Great Movie Ride Scene Revision:
One of the most outstanding attractions in DHS is about to meet one of the most outstanding films ever released. Star Wars. Replacing the Alien scene is a remake of the scene from Episode IV: A New Hope. The update will bring forward a familiar technology not used before in The Great Movie Ride.
A Star Wars segment serves as a light segue between the western scene and Raiders of the Lost Ark, considering it combines elements of a Space Western and a thrilling serial that anyone can enjoy. This segment can also help promote the updated Star Tours nearby.

Description:
After passing through the western scene you enter the corridors of Vader's ship where Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, C-3PO, Hans Solo, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 are trying to escape. As you enter you are immediately facing a massive window looking out into space (much like the current Alien scene works now) that is showing a massive space battle around the Death Star. You pass through some more corridors of the ship until you pass Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi's fateful battle. This is placed right on the spot where the Ripley AA is currently. The battle involves the Pepper's Ghost effect mixed with projections. Above the guest's heads is a battle between AA Stormtroopers and Luke and Leia. The finale of the scene ends off with a brief encounter with an animatronic Darth Vader who says some departing lines to you. (the host exchanges some witty lines.)

Effects:
-smoke, steam, and strobe lights.
-AA's
-massive screen used for space scenes
-Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader's battle done with Pepper's Ghost and projections.
-animatronic droids
-Laser effect for gunfire

I was down to 2 different ideas, Star Wars in place of Alien being one of them... glad I didn't go that route because Jason's would have blown mine out of the water. Nicely done.

I have a question; will have to be physically able to fit in the area of the ride? or is nothing no object? Say like, GMR is in rooms, or the same with LwtL.

Thanks, And great ideas so far!

and i like yours, jason! I know alot of people ahve wanted starwars in the GMR, but you covered it well. :)

It would have to fit in the room. But it doesnt have to be EXACT foot by foot dimensions. BUT if you say put a GIANT cruiseship in one of the rooms it wouldnt fit...

Just hvae to be realistic, but not EXACT..

I hope that answers your question. :)

I have chosen the Great Movie Ride for my new scene. Replacing Tarzan will be Pirates of the Caribbean.

As you leave the world of Indiana Jones, you are transported into the middle of a battle between Captain Jack Sparrow's crew and the British army. Here, you hear sounds of gunshots, cannons, slashing swords, and screams.

This probably will be the most technologically advanced scene in the attraction.*

When your guide gets accidentally hit by a gunshot (fake), a pirate hijacks your vehicle, thinking it is a ship, and rides away into the world of Casablanca.

When you enter this scene, the pirate says, "Aw, ain't that nice!," in a sarcastic tone.

During The Wizard of Oz, the pirate sees a second pair of the Ruby Slippers, thinking it is treasure, and joyfully yells, "I've found the treausre! I've found the treausre! Yaargh!" Then, the Wicked Witch of the West zaps the pirate into a skeleton. Cueing the tour guide to get back onto your vehicle and continue the ride.

*Effects
- HD, LED lights representing cannon blows
- water jets from the pirate ships rocking
- surround-sound speakers making explosion noises
- animatronic birds
- animatronic pirates/soldiers
- live pirates/soldiers
- realistic, fake weapons
- fire
- wind (The scene is set on a breezy day.)
- smellitizer (for cannon/gun smoke)

What do you think?
:D

Ride: The Great Movie Ride

Scene Revision: Removal of Alien, replaced with Alice in Wonderland. I'd prefer to get rid of Tarzan, but I don't think it gives me enough space.

Description: After passing through the Western Scene, the cars stop in a dark hallway. Suddenly scenes from the original, animated version, of Alice in Wonderland play on the walls to the sides and the front of the ride vehicle. We see Alice follow the White Rabbit. Everything goes black again and we hear the Cheshire Cat’s voice asking us if we’re going to follow her. The Cat will quickly move from screen to screen, even showing up on the ceiling. The Gangster/Cowboy says “why not” and we see an image of the rabbit hole in front of us and feel a gust of wind as we beginning 'falling'. The door rises and we’re off.

We’re quickly at a tea party, complete with an AA of Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter. He explains that Red Queen has taken over. As we move on there will be a screen slightly above the cars on which the Cat will be projected before being quickly removed. He leads us towards a maze. As the car approaches the hedges move out of the way of the car.

The next full scene is the White Queen and her castle, talking to Alice, which then leads us to to an AA Red Queen on her throne. After some yelling, including an “Off with her head”… we keep moving to the final scene.

In the final scene Alice is taking on the Jabberwock. Alice will be an AA dressed to fight, but due the size of the Jabberwock, we’ll only seeing it flying in towards Alice, at which point the guide will suggest we get back to reality.

Other Thoughts: While the majority of this scene revolves around a brand new movie and not a ‘classic’. I feel the original is a classic, which is shown in the beginning. It will also give Disney a great marketing tool with the upcoming release of the new movie. The use of state of the art AA’s, vivid HD video and early throwback to one of the best Disney animated films will help everyone enjoy this new scene.

lol, i'm now glad I aksed about that; but yes, it did :).

I had thought about a GMR addition, someplace I've always wanted to update, but it has limited space in it.

however, so many people are doing GMR (i mean, come on, who hasn't wanted to update it?), i may do another one for variety.

thanks again though!! :)

What's funny, i believe GMR'ss one of the things that will be updated eventually (i was hinted to by someone, but they wouldnt tell; and with mgm pulled out, i'd expected it)

I dont know what you mean.. do you mean like copying but just paraphrasing?? THen NO!

But if you say have an idea for Making a Harry Potter themed room in the GMR (PLEASE DONT DO THIS :) ) ANd someone else already do it AND you cant think of anything else then yes you can use the same idea, BUT it will have to be different...

NOTE TO ALL: I reccomend NOT posting you projects THIS far inadvance. Just a precautionary tool AND that way we all can be "surprsied" and IF you do have the same idea as someone else that perosn who posts later wont feel "paranoid" that it might seem they are copyign EVEN if they arent..

PS I was not thinking everyone would do GMR.. I hope we have SOME variety.

For this project, I would like to replace a scene in Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom.

The scene would begin just as you exit the cavern at around four and a half minutes into the ride.

Monkeys would be seen and heard chittering just outside the cave, and one Audio Animatronic monkey would descend as if ready to drop into your raft.
A little startling, since you don't know it's coming!

Replacing the wall with the water spitting statues, would be a new scene.

Colorful AA birds would be seen near a blackened stump, with an abandoned and rusty chainsaw nearby. On the bank, two young AA figures are planting a new tree, while a third child giggles from the back of a white elephant that squirts water from his trunk.

I believe the scene would show the triumph of the human spirit, and what can be accomplished when people stand up for their beliefs, and protect the earth.

A scene of replanting trees lost to illegal clear cutting would give this ride a Happy Ending!
and the inclusion of AA animals would enhance the experience, and present that, with a little help, we can save species that are dying from the destruction of forests and jungles.

I chose this scene, because it's close to the end of the ride, and because really...the riders already get wet enough without four jets of water spraying them!
One jet randomly sprayed from the little AA elephant would be enough.

I think this would complete the story already told along the ride, about the destruction of the logging, and give it a human and animal element that it currently doesn't have.

Here is a very quick sketch on what it might look like!

You guys obviously know what your doing, but just a thought: maybe set a date/time that we can begin posting submissions?

I know I didn't help the variety, but I'm looking forward to a Living With the Land submission as I blanked on that one.

Alright, we've got eight projects in. The rest of you, you have a little over 24 hours, so don't forget to post your entry.

Nice work so far, this looks to be bringing better projects overall. It'll be harder to choose teams, so thanks for that little bit of stress, you creative geniuses. :)
