The Haunted Mansion with no tracks?

I like that analogy. Very true. But could happen to other attractions.

Do you understand just how teenage dreamy this thread is? You're talking about adding something in because it was cool somewhere else.. with zero thought to how it would actually benefit the attraction.

The advantage of the system in Pooh's HH is that it allows the vehicles to move in patterns unpredictable to the guest and move in a much more varied way between sets. What do you need to move? Oh yeah.. Space. Beyond the absurdity of replacing the ride system in existing attractions... how would you propose the system be adapted to existing rides that have a finite ride path designed specifically for the existing ride system? Redesign all the sets too? At what point are you just starting over entirely?

You bring up the age old fanboy dream of 'when are we getting a LPS attraction here..' because Hunny Hunt is so well liked. That's one thing.. but to suggest existing rides be retrofitted purely because LPS was cool elsewhere.. without even addressing what value it actually adds.. well that's just irrational dreaming.

You're basically talking about reinventing the rides. I think that is a worthwhile discussion.. but you shouldn't focus on the tool used for the effect.. but the effect itself :)

Because it's scattered all over, especially when talk of the Ratatouille ride going to Paris is added. Also, there is a search function.

There's also the ability to not post and just bypass the thread if you're already seen it "ad nauseum".....I haven't heard about this and I think it's pretty neat.

And what's the fun in that? I look at the threads that I think may prove interesting, although I am usually mistaken afterwards

A little weird going off on someone for their ideas being absurd when our former-Imagineer-in-residence admitted that they really did blue sky a trackless Mansion around the time of DL's 50th...

I simply quote the original post...

"What if this was implemented into all WDW attractions? Comments?"

Compare that... to Eddie's story and get back to me.

I've never been on a trackless ride, but from seeing the video it doesn't really look like the ride and experience would be any better if it was on a track or not. I could be wrong but I really don't see the appeal.

A new Mr. Toad's Wild Ride where you constantly almost miss other vehicles filled with fellow tourists and other props. Of course, you'll still get destroyed by the train. WDI - feel free to use this idea. I'll send you an address for the check. CHEERS!
