The "I don't have a clever name for my trip report" trip report!

Hi everyone!!
First I have to apologize for my late posting; I wanted to get this bad boy up and running a long time ago but with the school year starting up things have just been bananas. I think we took almost 3,000 pictures on this quick trip, I obviously won’t be posting them all. I am by no means a professional photographer but I think I get some pretty crafty shots every now and then. Anyway, this is our first of two birthday trips this year so …away we go!

Here is a re-cap:

The Who:

Day 1
August 9, 2012

Ryan worked until 11am as soon as he pulled up our town car arrived to whisk us away to our happy place! We arrived at the airport around 11:40, printed our boarding passes, checked our bag and headed towards the gate. I should mention a very important guest we had on our trip. For well over a year we had been trying to find a Pasquale without any luck until about two weeks before our trip; we drove up to Hershey, PA and found him at the Disney outlet there! As you will see, he is now a world traveler.

Here he is, all ready to go!

Picture212.jpg

After a quick 2 hour flight I nearly bolted off the plane and headed down to DME and at 5:00 I seen this beautiful sight!

Pulling into All-Star Music

Picture214.jpg

We had done on-line check in, 10 days prior, it is such a tease! Our room was all ready and we picked up our folder and headed over to the Jazz Inn

Picture218.jpg

We weren’t sure which park to head to so we checked all the wait times and decided to head over to Epcot first. Before we could go in there was one very important stop we had to make to pick up these bad boys!

Picture227.jpg

I was so excited I wanted to cry!! We also scooped up a TIW card for the first time!

Picture228.jpg

We have been going to WDW twice a year for the past three years and decided it was worth the investment and it saved us a good chunk of change. With TIW we basically did not have to pay for tax and tip on any food.

We rode Figment, SSE and the 3 caballeros’ before the hunger bug hit so we headed to Sunshine Seasons to grab some dinner

Picture247.jpg

I had the veggie flatbread which was delish

Picture245.jpg

I can’t remember what Ry had because he housed it down…boys! But we did share the most yummy cupcake after

Day 1
August 9, 2012 cont..

After our bellies were full we came out of Sunshine Seasons and it was POURING! We hoped the monorail to MK grabbed some ponchos and prayed we would be able to see Wishes. Due to the rain the parade was cancelled but we parked it on Main Street anyway.

Picture250.jpg

The rain had stopped but there was thunder and lightning, still, The Magic, The Memories, and You started right on time.

Picture255.jpg

I LOVED the new summer additions to the show

Picture258.jpg

Picture263.jpg

Unfortunately, because of the weather Wishes was cancelled, womp womp. We called it a night pretty early and headed back, after all, we were celebrating Ryan’s birthday (3 days late) the next day!

Day 2
August 10, 2012

Every year I always try to plan some type of surprise and me and my big mouth end up blowing it. Since I had already blown the first surprise I booked I had to plan another one LOL. We were up bright and early, Ryan had no idea where we were even going but we arrived at the Poly in time for our 8:45 am 'Ohana breakfast.

Here I am as we waited for our table

Picture271.jpg

We were finally seated and our server first brought us over a fresh plate of fruit followed by this giant plate of yumminess

Picture279.jpg

Ryan and I couldn't even finish this one plate, I think our server thought there was something wrong with us; we really just eat like birds. As we were eating Mickey and Pluto stopped by to say hello!

Picture275.jpg

Picture282.jpg

Lilo never made it around to our table, but we were alright with that. We finished up and the birthday boy decided he wanted to head on over to MK; so we did just that.

Ryan developed a new found love for Casey on this trip

Picture284.jpg

Picture288.jpg

Picture292.jpg

We only rode a few things before deciding to call it a morning, it was just sooo hot and Ryan was clearly hallucinating

Picture296.jpg

We headed back to the resort and decided to spend some time at the Calypso Pool

Picture302.jpg

We caught some sun, had a pina colada, and spent the afternoon just relaxing before getting ready for a Hoop-Dee-Doo of a night!

I must apologize to everyone for my absence. Being my spazzy self I somehow pulled a muscle in my lower back and I spent the last week out of work and in bed watching way too much Maury! I promise I will have more coming and very soon!

Thanks all for the love!

Yesss we pulled out another quick trip for Ryan's birthday since we had already booked for mine in November! I wanted to cry when I got my AP, we bought TiW and it saved us on paying tax and tip, which was good! I know you will be there in November at sometime when we are, when is your trip again? We are also thinking about driving down in March/April also LOL

Day 2
August 10, 2012 cont..

So after spending sometime at the pool we headed back to get ourselves ready. My initial birthday surprise was to do the HoopDeeDoo but my big mouth let the cat out of the bag because I was so excited. I had ready so many great things about the show and I went back and forth wondering if it was going to be cheesy and if either of us would really enjoy it.

We had tickets for the first show so we took the bus to MK where we hoped the ferry. Now, on the dock there were signs telling you go this way for HoopDeeDoo so we loaded onto that boat not realizing what was about to happen. We got on this boat a little after 4:00 and at 5:00 we were out in the middle of the water waiting for other boats to leave the dock. Now the panic started to set in because the tickets state your reservation will be cancelled if you are more than 15 minutes late. The boat ended up stopping at both Ft. Wilderness docks, I was in full blow panic attack mode, by the time we made it to Pioneer Hall at 5:25 they had told us all we missed was the line, the good news was that we had our seats upgraded!

As soon as we were seated the show started and the waitress brought us our salad and cornbread, which was warm and delicious, they also serve your drinks in little mason jars!

Picture316.jpg

Picture309.jpg

The cast was great!

Picture311.jpg

They came out into the crowd to interact with the audience and do some of their numbers. I was worried about how cheesy this may be at first but the show itself is hilarious and filled with a lot of adult humor that was still family friendly!

Every time our waitress came she would slam down the buckets !

Dinner was fried chicken and ribs

Picture313.jpg

Picture315.jpg

Dessert was strawberry short cake

Picture319.jpg

And just as this was put down I felt a tap tap tap on my shoulder only to turn and find one of the male cast members...I was so not ready for what happened next!

Day 2
August 10, 2012 cont.

As Johnny took me by the hand and led me through Pioneer Hall he promised I would be OK, the next thing I knew I was on the stage with 3 other guys they pulled for the audience. Everyone was told I was there for my beauty (LOL) and than we were all whisked back-stage. As they were explaining to the guys what they were going to be doing I was wondering what was in store for me. I got my directions, was all dressed up and there was my cue...it was showtime!

Picture323.jpg

Time to can-can

Picture325.jpg

Picture326.jpg

Picture337.jpg

I laughed the entire time, it was beyond fun! When we were originally sat down and the cast came out I seen the costumes and I said to Ryan that I wanted one of those big ruffly dresses...well, me and my big mouth got exactly what she asked for and I LOVED every second of playing in that dress!

When I got back to the table Ryan was playing the washboard

Picture340.jpg

We finished up and headed out; The Hoop-Dee-Doo is definitely a MUST DO, we had an absolute ball and of coarse Ryan got a huge kick of me being pulled up on stage and made a spectical of. We laughed and smiled talking about it all the way to the dock where we finally remembered we had a visitor with us!

Picture341.jpg

Pascal made the trek to Fort Wilderness too, just chilling on the dock

Picture342.jpg

And on the boat back towards MK

We took the bus to Hollywood Studios, Ryan wanted to end his birthday with his favorite nighttime show, Fantasmic!, but not before Pascal checked himself in

Picture356.jpg

The show was great, but as we all know, it was packed. I consider myself a professional walker so weaving in and out of people and finding crazy paths are my secret to getting us out of there before everyone else LOL. It had been a long and exciting day and we were POOPED, it was off to bed, after all, we had another fun filled day ahead of us tomorrow!
