With the refurbishments going on at DHS, one thing that is overlooked is the restaurants. As a new Phase for the refurb, the Hollywood and Vine area will be converted to a fancy "movie star" club similar to Club 33, called Vine Drive. It will be tucked away on the second floor of the building overlooking the park, and be home to an elegant fine dining experience for selected members. This will also give a prime viewing location for the Star Wars Fireworks at night overlooking the Great Movie Ride. Overall, Vine Drive will give DHS an up-scale, park dining option and add to the updated themes of the park as well

"Best Of The Rest" Dining Hall - for Gryffindor

The concept is simple: a combination of famous dishes from fine WDW restaurants.

You want the filet mignon from Yachtsman steakhouse but your dining partner is dying for the potato-wrapped snapper from Flying Fish?

Can't get a reservation at Be Our Guest? Don't want to travel to Boma? Is your favorite restaurant closed for refurbishment during your trip? Only in town for one day with a one-park ticket?

While it would typically be more common to use that ticket at MK or Epcot, you'll want to use it at Animal Kingdom, where BOTR replaces the Rainforest Cafe (which can be found at so many malls across the country.)

While the restaurant will feature high end decor, the menu - while mostly consisting of dishes from the best Disney restaurants - will also have some mid-to-lower end favorites such as the Dole Whip (served in fine crystal) as well as kids' favorites from around the park, making it a more family-friendly fine dining experience - ever so slightly laid back, with comfortable yet elegant seating.

If you know that the best food is typically at the resorts, you can sample their fare without leaving the park.

The chef will also feature sustainable original specials regularly.

Seating will be extra high-backed booths for privacy - offering both romance and a buffer from other peoples' kids. A brilliant crystal chandelier will hang over each table, each with a subtle nod to another restaurant (such as fish for Flying Fish, etc.) so they will all match but provide some of that special Disney detail.

A newly renovated vaulted ceiling will reveal skylights throughout the main walkways between tables.

This Airport is designed to make guests feel welcome and actually enjoy their time in between layovers. It's interior is themed to a naturalistic future, similar to The Land Pavilion at EPCOT. Like to the airport in Charlotte, this airport will feature rocking chairs for guests to sit and relax from the craziness of the airport.

For another mini-challenge in Year Six, we will travel to Disney's Hollywood Studios. With the Osbourne Lights being retired after 20 years in operation, the park will be looking for a new holiday event. And that's our job this challenge.

Your task will be to design a temporary holiday event for DHS while Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land are being built. You can be as creative as you want for this (and its optional)

All you need is a minimum of 5 sentences. You're allowed to have images and can go over the 5 sentence mark if you want. For submissions that meet this requirement, you will receive 10 House Points per submission and you can have 4 submissions per House.

This will be due Monday June 20th at 11:59 PM EST
Good luck and have fun!

As a temporary display, and riding the success of Star Wars and future films that come out around the holidays, this holiday season we will be introduced to a Star Wars night-time light display in and around DHS. Instead of the Osbourne lights, become surrounded by lifesized figures of the Star Wars films. Tie-Fighters, X-Wings, and more, which will be lined around the park entrance and throughout the center of park by the Great Movie Ride. The Star Wars Fireworks will also get a seasonal overlay to the holiday edition, just kidding;), though there will be a special longer version of the fireworks display for the season. As Star Wars has been so successful, and Disney tends to add in little things to hype up their films, with the release of Rogue One and Episode 8 over the next two holiday seasons, this seems like a realistic thing they could do.

Year Six - The Lightning Struck Tower (of Terror)

This is a very simple task for all Houses. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of the most popular attractions in Walt Disney World. And is one of the attractions with on-ride photos.

Also on a forum, many of us love to use the emojis in our comments :p <-- see! I just did one.

One player from each House can simply comment below, with an emoji of their face on Tower of Terror for an extra 5 House Points.

Short and sweet!

A Very Hollywood Christmas

5220025185_400fb55c3d_z.jpg

With the Osborne Family Lights sadly coming to an end, Hollywood Studios really needs a new Christmas celebration.

Celebrating the heart of the park, all festivities are moved to Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard. As soon as night falls, charming Christmas lights flicker on among the buildings on both streets, and classic 1940's holiday music serves as a relaxing soundtrack.

That's not all. During the month of December, the Beauty and the Beast stage show gives way to a new musical extravaganza, themed around the classic story,
A Christmas Carol. Due to the story being adapted numerous times on the big screen, the tale fits the park.

The nightly fireworks show is also given a holiday makeover. After the showing of Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, another fireworks show starts a little later, showing the greatest moments of some of the most classic Christmas movies (Nightmare Before Christmas, It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, etc.).

Alas, this is only temporary, as the Imagineers are hard at work designing something a little more permanent. (Life Day anyone? ;):hilarious:)

Classic Hollywood Firework Spectacular:
For Gryffindor
The new firework show will be a replacement for The Osbourne Spectacle of Lights. Using the new technology for the Star Wars fireworks, classic Christmas themed movies will be projected on the Chinese Theater to go along with the story like It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Clause, and more! The fireworks will use the roof top launches over GMR for extra pyro, as well as the new launch site. Fireworks will be many colors but mainly red, white, and green, to go with the Christmas vibe. For extra viewing new projectors will show stuff around Hollywood Boulevard and even have a snow fall finale!

I was looking at the ICS point chart today and just out of curiosity, is this for points and how does that work?
Yep, I believe it's for points. I was talking with space, but you may want an answer from him in detail.

But, I've been talking with several people and I would honestly just rather move away from a reliance on the point system, or at least the E8 and have a sort of "brawl" event at the end of the year.
