Maybe we all had it wrong and LADDER is the next to be refurbished. It will undergo a new paint job, replacement of some pieces, and making it generally less scary for kids. That would explain why LADDER of the past looks different....maybe.

On a serious note, Will anyone who is afraid of heights be able to ride this ladder? I want to try it but I don't want to freak out or get sick. I know most wooden ladders are rickety and bumby, whereas this ladder appears to be constructed from all metal. I guess it would be a smoother ride than a old thrill park wooden ladder. What's the max height of the drop from the lader's peak? Is the queue detailed? And will there be any AA characters on the ladder?

Wonder how long it'll be before they stick Stitch on it.

That's not the ladder. I remember it being much taller and there was some orange on it. Where's that old Mission: LADDER thread? LOL

I remember the Mission: SPACE Ladder Thread from a couple of yrs ago when I first registered as a regular member on here. That thread, in itself, was hysterical! Rather than everyone focusing and speculating on what Mission: SPACE was going to be like as it was being built, everyone began talking about a picture of a ladder that was accidentally shot by someone taking pictures of the Mission: SPACE structure ( I believe the picture was of what is now the gift shop at Mission: SPACE).

We all tend to lose sight of the obvious and pay attention to the not-so obvious. The ladder.....if anyone is looking for it.....is at your friendly neighborhood Home Depot or Lowes (home improvement stores for those who don't know what they are). ;)

:D

The ladder lives on!

when can we expect "Piece of ladder history pins"???

If Disney never produces "The Magical Ladder" pins, you can always make your own "Disney Ladder" badges!

First, you need to go to this website and order the equipment necessary to make them.

Whoever purchases the "Badge-A-Minit" button/badge kit, put me down for 10 "Ladder Badges" LOL

Disneydood -

I've heard that the new metal ladders with the non-slip rubber footings are the best ones to ride because the ride is smooth and there's no feeling like you're going to fall. On the other hand, with the old wooden ladders, sometimes the rungs snap when the wood is weathered or if you're overweight. So, on the wooden ones -- there is a weight limitation. Usually a theme park (such as Disney) will not be held responsible if you're overweight and go on a wooden ladder. For the safer option and to experience the thrill that is the ladder ride - I say go metal! But, make sure not to stand on the part of the ladder that says "Do Not Step Higher Than This Step!"

Another thing about the metal ladder ride - if a thunderstorm is within 25 miles of the ladder, the ladder will be closed for safety. The only drawback to the metal ladder ride is the constant downtime for maintenance (check for rust, replace rubber footings, etc. )

I think when the Mission: SPACE LADDER EXPERIENCE opened, Fastpass was implemented right away. Disney saw wait times of up to 240 mins. With Fastpass, times went down to 120 mins. LOL

By the way....

You must be this high to ride -------------------------> X

And you must not be pregnant, experience motion sickness, fear of heights, have back problems. This is an extreme thrill ride with banked turns, high inclines, and steep drops.

STAND BACK EVERYONE!!!!

I can finally now own my very own HOLY GRAIL. I have been blessed by the GODS and can now rest knowing that I will have this very fine piece of aluminum as my very own. I have thrown my son and all his posessions out of the house to make room for this beauty. Don't forget the third mortgage I placed on the house.

I hope I can pay $11000 like that person wanted to do for that evil stitch doll.

All I can say is:

ALL BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP THE EVER CHANGING, ALWAYS MYSTERIOUS, SHAPE SHIFTING, COLOR ALTERING LADDER OF THE DISNEY KIND. --Soon to be a Touchstone,Miramax,Lucasfilm,Pixar film coming spring 2005 to an IMAX near you. Directed and Produced by Micheal Eisner and the fine folks at Universal Studios.
