Darrel, bless your heart. I hope that your ear gets better soon and there's no damage done.

Yes I do have to be careful on these meds, infact the doctor himself said that I have to watch my sugar even more so now cause the steroids can raise my sugar level, as if I needed something else to worry about. and he said that the vicadin can become habit forming so he only gave me a limited amount.
Thank you Tigsmom, that`s what I intend to do, if I can tear myself away from this computer! :animwink:Originally posted by tigsmom
You are right about your glucose levels. Also take them on a full stomach whenever possible cause they can bother that ,too.
Glad the swelling is down and hopefully there will be no damage to your hearing. Its a good day to take a nice long rest.
Thank you Christy, well It`s an ear infection that spread to my lymph glandsOriginally posted by MouseMadness
DARREL! You go to bed right now! Goodness. Are they sure that it's only an ear infection? I've never heard of anything like that before. I used to get ear infections constantly when I was a kid, thank goodness I haven't had one since then. Even as young as I was, I still remember how painful that is. One of the worst pains I've ever experienced, and I've gone through natural childbirth. :lookaroun
Take care, Darrel.

I feel your pain Darrel.
Having wide ear canals, and being a swimmer as a kid I was constantly getting swimmers ear from fresh water swimming (saltwater swimming was fine).
You can get it just from washing your hair as well if conditions are right and water stays in your ear.
I hope you feel better!
Oh yeah, the preventative thing we used to do -- which worked (I never got swimmer's ear again after doing this -- was to place a few drops of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and a couple of drops of rosewater into our ears after swimming in a pool -- worked great.

Darrel, you are never supposed to stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ear! tsk tsk tsk.
