have a last straw since we have seen so much change since 1976 and still totally enjoy the experience everytime we go.

I try not to look for negatives and just enjoy myself. It is just a wonderful getaway that takes you to another world for a little while. Yes things change and yes there are things I wish were the same the 1st time I went in 1976. It is my favorite place to visit and I'm not going to deprive myself of that. Everytime I go there is something new I look for or experience - like opening my eyes on Tower or Terror for the 1st time or seeing the wonderful view when I was brave enough and opened my eyes before going down the drop on Splash Mt. and looking out over the park. This Christmas thanks to a picture by Blackthidot (hope I got that right) I took a picture before the drop on Splash Mt. I was excited I got the picture.

What disney fan 13 said. When the cost is more than I feel the product is worth which I feel like is exactly where I am. Disney may (or may not) get my vacation funds but I'm pretty sure if they do it won't be via WDW again for the next few years at least.

We're about there for Orlando. Like everyone says, it's a relative cost thing. For us, part of it isthe very long flight there. Part of it is the cost. But a big part is the change by degrees. Been going since 1977. Yes, there have obviously been additions since then. BUT. Between the price increases AND the lose of services, features and the change in experience outweight new rides and such.

This is the first year we did not go at Christmas. Too many reductions in features in the last 10 years made it unacceptable. We will be making our last trip to the World next week for our 25th anniversary and that will be it.

Now, DL (a 2 hour hop) is a whole 'nother story and we already have ressies for Christmas day arrival this year. . .

100% in agreement with this. I go and enjoy myself and I don't dwell on things I have no control over. I might get nostalgic over things that I wish were still there, but whether I like it or not, things change.

Cost is an issue for me. I don't go nearly as much as I used to because I simply cannot afford it. It takes me longer to save between trips, but I don't see myself ever completely stopping. I gladly give up spending money on things at home if it means putting that money in my Disney trip account.

Put me in the when the cost outweighs the experience, then we dont go camp. For me that threshold is rapidly approaching. Next year could be our last trip for a while. The costs are rising fast and I know some say its not that much but the incremental increases have made it hard. I guess its not a last straw but more of a Disney has priced us out.

My 'Last Straw' will not be missing lightbuls or broken Yetis. Nor costs.

The Last Straw will be creative choices, such as the cartoonification of the MK. The demise of EPCOT, from an inspirational park to a boring celebrity park. The Pixarification of Disney. Or shows with cars! and explosions! and loud noises!

For me, the last straw is when my frustration with the logistical and creative decisions of management reaches some intolerable level. What that level is, I really have no idea. I assume that will be when I think what made WDW special, and dare I say it- magical, is completely gone.

This will obviously never happen, being denied a larger stroller. the only thing i wish they would control is ECVs, i saw two big woman ride up to a resturant, get off and run (obviously having no handicap) into to get a cinnamon roll.. woow

Not sure if there will be one thing that is the final straw. Cost for sure is getting up there for us. While some of the magic is still there, $1,000 a day for overpriced average food, attractions that don't work and unbearable crowds are making it harder to find.

What might do it for me is if they actually start the advance ride reservations. I can't have dinner unless I book it 6 months in advance. Having to book Splash Mountain six months in advance and then having it not work when I get there, just might be it.
