Get ready to have a good laugh at my expense. With the deck planted, the planters moved into position and the decked swept clean I decided to hose down the deck. Note to self check the gaskets before turning the water on for the season. I'm soaked from head to toe:facepalm: Silly me assuming the guys would have done that when they got the lines for the ground level stuff turned on:banghead:

Probably much funnier if one actually gets to witness it. But, I got pretty good image anyway.

Strawberry barrels are drilled out, fitting with an irrigation system, and set for planting next weekend. They were a lot of work, had to drill through solid oak wine barrels... and I don’t like wine.. burned out a 2 1/2” drill bit doing it too. By the last few holes it was struggling to cut the wood.

I now have 35 holes per barrel, that a fair amount of strawberries.

stuph•from•steph: . . . bee all that you can bee . . . Organic Berry Fertilizer (3-lb. bag) from Park Seed

Willmark did your bees discover their oasis yet?!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE all your additions, the wind spinner is cool and gives nice vertical interest, can see the berry barrels, be sure to get some berry fertilizer to up production....and all planted?!?!?! WOW!!! It has been like 89 here past few days and first turn on of AC got a fail. I could not figure it out so called, and ouch yes, weekend AND memorial day weekend extra fee....turns out the little yellow wire inside enclosed case inside furnace cabinet, 24 wire for relay? Was disconnected completely, WHICH is very odd, and the tech wondered how it happened too, but I had DTE Out to disconnect the interruptible service last fall, cuz they turned it off way more than supposed to, and I just have to question sabotage..... I remember him in there for some time saying he had to disconnect the interupptible wire, which WAS cut but as he was in there a long while I think he was doing more than that. It works now and the irony is we were actively in process of getting new furnace, ac and water on demand to be done in Feb/Mar and furnace igniter blew early March, then Corona, now all is on pause!!!

TInk got all her annuals planted, and seeds too. Veggie plant delivery should be today, they were slammed and I am like a kid prior to Christmas day.....👍 On lookout for my first monarch of the season...

THANKS Farmer Willmark for the awesome update! Looks amazing!!!:D

I know I over ordered some of my mulch but underordered the larger areas.....I used cedar chips last year and it faded but held it's ground pretty much. So just going to fill in the blanks a bit. I used to lug tons of compost and shredded branches from a local free spot....but now I do it all by bags. I especially love the cocoa hull/shells mulch.....bad for doggies though. When you water ground first apply, then water again it makes a nice natural looking dirt colored mat that helps keep the weeds out with finished look. I use that mostly in front and along side gardens. I use the cedar chips in all my backyard perennial gardens. Our neighbors along other side are young and last few years mulched their front beds but left our side with nothing....so I ordered some matching mulch of theirs to fix that as I have to look at it every day when I go out door to garage and yard. It is all due tomorrow as I am having it delivered.

figmentfan423 just don't look at it, and am glad DH is willing to curbside for you! Feels good to get something finished doesn't it? Too hot here today to spread mulch anyhow, but hoping it doesn't all get rained on before temp drops Thursday. Best get tarp out.....

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and is enjoying some outdoor fun/work. I have noticed a lot of flowers planted at neighborhood homes as we walk around, and makes me smile......

I usually do this a few times during summer, go to fill my watering cans at 2 of my rainbarrels and forget until they are emptied out, they were pretty much empty but still.....sigh. I harness 200 gallons when we get a 2 inch rainfall. Still have some in the back barrel....helps with the water bill!
