What is the first thing you do after checking in to your WDW resort room?

For us.....pop the TV on the "Top 7" channel and plan away!

Our first day is a travel day only. We get to the resort, grab lunch at a different resort.

When we get back to the room, unpack and get the room setup, then we head to the pool for swim and cocktail time.

Depending on how tired we are, we either go have a great dinner or snuggle in for the evening watching resort TV.

What's a "No Way Jose"? We'll be staying at the BC so I'm wondering if this is something I can do too.

It is a sundae at Beaches & Cream. From the WDWMagic menu section:

No Way Jose $7.99
-A Peanutbutter and Hot Fudge Delight Featuring Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanutbutter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream and a Cherry

It depends what time we get there. If its morning / early afternoon then probably head for a fairly relaxed trip round the parks (after a trip from the UK all I could managed is 'relaxed'). If its later afternoon / evening then probably have a quick look round the resort and then off to DTD for dinner and maybe entertainment. I'll never book an ADR for our day of arrival just incase we're delayed.

Of course, if we're off site then I guess everything changes...

Our first day we usually arrive early afternoon. Instead or running to the parks that day, we unwind by going straight to the pool (we bring swimsuits in our carry on bags.) Then we eat a nice dinner at the resort and relax for the evening before heading to the Magic Kingdom for an early breakfast before the park opens the next morning.

First things first. We step out of the Orlando Airport and breath in that first breath of Florida air and gaze at our first palm trees. We just smile and say "We're Here!". We drive to our hotel with our windows down and get really excited at our first Disney World billboard. We usually arrive around noon time so sometimes our room is not ready. If not, we are more than happy to explore or go to the grocery store for our weekly supplies. Then we'll eat lunch somewhere.....actually it's usually McDonald's and we grab all the park maps and look them over (even though we know exactly what's in them, it's just tradition). In the room it's Disney World's Top 7 Must Sees right away and we watch it until it loops. Then it's out to the balcony to try and spot the parks in the distance. No parks our first day on any trips so far. It's always full day of Magic Kingdom our first full day. But letting the anticiaption build that first night is part of the fun!
Carry out a function check by dropping the kids off at the pool :lookaroun
I usually take care of this at the airport. . .;)

WickedQueen22, you are from Cape Cod. I'm still waiting for you to tell me who you are.

We travel all day from San Francisco. With the time difference and the long flight we usually end up there between 9p and 11p. We check in, no problem getting your room at that hour :). If Roaring Forks is still open, we grab a sammy. Head back to the room, unpack and iron all the clothes that wrinkled in the suitcase. All the while watching the Top 7 . . . always missing the "Zippity-Doo-Da . . . Tip-For-Today", but very happy to be back "home".
