Looks like WDI were a bit inspired by E.T. Adventure with this in-ride vehicle. I dig it. Can't wait.Thee ride vehicle for Battle of the First Order, I especially like the new R2 unit. Hopefully there's a different R2 for each vehicle.
More of this sceneNew Scene : One website they visit is OhMyDisney.com. It's filled with Disney characters, including Marvel and Star Wars. There's even a booth where users (shown as little blockheaded people) can transform into their favorite characters. We see a bunch of people become Marvel characters, including Stan Lee? "So Tsum Tsums are little furry sausages with faces?" Vanellope asks at one point. Every Disney princess ever walks back in a massive crowd! Vanellope wants to go mess with the Princesses, but they've entered a door guarded by (actual Star Wars) Stormtroopers. Vanellope enters using her glitch powers. Vanellope tries to convince them that she's also a princess, but they don't believe her at first. "Were you imprisoned in a castle?" "Where you poisoned?" "Did a sea witch take your voice?" Merida's accent is so strong no one can understand her. "She's from the other studio," says one of the Princesses. C-3PO enters and tells them Princesses they are needed "We'll be right there, R2!" says Ariel. "You know he hates being called that," says Cinderella. "We'll be right there, BB-8". Apparently Moana is included as well, I suspect she may be added to the lineup, even though she protests in her film.
This might be the greatest scene in Disney history. The jokes, the wit, the savagery, it's all there. It could have been so cringe but it ends up being hilarious.More of this scene
"Overhead, Iron Man blasts through the sky, Dumbo flutters into view, and an X-wing fighter darts after a TIE Fighter. Tinker Bell tickles Ralph’s nose until he insults her by calling her “Stinker Smell.”
Aggressive princesses
"Vanellope watches the court of princesses disappear behind a stage door into their dressing room and decides to follow after for a little fangirling. She’s never seen a group of women looking so glamorous.
When Vanellope turns up in their dressing room, the princesses react to the little glitch’s presence by leaping into attack mode: Merida draws her bow, Mulan points a sword, and Cinderalla smashes a glass slipper and holds it out like a broken bottle.
Vanellope disarms them by explaining that she’s a princess, too, from the video game Sugar Rush. The women ask her a series of princess test questions to determine her bona fides. One of them is: “Do people assume all of your problems got solved because a big, strong man showed up?”
While Vanellope lavishes praise on their gowns, the princesses admire her casual street-wear. “I’ll get my mice on that!” Cinderella declares.
Soon, all the princesses are lounging together in shorts, sweats, tank tops, and, as Ariel says, “What’s this called again…? Oh yeah, shirt.”
Before long, a stage manager enters to give them the 5-minute warning for the next performance. It’s C-3PO — everybody’s favorite golden fussbudget.Cinderella, obviously irked, turns on him icily: “Why, thank you R2-D2.”
Cinderella, obviously irked, turns on him icily: “Why, thank you R2-D2.”
Sleeping Beauty shakes her head. “Stop … you know he hates to be called that,” she says, before calling out cheerfully: “We’ll be right there, BB-8!”
C-3PO shuffles out, muttering to himself. “Such insolence. ‘You’re good with princesses,’ they said. ‘You’ll love this job.’ … Oh, how I long for the days of Captain Solo.”
Moana tells Vanellope goodbye, and the little video game glitch goes in for some hugs — only to get an arched back and a rabid hiss from Meeko, Pocahontas’ raccoon.
Off to California!
The following post will cover the live action films, and as an update the animation one has been updated with things from yesterday's presentation.
Live Action
A Wrinkle in Time
Directed by Ava DuVernay
Release Date : March 9th, 2018
Meg Murry's father, played by Chris Pine, discovered the title "wrinkle in time," a tesseract that he vanishes into. Although the scientific community thinks him crazy, Meg sets out to find her father. Pine was unaware of the book going in, but he says that within five minutes of meeting Du Vernay, he knew he wanted to be in the movie. Mindy Kaling is talking about playing Mrs. Who, who speaks entirely in riddles. There's a Jay-Z quote at one point. Oprah had not read the book herself, but enjoyed the request from Du Vernay that she play the wisest character in the universe.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
Directed by Lasse Hallström
Release : November 2, 2018
It stars Misty Copeland, Mackenzie Foy, Morgan Freeman, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Ellie Bamber and Miranda Hart. Dance is going to be a huge element of this one. This one looks to have very detailed set and costume design. The footage certainly has a fantasy element, but looks largely practical. Dancer Charles Riley, aka "Lil Buck" is playing the Mouse King.
Mary Poppins Returns
Directed by Rob Marshall
Release : December 25, 2018
It's some time since the first MARY POPPINS. The children are grown, but the great depression has just hit. Ben Wishaw is an adult Michael Banks, who has inherited the house from the original. He and his sister, Emily Mortimer's Jane and they're having trouble paying their bills, especially with Colin Firth's villainous bank manager. Blunt watched about 15 minutes of the original, but realized she had to stop and make Mary Poppins her own. "No one is going to out-Julie Andrews Julie Andrews". Blunt did study the books closely, though, and says that her Mary Poppins is maybe a bit more odd than Andrews' take. Post-production on MARY POPPINS RETURNS is just beginning with filming having been completed a few weeks ago.
Teaser : It introduces the house and the adult children. Then we see Lightning Jack flying a kite on a cloudy day. The clouds part and he pulls the string in, revealing that it's connected to Mary Poppins, once again flying in from above! There's LOTS of quick shots of dance numbers, including a massive chimney sweep sequence with more than a dozen dancers. It ends with Jane asking Michael, "Those things that happened when we were kids? They didn't really happen, right?" But behind them, we see Mary sliding up the stairwell. They're now taking a "quick look back" with a sizzle reel of Disney's live action takes on animated classics.

Aladdin
Directed by Guy Ritchie
Release : TBA
Aladdin stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Wills Smith as Genie.
Dumbo
Directed by Tim Burton
Release : March 29, 2019
It has just started production in London. The film is to be very colorful, and from what has been seen is faithful to the original. Dumbo is REALLY cute! He looks just like a real baby elephant with giant ears and really blue eyes. Michael Keaton and Danny Devito will be starring.
The Lion King
Directed by Jon Favreau
Release : July 19, 2019
There's a LION KING teaser! It's basically the opening of the original with all the animals heading to Pride Rock. Like JUNGLE BOOK, it looks phenomenal! We see baby Simba and Rafiki rub red goo on his forehead. The shots look straight out of the animated film with "Circle of Life" playing over. It pretty much matches the original animated teaser if I'm not mistaken. Hugh Jackman is Scar.
Star Wars : The Last Jedi
Directed by Rian Johnson
Release : December 15, 2017
Johnson is sharing some photos from set, including one of Rey flying the Falcon with Chewbacca. Ridley and Johnson are talking about filming in Ireland and it sounds like the rest of the cast weren't present for any of those scenes. "Finn's about to have a fight with a formidable opponent," says Boyega, hinting that we'll see Finn vs. Phasma. A behind the scenes photo shows Rose in an Imperial costume. There's a behind the scenes shot of Dern with a gun. Apparently she had trouble not saying "pew!" when she pulled the trigger. Hamill says that there are "a lot of unexpected elements" in THE LAST JEDI. They're showing footage! It's a behind the scenes featurette. Some kind of red explosion, almost like lava. We see a distraught Leia standing against a snowy field. Some new creatures, including a white fox-like creature. Lots of Rey training, apparently in a water tank at one point. We see both Rose and Finn in Imperial outfits. There's some kind of little, chubby frog-like creature with large black eyes. "It's about family," says Carrie Fisher at one point, "And that's what's so powerful about it." The final shot sees Admiral Ackbar holding the shooting slate.
Marvel Cinematic Universe
There's a new logo. It's going to be "MARVEL STUD10S: The First Ten Years" for 2018. There's going to be a ten-year celebration next week of everything Marvel.
The Avengers : Infinity War
Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo
Release : May 4, 2018
Feige promises "every single hero" who has ever been in a Marvel film. Yesterday marked the halfway mark for shooting INFINITY WAR. At this point basically all the actors of the heroes walked on stage. Anthony Russo is filming INFINITY WAR now. New footage! The Guardians are arriving somewhere on the Milano. Star-Lord says that they need to be careful and that everyone should wear their mean faces. A body slams against the front of the milano. It's Thor! Mantis wakes him up. "Who the hell are you guys?" he asks. Loki is presenting Thanos the tesseract! Spider-Man is on a school bus. "Death follows him like a shadow" says someone of Thanos. We see the Collector's lair destroyed. Gamora is in it, crying. "Fun isn't something you consider when trying to balance the universe," he says, "But this does put a smile on my face!". LOTS of Avengers fighting! The Hulkbuster is back! Spider-Man in his Avengers costume! A giant battle with Thanos on an utterly decimated landscape. He's able to reach out his arm and call down flaming comets from the heavens. Dr. Strange is on the battlefield. Iron Man is with Mantis. It looks massive!
Similar to the what i did for animation as new footage/images come out from D23, I'll edit it in.
Here's some things to start your excitement for the Parks panel late today :
Star Wars Streetmosphere Character, Jake the Droid -
Pirates of the Caribbean 50th Anniversary Panel -
Mousequerade, loved the Big Thunder Cosplay as well as Te Ka.
Apparently Chapek said it's blue sky, but amazing nonetheless.
This looks incredible.
The lights at the bottom right hand corner looks eerily similar to the Batsignal.
This looks incredible.
It truly looks like a new park. I am in a way heartbroken you could say about EPCOT losing its message, but to me, it already has. I suppose if it is changing, I would hope that they at least give it a new Mission Statement, and not just make it based off of Chris Pratt going there as a kid.

The outer space restaurant looks so good -- that's the kind of stuff that gives me hope that they know what they are doing with this Future World refurb. It's funny one of the options we were considering for the Great Movie Ride comp was an outer space restaurant with Space Mountain, then less than a week later they announce one with Mission: Space! It truly looks like a new park. If the overhaul looks this good I will forgive any IPs they shoehorn in like Gotg.
You may be onto something. There's obviously no way it would fit with the current mission statement, but if they do it right and don't cheapen out it could be really something with a new theme. It seems that Imagination will change too and The Land will get some minor updates. They are heading in the right direction. I'm pretty optimistic, but it truly is bittersweet. The outer space restaurant looks so good -- that's the kind of stuff that gives me hope that they know what they are doing with this Future World refurb. Who knows in this new Future World, Guardians may fit in fine. With the old version it wouldn't at all, but I'm very curious to see if any or all of this comes to fruition because on Living with the Land there were WDI people doing rounds of inspection when we rode. Rides like that I feel like wouldn't jive with the rest of this new Future World so....it'll be interesting haha
