Room of Requirement Mini Challenge- For Gryffindor

I would add a choose your own adventure ride to Hollywood Studios themed to Mickey and the gang that leads you through the studios most iconic animated movies. It will be called "Where's Goofy?" Similar to the Great Movie ride, it will allow guests to explore the classics with a fun twist that adds more re-ride ability. As your ride vehicle gets to certain parts of the ride, you will be presented with three options to choose for your next scene. Perhaps in one spot you can choose between Little Mermaid, Robin Hood, Bambi, and Lion King. By selecting a button/scene, your vehicle will enter that door only and show you a scene complete with cutting edge AA's. Guests will love riding again and again to explore the many classic scenes. After all: how do you choose between Dumbo and 101 Dalmatians? This will allow lesser represented films to have more of a presence in the parks too. WDI can always change the room options later too so they can add in more recent hits like Moana. Why is this needed at Hollywood Studios? It's a family-friendly dark ride that focuses on Disney animated hits that will be a huge people eater and guests will want to ride it again and again unlike some of the stage shows that get stale after a while.

Plot: Mickey and the gang must find Goofy who has gone missing. They believe he has stumbled into the Disney vault where movies get stored forever.

Resistance X-Wing Spinner

The-Resistance-Star-Wars-7-Force-Awakens-X-Wing.jpg

With the news of Star Wars Land happening in the near future, discussion on what types of rides will be added is a major topic. Since the land looks to be something that refers to the new trilogy of films, the theme of the new flat ride added will be themed to the Resistance. In this attraction, taking technology from the new Tomorrowland Shanghai Disneyland spinner attraction, you'll be able to pilot your own X-wing. The X-wing will have a cockpit in the front where you can control the motion of the vehicle.

star-wars-land-concept-art-1.jpg

The attraction will be located on the right side of the land. It's placement there is because it's a flat ride, and not the main attraction, it won't bottle up traffic like the Astro Orbitor in Disneyland. That attraction is right at the front of the land and narrows the paths. This will be in its own location as you travel to the Resistance base. This will be where the new Jedi Training Academy will be and this attraction will act as the pilot training bay. Led by Poe Dameron and the rest of the Resistance fighters, you'll be escorted through the Resistance base and to your X-Wings. Before taking off you will have a pre-show where the controls are explained to you. The controls go up, down, left, right, and tilt as well. You then head to the loading area.

During the attraction, the X-Wings will rise off the ground and you will be able to move around on the controls. About halfway through the attraction, you get an alert that Tie-Fighters from the First Order are approaching. Your X-wings rise above a little higher and on a screen in front of you in the X-wing, you try and hit the targets as the Tie-Fighters start firing at you.
latest

Once you have defeated the First Order your X-Wings descend to the ground again. As you leave the X-Wings, you are thanked for completing your training by the Resistance and head towards the exit. At the exit there is a post-show where you get to see the on-ride photo of you in the X-Wing.

The X-Wing attraction will be a small addition to the larger land, but give kids a Dumbo-style Star Wars spinner.

Larissa and Sicily Area Descriptions
20160626_045339_zpsqlqqkffy.jpg

Divided into two distinct areas connected by bridges and a central marketplace, Larissa (representing Greece) and Sicily (representing Italy) these two areas have unique architectural tones that offer a variety of options for guests who prefer different styles. The Larissa side consists of seven buildings, each standing 3-4 stories in the air, reminiscent of towns you'd see on the Greece seashores. The Sicily area is designed into a rock formation that is modeled after Italian seaside towns that build into the coastline. The Sicily side stands 10 stories in the air and has varying floor plans based on what floor you are on to accompany the aesthetic design. There is land allocated for a future DVC Resort themed to the Sicilian Village by the coast.

Larissa (Greece) Lobby
20160626_164502_zpszimkcdad.jpg

The Larissa Lobby area accents the seaside flair of the resort as a whole. With sand colored walls, light blue furniture and a southern European design to the amenities and images, you as the guest are transported to the eastern side of the Ionian Sea for a seaside paradise. With Check-In on your left, and the concierge desk right next to it, you can check-in quickly and head to your rooms. Complimentary golf carts are available if your building is farther away and you are in need of any assistance. There is also a children's tv area close by the front desk so children can be entertained for the brief while. The decorations of the lobby are filled with Greek influence of Athenian portraits and some Greek historical figures. There are also two fountains in the middle of the walking area in the lobby offering an aquatic accent in the lobby as well.

Sicily (Italy) Lobby
20160622_063539_zps4zhcsfzc.jpg

While the Larissa area of the resort is more brightly colored, sandy, and reminiscent of the European seashore, the Sicily side, while still maintaining a seaside environment, is decorated in a more regal fashion, with mahogany colors and deeper browns on the interior. Plants and foliage around the main seating area offer a different aesthetic than the fountains of the Larissa side of the resort. The main check in desk is a mirror image of the Larissa side, as well as the children's play area. For specific requests, guests should contact the staff of their specific resort area. While Disney's Ionian Resort is one umbrella of a destination, the specific areas offer more expedited and specific services to their guests.

Resort Rooms

Sicily Standard Room

20160626_173135_zpss0enk1eb.jpg

The lobby influences are apparent as you travel up to the 1 of 10 floors in the Sicilian area and traverse to your room, which is furnished with dark furniture, red carpets and shades, as well as pictures from Italy hanging on the walls. Due to the proximity to Epcot and the height of some of the rooms, a scenic view of Epcot can be seen from most of the rooms, offering great fireworks in-room viewing locations on the Epcot side, and the Star Wars Fireworks on the Hollywood Studios side.

Hufflepuff Submissions For:

1. Re-design a Disney coaster as a dark ride or re-design a Disney dark ride as a coaster
The couple of times I've been to Disneyland, I have only ridden Pinocchio's Daring Journey once (and once was enough). That ride scared the bejesus out of me, and figured that if this ride was creepy as a dark ride, imagine how fun it would be as a roller coaster. The queue would start out in Gepetto's workshop where guests find out Pinocchio is telling his father all about his journey. Guests board their cars and take off at a leisurely pace through a tunnel where Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee can be heard playing with Honest John voice assuring us that we will love show business. Suddenly the coaster drops and we see Stromboli (grinning evilly) reaching for us. Quickly twisting away, we find ourselves passing the coachman and into Pleasure Island.
pinocchios-daring-journey-00.jpg

Twisting and turning through the candy coated land, it seems like the perfect playground, but as we ascend the big hill, we hear the crying voices of the donkeys. We rush over the top of the hill, only to find although we escaped Pleasure Island, we land right into the mouth of Monstro!
7215d4ff6cfdaecb27406ab32cccabe5.jpg

We rocket through this beast until we are engulfed in the light of the Blue Fairy where we slowly make our way to Gepetto's workshop where we see Gepetto hugging Pinocchio.

2. Re-design the aesthetics of Innoventions, walkways, exteriors, etc
Before it closed Innoventions always struck me as very claustrophobic. The interior was always so dark and there was hardly any room to move. First lets lighten up the room with white or light silver walls. Different color lights would fade from light purples, blues, to pink to give it a little pop, but not to distract. Secondly, I would open the space up; let kids be able to move freely and for adults to easily pass between displays.
91805524.jpg

The outside would become more rounded, not only on the sides but on the top as well. Disney is all about details that not all guests will see. I want to implement that line of thought to the roof. Just because not everyone will notice, does not mean we shouldn't make this aesthetically pleasing.
91809635.jpg

3. Design a new restaurant anywhere in WDW
Situated near Colortopia is Color Cafe, a place where every meal is a festival of color and light. Guest can either enter through Colortopia or come through the outside entrance. Can't find the entrance, just follow the sidewalk.
maxresdefault.jpg

Although I think the entrance would be very obvious.
GLHN_2013-01-04_wBarry_01.jpg

If your table is not ready, please take a moment to relax at the bar and take a seat on one of the cube chairs.

outdoor-event-led-cubes-with-color-changing-light.jpg

Once your table is ready, guest will be seated at table lined with thermal color changing table cloths to enjoy an array of meals themed around the color spectrum. An ice cream desert bar would filled with an array of colors that would not necessarily indicate what the flavor is (That neon pink ice cream isn't strawberry, but orange creamsicle.) Kids will get a kick out of the thermal ice cream spoons. Overall, Color Cafe would make a wonderful accent to Colortopia.

4. Give a temporary Star Wars overlay to a classic Disney attraction

The Carousel of Progress has long been a favorite of many guests, but it is notably outdated. With a Star Wars overlay, this attraction would no longer have that problem.

Scene One would have the father still sitting in his chair (on Tatooine which can be seen outside of the window) talking with his wife about the possibility of the upcoming war (with the trade federation). The young son states his desire to become a Jedi much to his father's amusement and his mother's bemusement. The son is playing with a homemade "lightsaber".

Scene Two would focus on the the Clone War and how Mother will be glad when it's all done. Father explains that the Jedi and clones are doing everything possible. The son jumps in saying, that if he were a Jedi he would have the whole war won by now.

Scene Three, the war is over, but Father is still amazed that the Jedi would turn against the Republic. We can hear the son's disbelief (his lightsaber can be seen stored away behind some droid parts), but Mother quickly steps in commenting that at least there will be peace now.

Scene Four and the tone has dramatically changed. The Father is irritated with the Emperor and the stranglehold he has on all their lives. Mother quickly hushes him fearing the emperor's spies might overhear. The son, now a teenager vows to join the resistance.

Scene Five has the Father and Mother alone in the house; their son gone to join the Resistance. Mother is obviously upset, but Father assures her that this will all pass; the Emperor will fall out of power and the their lives will return to how it once was.

Scene Six is filled with joyous sounds and fireworks. Father exclaims over the fall of the Emperor. Mother is hugging her son (still in his Resistance gear) telling her how the Jedi have come back to restore balance to the galaxy.

5. With the recent success of The Jungle Book, include the film somehow in the parks

Although Finding Nemo - The Musical has been a major success over at Animal Kingdom, the Theater in the Wild is going to get a new show based off the newest version of The Jungle Book. This show will rely heavily on the costume and set design of the Lion King Musical on Broadway.
7-The-Lion-King-London.jpg

But this musical will also feature the acrobatic talents of Cirque du Soleil shows, especially the forest scene from Ka.
CDS_snake.png

The huge snake will have guests gasping like they did when the Nigel puppet appeared on stage. Hopefully, with these mix of elements, this retelling of the Jungle Book will thrill audiences.

6. Add a new attraction to Main Street U.S.A. in WDW

I think it's a shame more people don't know who the Main Street Citizens are. Well the new humor filled show hosted in the Town Square Theater should help with that. Several times during the morning, guests will be entertained through a short show highlighting what each citizen is famous for. Mayor Weaver will happily greet the guests and invite everyone to take a "tour" of Main Street. Scoop Sanderson immediately stops the mayor hoping for some news, but he himself is interrupted by Hildegard Olivia Harding demanding that Weaver take a stance on Women's Rights. A friendly argument ensues involving the other citizens and their opinions. By the time the show is done, guests should have a real feel for the characters they will encounter on Main Street USA.

7. Room of Requirement Challenge

Epcot definitely needs a new thrill ride, particularity in Future World and Big Hero 6 would fit in perfectly. Now I know there was a spinner type ride featuring Baymax, but come on. Have you seen those flight and fight scenes? they are begging to be used. With that in mind, I propose a new roller coaster called Big Hero 6: Flight and Fight. Guests will shoot up into a tunnel right into an inversion. They will pass through sky scrappers will reflect the riders whizzing past. Hiro and Baymax will also fly by and wave. Giant balloons (from the movie) will cause us to swing left and right into another inversion, barely passing over one of the balloons. As we descend, we'll pass under the San Fransokyo Bridge and come face to face with:
big-hero-6-screenshot-charles-adler-yokai.jpg

The guests shoot past him barely the mirco bots as they jab at us. Never fear though, Hiro and his team are here to fight him off. Just be careful though, Hiro's team is still learning and some of Fred's fire, Go-Go's discs, and Honey Lemon's powerballs come a little too close for comfort.
latest

8. Add a new show to replace the Circle of Life in the Land Pavilion

Colors of the World (inspired by Pocahontas) will replace the show currently in the Land Pavilion. Guests enter the room and immediately notice that enormous AA of Grandmother Willow taking up one wall of the room. Her branches and leaves cover the ceiling and dropping down just out of guests' reach.
from-merlin-to-the-genie-my-top-10-disney-movie-mentors-all-around-you-are-spirits-chi-641550.jpg

There will be no chairs, standing room only. The other three walls will be giant screens that will make guests feel like they are in the middle of the action. After an announcement by the cast member, guest will put on their 3D glasses. Grandmother Willow will spring to life and talk with guests about the earth and what we can do to help in our own ways. The screens will show the beauty of the world we live in, but also the damage we are doing. This will have some elements from the Song of the Rainforest over at Animal Kingdom including a portion where the room will go dark to listen to wildlife. The finale will have guests in the middle of a whirlwind of colors much like below.

Hufflepuff's @IDInstitute presents:
Star Wars Overlay Mini-challenge!

Star Wars, oh, Star Wars...Disney cannot get enough out of putting this IP to use in the parks! :p When it comes to SW overlays to help promote the brand, my concept calls for temporarily replacing The Peoplemover. In the "Star Wars Galaxy Transit Authority", guests will get to travel throughout Tomorrowland, visiting what are set up as different planets through SW-esque rethemed vehicles (similar to those shown in the beginning of the fifth movie inside the rebellion ship (?? :p)), all coming from the overplayed launch bay loading area. This plan would be a great way to add some spice to a currently not-so-popular attraction, as well as find a way to promote SW in the Magic Kingdom!

New show at Circle of Life theater Mini-challenge!

"The Circle of Life- An Environmental Fable" is an underwhelming show to say the least. In these types of attractions, the goal should be the core concept of Edutainment, combining learning with fun. However, this show is strictly educational, and doesn't really perfect the art of integrating characters into the parks. However, with Epcot's new and upcoming push to further include characters, a "new" show will be coming to a newly themed CoL theater- It's Tough to be a Bug! This 4D show will be making room in DAK, moving to Epcot with a brand new film. This show is perfect for this area as it's theme is a spot on fit for the message of the land pavilion, and is edutainment using characters at its finest!

Year 7 - Battle of Hogwarts @tcool123 vs @JokersWild
For Ravenclaw!

For our duel, the lovely @MonorailRed presented us with creating a new E- Ticket based on a novel. How ever this being the final year, I decided to go above and beyond any one person has done so far for a mini challenge. Not only did I expand my E - Ticket into a full fledged Epcot pavilion, but I made sure presentation was perfect. I learnt from the mistakes from others, and changed my project accordingly to match the judges tastes. All you've got to do to experience the land, is click the link.

The Spain Pavilion

Timeline -
2021 : Demolition begins on the Millennium Pavilion
2022 : On Epcot's 40th Anniversary, The Spain Pavilion is announced
2023 : The Spain Pavilion is shown off at D23
2024 : The grand opening of the Spain Pavilion

Your move, @JokersWild

New Restaurant Mini-challenge!

The Walt Disney World resort is not only known for their world-class attractions, but also some of the best places to eat. Because of this, the high standard will not be ignored in Epcot's next newest restaurant- Wonder Bites Terrace! Wonder Bites Terrace will be located in the Imagination pavilion, and it will take up space currently occupied by the Magic Eye theater. There will be an indoor section, as well as a gorgeous outdoor seating area on a terrace overlooking the upside fountain, the adjacent pond/lake, and the rest of future world. With shining rainbow-glass tables, illuminated and special effect walls/ceilings, and an audio animatronic Figment and Dreamfinder roaming the inside portion of the restaurant on the Dreamcatcher, this is one of the most unique and fun dining experiences in the park!

Battle of the Seven Potters - For Hufflepuff

1. The Rescurers
Leaving the heavily wooded area that surrounds Tom Sawyer Island, guests will find Madame Medusa's wrecked steamboat.
956ba9eb97a62a46a83d12c5406ecc4b.jpg

Not only can you take a self guided tour of the old steamer, but they can also venture into the cave to find their own "Devil's Eye".
There are also two rides in this area, Penny's Escape and Evinrude's Boat Tour.
Penny's Escape is a trackless dark ride where guests board vehicles (pictured below) and try to escape the swamp.
Evinrude_The-Rescuers-1.jpg

Evinrude's Boat Tour is a slow moving boat ride around the island.
Evinrude_The-Rescuers-8.jpg

2. Family Challenge Trails
Direct from Disney's California Adventure, this fun and physical series of challenges is perfect for the active family.
b813d077576769de5243bca3d2258d72.jpg

Receive a map from a local ranger, and follow the directions to complete each challenge (none should be too difficult so the whole family can enjoy). There is climbing, cave exploring, tracking, low level zip lining, and storytelling.
red_tower.jpg

For each task completed, each person will earn a challenge sticker. Collect all five challenge stickers and be inducted into the Challenger's Circle and get a certificate.

3. The Adventure Challenge
Not to be confused with the Family version, this experience will be a more thrilling experience. Guests will have many options to choose from including rock climbing, zip lining, and repelling to name a few. Adventure packages are available, similar to the African Trek at Animal Kingdom.
Belize-zip-line-tour.jpg

Boy-Scout-Summit-Reserve-Rock-Climbing-Wall-10.jpg

Included in these adventure challenges is an exclusive pin and pictures of your experiences courtesy of Disney's Photopass photographers. If you're hungry after a long day of adventure, a "chuck wagon" is nearby to offer many delicious eats and drinks.

4. Mama Odie's
Mama Odie's is a wonderful spot for some good old fashion water jet fun. On hot summer days, parents can let their kids explore this wonderfully themed play area where kids can run through the jets of water that pop up.
Bayou_thumb5.jpg

If getting wet is not your thing, hike up to Mama Odie's boat to take a gander at her collections of strange oddities.
latest

For a truly beautiful sight, head out onto the balcony to find yourself surrounded by colored glass that shimmers and sparkles in the sunlight. If you are still around after the sun goes down, you'll witness Ray and his family perform a beautiful glowing dance through the "Swamp".

5. The Wizard of Oz is an iconic American story, and spinoffs (like the musical, Wicked) have made it popular once again. Envision Tom Sawyer island refurbed to feature the character of Professor Marvel from The Wizard of Oz. Remember, he’s the character who became the “Wizard” in Dorothy’s imagination. One of the things for which Professor Marvel was famous is his hot air balloon, which he planned to use to return Dorothy to Kansas. In our refurb for Tom Sawyer Island, let’s add Professor Marvel’s balloon ride (similar to “Characters in Flight” at Disney Springs) where guests can ascend and see bird’s eye views of the Magic Kingdom.
DSCN1073.JPG

6. Let’s imagine “Cactus Gulch” on Tom Sawyer Island. It’s not difficult to picture cactus growing in that spot (Disney imagineered cactus) especially with the theming of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad nearby. But what if a combination of cactus and brambles were assembled to make one of the world’s most challenging mazes? Young and old alike could enjoy exploring the maze, perhaps running into potentially dangerous desert critters in the process, and having to reverse course. Mazes have become quite popular (often at Halloween) as an activity the whole family can enjoy; having a world-class one at Disney World would be A-MAZE-ING!

7. The Shadowlands has been a longed for land of villains that never got off the drawing board, and it will make its home on Tom Sawyer Island. A Bald Mountain roller coaster would have been the signature attraction followed by lesser attractions like "the secret mission" to infiltrate Maleficent's castle, an interactive quest.
disney-theme-park-rides-that-were-never-built-20-photos-4.jpg

Captain Hook's Landlubber Eats is just one of the many eateries that hungry would be villains can go. Dr. Facilier's Voodoo Emporium is as lightly creepy gift shop where all villain merchandise can be found. Make sure to take time to visit Hades's Underworld Open House where guests can find the largest villain meet and greet in the park.

On October 1st, 2022 a new nighttime firework show will premiere in World Showcase Lagoon, to celebrate Epcot's 40th Anniversary. The new show will be called Illuminate the World, shining a new light on the countries of the world. It will use projections to showcase cultures from all 6 inhabited continents. The music paired with the fireworks takes inspiration from many parts of the world, particularly Asia and Africa. During the Grand Finale a float for each country represented in World Showcase, will float around the Lagoon. The segments are as follows:

Introduction- The show starts with a bang, as fireworks light up the sky.
Africa- (Kenya, S. Africa, Morocco and Egypt) Showcases African villages, music, as well as animals in the savanna.
Europe- (UK, France, Russia and Germany) Images of busy cities in these countries are shown, such as London, Paris, Moscow and Berlin.
Asia- (China, Japan, India and Israel) Bamboo forests of China, the bustling city of Tokyo, the monumental city of Jerusalem, and small Indian villages.
S. America- (Brazil, Chille, Panama and Guatemala) You see beautiful rain forests and monuments like Machu Picchu and Christ the Redeemer.
Europe- (Spain, Greece, Norway and Italy) Song and dance of Europe are seen, along with delicious food.
N. America- (USA, Mexico and Canada) Big US cities and Mexican culture are depicted here.
Grand Finale- Floats showing off all the World Showcase countries are brought out, and fireworks are lit.

Hopefully the new addition of Illuminate the World will greatly improve World showcase for the special anniversary!

A Kali River Rapids Refurbishment Project

100_2152.jpg

Kali River Rapids is arguably a Disney parks classic. It was Disney's first river rapids ride, and one of the original rides with the message of conservation of the environment. Over time, this ride has, to put it gently, lessered in favortism from the common park goer. It's no longer a headliner and is often forgotten by guests as an attraction in the park (which, when you look at that park's attraction count, is saying something! :p ). Of course, in theory this should make sense- as time goes on, new attractions keep getting built, so it's understandable older ones won't stand out anymore. But here's the problem- Kali River Rapids has not been kept up with the times like it should have been, and hasn't received necessary refurbishments. In fact, many effects and features have gone away! Just look at the below pictures of then vs now:
kali1.jpg
FunFindKaliRiverRapidsFeb13-1.jpg

In this refurbishment project, the mission is to not only bring back the original sense of adventure that came with the opening of this ride, but to update and expand it significantly to make this ride one of the most incredible journeys in the Animal Kingdom, but also to keep and strengthen its powerful story/message.

The Queue
Not much will change in the queue line, as it is already one of the most incredibly themed waiting areas of any ride:
09e6a1b21ca9416291b546edc1b57db9.jpg

The chainsaw sound effects will still be present in the first section of the line, as it is a clever builder to the story of the ride, however it will be toned down a bit (Mostly to just keep the beauty of the area less intruded. Plus, I've noticed from some of the people I've ridden with before that they don't put two and two together about the chainsawing, they just assume Disney workers were doing some landscaping work :p Therefore, while it is still a nice effect, it is better to lessen it to add to the beautiful land).
The only other significant update to the queue will be new music. It will receive queue music similar to that of Expedition Everest, as it will help create a more cohesive feeling in Asia, as well as do a better job of adding mystery to the area, that not all is perfect in this beautiful land.

Preshow Video
In the queue currently there is a "preshow", as in a video is playing on loop while you wait in line. This video will not change, however, it will become a much more important part of the story, as Manisha Goodall will be your narrator onride. Before a group of riders is released into the final part of the queue, the video will play a full loop.

The preshow can be seen at 6:58 below

Ride Experience
The ride experience is where the significant changes are. As stated above, the lift hill in particular will have its vast foliage and mist return, as it was a great pat of the ride that added to the mystery and sacredness of the land. More mist effects will be present throughout the ride. In addition, the track will be expanded as shown below (elaboration on each section will be in the ride through description coming up):
image.jpeg

-White depicts rerouted East Savannah Circle
-Black shows extended path for track
-Light blue shows new waterfall scene
-Darker blue shows new temple scene
-Red and Yellow denote current lift hill and deforestation scene/drop, respectively, for reference

Now, for the actual on-ride description! One unique feature that this ride has that is important to the reimagined ride experience is on-board audio. This is the first river rapids ride to make use of onboard audio (With the speakers located inside the seat itself directly behind you to protect them), as Manisha Goodall will be our narrator! The narration begins just as you're getting started on the lift hill.

Welcome, passengers. My name is Manisha Goodall, and welcome to Kali River Expeditions! This will be one of the most incredible excursions you've ever been on, as we tour what the Kali River Region in Maharaja. I've been working tirelessly to preserve this beautiful, natural land, and now, I am truly honored to be able to share this with you!

You continue through the newly rejuvinated lift hill until you reach the top. The famous water spout effect will stay that always gets the unlucky (or lucky on those 100 degree days!) riders in front of it soaked! As you continue down the new track (area between lift hill and new light blue waterfall scene), a look at the wildlife (plants and animatronic animals) is the first new scene.

Riding through Kali river, you can get a rare glimpse at some of the flora and fauna of the region! Looking into the jungle on the south side of the raft, you can see some of the area's native and important Neem and Teak trees...Ooh, look! Gee's Golden Langur, one of the world's rarest monkeys!
220px-Trachypithecus-geei-cropped.jpg

Continuing on, guests make a turn into a grand reveal in the next scene, a new one, one that is incredibly grand and visually amazing!

This, passengers is the Graind Prakaash waterfall, a true natural wonder. It's glorious places like this that give me the inspiration to preserve the land, as the earth truly is a great majesty.
images-119.jpg

ph03_05.jpg

The next scene, after leaving the waterfall, is a mysterious and highly themed temple in the midst and thick of the jungle. It looks similar to that which was planned for the never built Tiger Rapids Run ride.

Kali-River-Rapids-008.jpg

This is always is my favorite part of the tour, the Bhagavaan Kee Najar Temple. It is a hidden gem in this jungle, and I encourage you to get a good look at is as we ride by.

However, something is going wrong. The river path has been destructed and blocked somehow, and it's overflowing into the temple. You start to go ride through the darkness of it.

Wait, what's happening? Hello, Kali River Expeditions headquarters?

There is static in the audio, until it goes out completely, and riders are on their own away from Manisha.

After riding through the dark and frightening temple with very menacing animal soul effects and starting splashes of water on riders, they exit into the famous deforestation scene. This is where it is clear what was causing the problems with the river overflowing, the messing with nature. Amidst the burning trees and overturned truck, it is clear that Mother Nature isn't a peace after all of this, and a giant drop looms ahead. Even after riders plunge down the drop and get soaked, the ride isn't over. Passengers go through the most treacherous of rapids, which have been updated to bounce, splash, and be overall more rough than the original version, to add to the story of this being a dangerous land we have entered. Eventually, it slows down, and we return to the loading dock. Manisha on the radio intercom returns:

Ah, we're back! I'm so sorry about what happened on this adventure, it truly was a tragedy what happened. Hopefully, with our combined efforts, we together can help preserve and protect the Kali River lands, as well as many more beautiful, natural places around the world! I hope you enjoyed your trip, see you again!

Guests then exit their vehicles and head out, back into Animal Kingdom's Asia, hopefully with a great feeling inside with the message of conserving earth having reached them.

Merchandising/Extras
With this newly rebranded ride will come some merchandise updates. Just like how there isn't one now, Kali River Rapids will not receive a new exit gift shop. That being said, for the Kali fans, the other shops throughout the parks will be great places to get your souvenirs. From pins, shirts, magnets, there will be an abundance of march, with designs based on either the Temple, Waterfall, or vehicles having fun in the ride. After all, we want the focus and takeaway on the ride to be of the natural beauty, not the bad thing that was lodging/deforestation.
In addition, other merchandise item will be for younger kids, and it will be a booklet called "Expedition: Preservation!" Hopefully inspired by the ride, kids will have this book that has a few fun to read chapters (with the characters intermixed) on some of the world's greatest natural wonders and what we can do to keep the world a clean and healthy place. In the second part of the book, there will be a huge checklist chart for kids to fill out for overtime they do a good thing for the planet, such as picking up litter, not wasting electricity, etc.

Stats
No. of Vehicles- 35
Riders per Vehicle- 12
Ride Time- 6:20 minutes
Hourly Capacity- 4,000 riders
Estimated Period of Ride Closure for Refurbishment- 9 months
Fastpass+- Yes
Single Rider- No
Age Restriction- 38 inches

Overall, with these above updates and enhancements, I think that Kali River Rapids will become a must do and DAK as a whole will become even stronger of an up and coming park. Thanks for reading my submission!

Add a new show to replace the Circle of Life in the Land Pavilion for Ravenclaw

Opening in 2021 as part of the 50th Anniversary will be Kitchen Théâtre. This show will be animatronic based, and will be revival of the classic Kitchen Cabaret show. This light hearted musical revue will use cartoonish characters to go over the basics of the food pyramid : Fruits, Vegetables, Dairy, Protein, and Grain. This show will feature new all original songs, except for one : Veggie Veggie, Fruit Fruit.

Re-design a Disney coaster as a dark ride or re-design a Disney dark ride as a coaster for Ravenclaw
Superstar Highway will be a whole new launch rollercoaster opening in 2021 opening at Disney's Hollywood Studios it will replace Rock'n'Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith. The premise is that your running late for the red carpet premier for the film you starred in. Eventually you get onto a superstretch limo, and drive through the sights of LA. This allows for the cheapest overlay Disney can hope for, and they get to save money on running it due to cutting the royalty fees paying Aerosmith. Plus the ride itself will stay virtually the same.

Design a new restaurant anywhere in WDW for Ravenclaw
Welcome to Galactic Cafe. Opening with the Gaurdians of the Galaxy expansion at Epcot. Galactic Cafe will be home to delicious space food. Aliens and humans alike will find the menu unique and delicious. From the ice comet cones, to the Groot salad the menu will not disappoint. The restaurant will be themed to Xandar.

Give a temporary Star Wars overlay to a classic Disney attraction for Ravenclaw
Welcome to Ewok Treehouse, a 'temporary' attraction in Adventurland. Using the infrastructure inplace for Swiss Family Robinson, the current treehouse will be transformed into something straight out of the Ewok village. Guests will pass by The Ewok living quarters, as well as a recreation of the celebration scene in the finale of the original trilogy albeit a lot smaller. At the end of the walk through guests will be able to meet the Ewoks in the Ewok's kitchen.

With the recent success of The Jungle Book, include the film somehow in the parks for Ravenclaw
During 2016 guests were welcomed to Rivers of Light, but some wonder what happened to the old Jungle Book show? Well its time to find out! Opening in 2017 right before the crowds for Avatarland arrive is Celebrate the Jungle Book. Reusing everything from The Jungle Book - Alive with Magic except for projections given the fact it now plays during the day. However newly added will be puppets that go on the water to act out what is being said. There will be 6 puppets : Bagheera, King Louie, Baloo, Kaa, and Shere Khan. They are some changes with some scenes that are cut to give the show a smaller running time.

Add a new attraction to Main Street U.S.A. in WDW for Ravenclaw
The Lillian Theatre is a whole new Broadway Theater built in the expansion pad between Main Street USA, and Tomorrowland. This theatre will house Pinocchio - A Musical Masterpiece. If the title didn't give it away this is a Broadway caliber show based off Pinocchio, what many consider to be his best film. In this 45 minute show guests will experience a retelling of Pinocchio with classic songs along with new ones added to make it a must see. This theater will be a great addition for the Magic Kingdom as it will be a people eater, and will also incorporate a property with not a lot of representation in the park.

As guests enter Castello de los Piratas they see various flags hanging on the walls. As guests meander through the castles covered patio similar to that found at Magic Kingdom. Eventually guests reach the main entrance of the show building. Guests enter the castles dungeon, and see unopened crates that have been collecting dust for years. Large cannonballs are stacked upon each other. As guests continue they enter a long hallway filled with cells. In one cell guests see a rat drinking from a pan of water. In another cell a large spider is seen crawling the walls. The final cell that is inhabited contains two skeletons stuck in the middle of a chess game that is quite clearly a stalemate. Some of the barred windows are seemingly melted.

Guests now enter the canon room where they see the canons sticking out, and into the open air. Various large holes are open due to a rather hard battle from the seas. Guests leave the courtyard, and enter a moonlit courtyard. A well stands in the center of the courtyard. With a rope almost about to snap seemingly carrying nothing. A window on the second story of the home occasionally swings opens with the wind revealing a rooster sleeping.

Guests exit the courtyard, and come onto a street that has seen better days. Most of the buildings are burned with serious damage. Years of abandonment have led to nature taking over. A wall of roses is covering the entrance of the mysterious boats that come and go. A closer look will show there are still plenty of civilians left in this town. One civilian will guide guests to either continue on their current way, or to send them to the rose covered bridge. Either way guests will begin to head a slope, and be directed by more civilians to board one of the mysterious boats.

Ride Experience –

Scene One: Sentence

As guests leave the run down town they enter a mysterious Jamaican mangrove forest. The wind rustles the leaves in the forests, while the calls of many animals provide an ambient sound to the night. The head of an American Crocodile pops out from the water, as it approaches the boats it slowly dives back into the water. The boats shake a bit as the large reptilian goes under the boats. Something can be heard coming out of the water. As the boats turn a corner a 10 foot crocodile is seen on the shore eyeing the guests once more.

963899642-manglar-amazonas-rio-verde-exuberante-amazonia.jpg

The sight of something yellow may seem normal in the forest, but it may not for as long seeing as it has now moved. What now seems like a long snake is seen stretching over the guests. The head of a Jamaican Boa is made present to the guests as its tongue comes out.

Mysterious Female: “Ah, so you have come now?”

As the boats turn another corner Tia Dalma comes into view. The voodoo witch is seen standing on the porch of her shack.

Tia Dalma: “You come seeking adventure now? Let Tia help you. Perhaps you’d like to journey to the famed pirate lord, Captain Jack Sparrow? Mmmm, yes I can sense it. Go, now! Be on your way before I change my mind.”

The boats enter a cave as they sail in the dark among the rocks Tia Dalma says an incantation, and with that the vehicles go down a ten foot drop.

Scene 2: Davy Jones’s Locker

The boats progress through the caverns of a cave. Ghostly whispers warn guests to turn back before its too late. The boats past a wrecked pirate ship with wood still rotting away. Guests past by various barrels of rum, but all seem empty. Which raises the question: Why is the rum always gone? The boats reach a beach with a lone crab on it. It occasionally clicks its claw as various pirate skeletons are scattered on the beach. One skeleton is on top of a rock reaching for the hand of another skeleton. Another skeleton is holding a pistol aimed at the crab. The final skeleton is pressed against a cave wall away from the crab. Was the crab what scared these pirates to death or was there something else in play?

Ghostly Voice: Dead mean tell no tales...

A wall of mist appears as Davy Jones appears.

Davy Jones: Ahahahaha! Aye, but tales there be aplenty in this cursed place.
Ghostly Voice: Dead mean tell no tales...
Davy Jones: Ah, but they do tell tales—so says I, Davy Jones.
Ghostly Voice: Dead mean tell no tales...
Davy Jones: If ye be brave or fool enough to face a pirates’ curse, proceed.

The boats go down a 20 foot drop into the sea and back in time.

Scene 3 : The Black Pearl

From here the ride is the same as its counterpart in the Magic Kingdom. Skip to about 3:28.

When you visit Disney World, you have the chance to stay at a number of highly themed resorts that transport you to a number of exotic and fun locations from around the world. One glaring omission is a country whose history and beauty can rival that of any other in the world. Made up of over 6000 islands and islets, it boasts amazing coast lines, stunning vistas and architecture, and provides culinary options sure to please any foodie. Coming to the Walt Disney World Resort, many guests will get their first exposure to this nation and all it has to offer. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to The Greek Isles at Walt Disney World.

Situated at the edge of Crescent Lake, this new Disney resort will rise majestically from the waters edge with clear vantage points across the lake towards Epcot and at the other end Hollywood Studios. Utilizing the current land design of the Swan and Dolphin hotels that never existed, the resort will be built on two sides of the Crescent Lake tributary connected by an ancient looking Greek bridge. While the resort itself will be in true Greek style, the colors, look and feel will mesh well with the Boardwalk, Beach and Yacht club resorts already on site.

On one shoreline the large Olympus tower will rise up featuring clean lines, glass windows everywhere and white stone work to blend with the rest of the resort. The tower will contain all of the studio and regular one and two bedroom resort options. Also on this shoreline will be the Mykonos villas, a representation of the island by the same name that will house one and two bedroom villas for the resort. Across the bridge and tributary, will be the DVC villas for the resort. Patterned after Santorini Greece, the villas will be set up on artificial rock work built around the shoreline to mimic the coastline of its namesake.

As promised, this resort will be a culinary lovers dream and there will be no shortage of restaurant and meal options on the resort. Here's just a glance at what to find at the resort.

Aphrodite’s Courtyard
Guests will be treated to a traditional Greek meal while dining in a great environment. This will be a table service.

Demeter’s Marketplace
Guests will be able to meals from Greece as well as things that the average American is used to eating such as burgers, chicken fingers, pizza, etc. This will be a quick service.

Dionysus’s Vine Yard
Similar to Trader Sam's, this will be a themed bar located at the resort. Guests will be able to dine in an atmosphere reminiscent of that in the Pastoral scene of Fantasia.

Olympus Pool

Themed to the Disney film Hercules, te main pool will feature Greek designs throughout the entire pool. With zero entries at certain parts of the pool, this will be a different kind of pool than other Disney resorts. This will feel more like an oasis rather than a standard pool. You'll walk into the pool and be able to snake around the winding streams to waterfalls, whirl pools, and more. The pool is also sand bottom.

Zeus Gifts
Near the main entrance to the resort is a resort giftshop that features common Disney memorabilia and specific resort memorabilia as well.

Following is a little more detail about the rooms, design and aesthetics of the 3 resort locales at the Greek Isles:

Tower -
40255894686.jpg

The tower will be the home for studio, one bed, and two bed rooms. The rooms will be decorated with the pictures of the Grecian shores. The walls will be mostly white, but one wall will be all blue. The furniture will be a light blue, and will be very modern. The bathrooms will be have a similar paint scheme except in reverse. The shower will a waterfall, and there will be a separate bathtub if you wish to to take a bath. The bathroom is themed to the beaches of Greece. Incorporating Grecian seashells, and Greek paintings of the beach.

A new Star Wars overlay to a disney attraction:

This Star Wars overlay will take place at Astro Orbitor. During this Star Wars music will play along the ride. While waiting you are informed by a video that you are boarding a spaceship to travel the Galaxy against the first order. Over the voice speakers there will be CRPO and R2D2 making noises in the background. The overlay will be only temporary, and even though it will be outside it is made to give the effect of flying through space.

While the recent success of the Jungle Book-include it somewhere in the park:

I am including Jungle book in the jungle cruise, this will be a jungle cruise overlay. With all new jokes to go along with the different animals throughout the attraction, there will also be temporary animatronics related to the jungle book to make the overlay more realistic. The ride will only be a temporary overlay, but it will be there for the rest of the summer season. Along with this will be songs from the movie on the attraction.
