I am actually really surprised that the pastries haven't started appearing in carts. I would think that trays of sweets would easil lend itself to this type of sale, and that would be a very small cost compared to an entire restaurant for the morning. It wouldn't solve the issue of getting eggs, bacon, or other items, but it would be easy to grab a croissant, pastry, donut, or other quick bite. Heck, they could even do a waffle stand!

That is a really good idea. They could have them right at the park entrance!

I think this is a fantastic idea. Maybe they can eventually have more here than just Ice Cream, but as it probably is now, it is filling a void at Epcot and is in a good spot for it. Personally, if I'm going to buy Ice Cream in the parks I'm either getting a Dole Whip or a Premium Bar, but I'm sure that if this is done right it will make a killing.

Actually, up until the Land got its big refurb, they offered counter service breakfast at the Electric Umbrella. It wasn't anything fancy, just omlettes, french toast sticks, bagel breakfast sandwich, cereal and fruit. After Sunshine Seasons reopened, breakfast was moved over there.

I had a single scoop of Rainbow Sherbet in a waffle cone today (was one of the first people to try out the new venue as I went around 2:20). I know it's just Edy's that you can buy in the store, but there's something about having refreshing sherbet in 95 degree weather, sitting out on a patio watching the Fountain of Nations perform "Day One" while being gently misted by the water. It's pure magic. :)

The place was really hopping when I went - and it had only been open for less than half an hour. At this rate, I can see the test period becoming permanent!

I was there about the same time... was very tasty and refreshing as hot as it was outside

I also went about an hour after opening. The place was pretty crowded! I think I'll try again today :)

I had an ice cream sandwich with mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was great!

I saw six flavors of ice cream: Mint Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Chocolate, Rainbow Sherbert, Chocoalte Chip and Strawberry. Can't wait to try them all!

With the exception of the Ice Cream Sundae everything is listed as a dining plan snack.

Glad to hear they're putting this to good use, we also miss the iced coffee as the location was great, when we were there last week it was so depressing to walk by it closed down,

Can't wait to try it out!

I only wish they had soft serve ice cream too. The other ice cream place in Epcot is at the Trading Post in WS where they have soft serve.

I'm going to miss the creme bruele though. Epcot does need to have more breakfast options for the non-princess going guest and I personally think that walking to the land is way too far.

I bet once SSE reopens and is popular and thus has a line at opening and thus lots of people unloading into Innoventions plaza, they'll reconsider not having Electric Umbrella serve breakfast.

mmmmmm....waffles with ice cream?! Only at Disney would I consider such decadence...and it would probably cost $10.

When is fountainview typically open? I dont remember it ever being open the last 3 times ive been to WDW, in late August/early September of 2004,2005, and 2006.

I'm realy glad to see this getting opened back up. The ice cream just makes it that much more better.

I wish they would start serving breakfast at electric umbrella though. Its so nice to sit right outside in the morning people watching at one of the tables and seeing the mad dash for TT fastpasses.

So, nobody knows what Fountainview was before Fountainview? And where exactly is it? Is it right outside of Spaceship Earth near the Communicore / Innoventions area?
