The Greatest Day

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!

Breathe, breathe... must breathe!

Ok... *deep breathe* I think I just had one of the greatest days of my life. I'm still in disbelief. I am so afraid this is all just a dream. Please pinch me! Ok, here's what happened today.

First, I told this to some of you earlier. I had a job interview today for a summer internship and I got the job! It was an enormous relief. I spent the last 4 months searching and I finally landed one. That alone would have made it a great day. But there was more...

Second, I had an exam tonight. Result, piece of cake, I destroyed it. ;) More good news... but it wasn't over, not by a long shot.

Third... and this is the biggest one of all. I'm still in shock.

Remember when I said I was going to Texas this summer with my family? Well, consider that plan scrapped. My parents talked me out of going with them. They said I really wouldn't get to do much and I'd probably be miserable on the trip. So instead of Texas, they offered me another destination...

DISNEYLAND

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! Yes, Disneyland!

I have an Uncle who lives ten minutes from Disneyland. In 2002, he got married and the whole family except me (I had school) went over there. So the rest of the family got to experience DL and I never did. Well, his wife is now pregnant and is set to give birth sometime this summer. My grandma will want to see the baby. The thing is she's uncomfortable going alone. That's where I come in. My job is to go with her to California and escort her to my Uncle's. After that, I'm free to go to Disneyland! :D

Oh wow! I still cannot believe it. My only hope for another Disney trip would have been WDW in two years. And this just came out of no where! In no way did I ever expect this! Please tell me I'm not dreaming. I wanna cry! This is almost too much to take in for just one day.

It's still not set in stone. We'll have to notify my uncle and make arrangements. It shouldn't be a problem though, I don't think. He's been pushing me to visit him for a while.

I can't believe I'm saying this...

I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

My uncle just cleared the plan. The Disneyland trip is a go! With lodging and airfare not of my concern, this trip looks to cost little more than $200 total! I can't belive I'm doing this!

Though, there is one concern. I guess it may seem trivial, but I think it's important to me. If you've talked to me, you know I care for that "special feeling." If I do something, I want it to be "special". My WDW trip last summer, I spent two years saving for it, so when I got it, it was extremely special to me. Seeing Cinderella Castle again was just a feeling like no other. I was there because I had earned it. My next WDW trip is not for another 2 years and although the wait is excruciating... well, the wait would be worth it. Because when the time comes and I look on Cinderella Castle again after 3 years, that emense feeling will again take hold on me. And again, there would be that statisfaction that I earned it. The longer the wait, the greater the feeling. But now this Disneyland trip has come out of no where. And though I am incredibly grateful that I'm getting it, I wonder how it will affect my hopeful WDW trip in the future. Have I really earned this trip? DL is not WDW but will WDW still be as "special" after this DL trip? I know it sounds trivial but I'm very sentimental about this stuff.

I dont think that the DL trip will make the WDW trip any less special. You are still working hard for the WDW trip and saving for it, and thats what makes it special. I usually only go to WDW once a decade, but in 2000 I went twice in 6 months! I think that the second trip was even MORE special than the first one! Looking forward to 2005 ;)
