I wish I could say that...:D
I've been slowly collecting but there's a lot more I need. I got al the figment comics, all the big thunder mountain. 3 Walt Disney biographies. Marty Sklar bio, Disney encyclopedia, book on how to be like Walt, and the unofficial guid to the evolution of Disney land.
I've got the first three kingdom keepers coming inthe Mail this week.

Ah we did Julius Caesar, The Tempest, and Macbeth...never did Romeo & Juliet.

I think I liked Caesar the best out of the bunch. Sparknotes helps with the shakespearean translations so everything makes sense.

Hamlet is where it's at, then you read Rosencratz and guildenstern are dead.

Had to read Macbeth in High School... Shakespeare is never fun. Other then that we read The Great Gatsby. Reading really wasn't a big thing at my high school, kinda sad :(

Last semester I had to go in depth on Maya Angelou's works, The Death of Ivan Ilyich, Siddhartha, and Much Ado About Nothing for Honors English last semester....Interesting stuff! Actually, the director for the Avengers did a version of Much Ado as well... It's on youtube somewhere :bookworm:

Also, this looks amazing!

Joss Whedon? :D

I had to read Death of Ivan Ilich this time last year too:p

I know!!

I just like how they do different things with each movie...if Dr. Strange goes well, Marvel's good streak continues and probably will into 2017 with Guardians 2, Spiderman, and Thor (with Hulk:D)

Also with Zootopia, the positive response form Jungle Book and Civil War...Disney is crushing it in 2016...and Finding Dory, Dr. Strange, Rogue One still haven't come out:cyclops:

Out of all the villains, they pick Vulture? o_O
Apparently Feige loves Vulture...and when he was exect. producer of Spider-Man 2, he was pushing Vulture to be the villain over Doc Oc.

And then if Spider-Man 3 wasn't so terrible, the Spider-Man 4 villain was supposed to be Vulture...played by John Malkovich

He's one of the originals - I think the second villain Spider-Man faced in the comics...so they are going old-school with this one.

I get to read Guns, Germs and Steel over the summer. How exciting...

Honestly, they've used so many Spider-Man villains already, Vulture isn't too bad. They are still making 2 more after this, so they can get Mysterious for one of those. The only other good choice that hasn't been used is Carnage, but I think they could go back to Green Goblin, it's been a while.

Well if you dont count pretty much a 1 minute shoe-horned action scene with Goblin in TASM 2 :p

I'm interested in Vulture, I'd also like to see Kraven the Hunter, Carnage is a good one too.

They've used Goblin, Doc, Venom, Sandman, Lizard, Electro, and Rhino. Like Batman, Spider-man has a laundry list of villains.

Remember when this thread was about Imagineering? I remember it like it was yesterday...oh the fond memories. :inlove:

So Potter fans, help a noob out, what is the point of the sorting hat in the movie? Is it random? or does it use magical psychic powers to determine the future personalities of students to see which house they would fit best in? If so, why do the houses have to have different personalities? Why should a school separate students into houses like this? Wouldn't that create some artificial barriers between students, leading to internal conflict? Wouldn't that lead to teachers picking favorites because their students happened to be in their house? If the sorting hat does have psychic-level powers to determine stereotypes, couldn't that power be utilized to see into the future, thus negating most if not all of the conflict in the series? Just have little baby Hairy go get the Deathly Hallows while Dumbledore is still kicking and go get all the horcrux stuff or whatever. I don't know, these seem like significant plot holes to the rules of this universe.

There's a lot of stuff in this question(s) - I'll take it in chunks...

For now, if you want a brief and comical overview of Harry Potter, here you go

To sort first years into their Houses
Is it random? or does it use magical psychic powers to determine the future personalities of students to see which house they would fit best in?
It's based on character traits - sorting hat senses your traits and tries to place you in a house where you will most likely succeed.
If so, why do the houses have to have different personalities?
Chemistry? Like Personality Chemistry perhaps...
Why should a school separate students into houses like this?
So we can have this competition. :p
Wouldn't that create some artificial barriers between students, leading to internal conflict?
Sometimes...though granted personalities like Malfoy and Harry would clash regardless of what House they are in.
Wouldn't that lead to teachers picking favorites because their students happened to be in their house?
Sometimes...though actually McGonagall (Head of Gryffindor) is pretty strict on her students. And there's crossover where people actually care about other houses.
If the sorting hat does have psychic-level powers to determine stereotypes, couldn't that power be utilized to see into the future, thus negating most if not all of the conflict in the series?
Professor Trelawney predicts the future in the series....and that actually plays a huge role in determining the outcome of the books/movies.

I don't think Dumbledore figures out there are Horcuxes until Year 5/6.

No no, you're missing two key points:
  1. Why does a school segregate students based on their personalities?
  2. If psychic powers are established to exist in this universe, Dumbledore could figure out all about Horticulturxes by looking into the future.
